"It's been a long time since I wore sneakers."They went hiking towards Jun's old house where she used to live with her parents. It wasn't so deep in the jungle and they easily found it. Jun ran towards it and then stopped short."It looks surprisingly clean," said Jun. "For a house that hasn't been lived in for years.""Hey are those footprints?" said Kazuya, inspecting the footprints. "Someone's been here lately.""The windows are spotless too," said Jin. "I can see a light inside one of the rooms."They entered the house and saw someone sleeping on a makeshift sofa. It was a middle-aged man with sandy brown hair. There was a hat and an old oil lamp on the table."Who's that guy?" asked Jun. "I've never seen him before.""I don't know him too," said Jin. "But he seems familiar.""I know exactly who he is," said Kazuya. "It's that German speleologist!""Who?" asked Jun. "Who is that speleologist and what is he doing here?""This guy has been missing for years," said Kazuya. "It's Dr. Kliesen's husband! It's Leonard Kliesen!""Wait so it's Leo's father?" asked Jin. "But why is he here?""Wait who's Leo?" asked Jun. "And why is his father here?""Leo's a her," said Jin. "But yeah why is he here?""Only one way to find out," said Kazuya, while walking towards him, pulling up his sleeves. "Oh please don't beat him up," said Jun. "We don't even know if he means any harm.""What? No! I'm not gonna beat him up," said Kazuya. "I was only gonna wake him up and ask why is he here."Jun nodded as Kazuya woke the German speleologist. He sat up being very surprised. "What? Who are you?" he asked. "What are you doing here?""I was about to ask you the same question," said Kazuya. "What are you doing here?""This is my parents' house," said Jun. "This is where I grew up. We never sold this house. What are you doing here?""I um uhh," said Mr Kliesen. "I just found this place and decided to stay here for shelter.""So you've been spelunking around here?" asked Kazuya. "There is only one cave here.""Wait how did you know that I am a speleologist?" asked Leonard. "Do I know you?""Your wife worked in my company for years," said Kazuya. "It's not a surprise that I know you.""Your family has been living without you for so long," said Jin. "They don't even know if you are alive.""Fine I'll tell you why," said Leonard. "I was stuck in a cave in Kagoshima for years. I only recently found a way out.""But how did you live without food?" asked Jun. "Did you have a lifetime supply?""No there were trees there," said Leonard. "There were many trees full of fruits that were delicious. I've never seen those trees elsewhere. The place, even though it was a cave, it didn't seem like one.""You must have been stuck in another dimension," said Jun. "It happened to me once but I was able to escape.""Fascinating," said the speleologist. "Well I guess I can leave now.""You're coming with us," said Jin. "There's an extra bedroom in our chalet that you can use. We'll be leaving Yakushima and return to Tokyo in a few days. You can see your daughter there."They were hiking back to their chalet while talking."So what happened all these years?" asked Leo's father. "Anything that I missed?""Yes, your wife is dead," said Jin. "Leo has been searching for clues that lead to her death.""Emma is dead?!" Leonard asked, shocked. "How? Did you mutate her like Gigas or something?""No, I faked her death," said Kazuya, trying to inch away from Jin. "So that she can live in the lab and work for me day and night. In fact, she helped to create Gigas."Leonard was very shocked to hear all of this."What the?" said Jin, roughly shaking Kazuya. "That was so evil of you! But then again, considering your bloodline... how did she agree to do so?""I threatened her," said Kazuya, and Jun gasped. "I threatened her that if she doesn't work for me, I'll kill Leo.""How could you do such a thing?" asked Jin, shaking Kazuya even harder. "You separated her from her family just so you can make her work for you?! So who's buried in her grave? Another one of your victims?""A dummy," said Kazuya, and was followed by a gasp from Leonard. "A dummy that looks realistically like her.""So she isn't dead?" said Leonard. "My Emma is alive? So where is she?""She's given an apartment room next to the lab," said Kazuya. "I'll release her as soon as we go back.""Well you better," said Jin, finally releasing Kazuya. "You better make up for what you've done.""Yes I will," said Kazuya, while rubbing his shoulders. "I'll use the chalet phone and tell them to release her."They reached the chalet and Leonard freshened up while Kazuya called G Corporation to tell them to release Emma. "Uh sir..." said one of the employees. "About that...""What is it?" said Kazuya. "Just release her scot free!""She's missing," said the employee. "She is no longer here.""What where did she go?" asked Kazuya. "Do you know?""No sir," said the employee. "Since there is no CCTV in the lab, nothing is recorded.""Fine I'll do something," said Kazuya and hung up. He turned to the others. "Good and bad news. Emma has escaped but we don't know where she went to.""Call Nina," said Jin. "She might know where to look. She and Emma were good friends.""Okay I will now," said Kazuya and dialled. "Um I don't know her number. Here, can you call her?""Yeah wait," said Jin. "I know her number by heart.""Hope Emma's Okay," said Leonard, coming out of the room after freshening up and hearing the conversation. "I hope she managed to escape to somewhere safe.""Don't worry Leonard," said Jun comfortingly. "She'll know where to go. She'll be safe."
