The surprising discovery

"What do you mean we're in for a surprise?" asked Anna. "Who are they, now?" Nina turned the person around and saw who the person was. They couldn't believe it."What the?" said Nina. "Emma?!""Dr. Kliesen?!" said Steve. "She's alive!""Quick revive her," said Nina. "She owes us an explanation."They started reviving her and she got up. "Nina?" said Emma. "Nina, How did you get here?""And how are you still alive?" asked Nina while giving Emma her fallen glasses. "Everyone thinks you're dead. Even poor Leo still mourns your death and is looking for information about your death!""You have to do some serious explaining, Doctor Kliesen," said Steve. "Why did you fake your death?""You look familiar," said Emma. "Who are you?""Well you helped me escape when I was young," said Steve. "I'm Steve.""Steve?" said Emma. "You're Steve? The Steve that I helped to escape when I was at the Mishima Zaibatsu? You're Nina's son!""Enough about that now," said Anna. "Now tell us about yourself.""Well G Corporation had to fake my death because they were planning on making me work on their experiments full time," said Emma. "They threatened to kill my whole family if I refused.""So who's buried in your grave?" asked Nina. "Were you dug out or something?""No that one's a dummy," said Dr Kliesen. "They prepared a realistic dummy to look just like me. They couldn't kill me because if they do, my knowledge about science goes with me but they need it! So they faked my death so that I can stay here and work full time without the knowledge of anyone.""That's kinda mean," said Nina. "They separated you from your family just so you can work for them?""Yes that's right," said Emma. "But I tried very hard to contact Eleonore. I left a letter at my so-called grave saying that she should look into the Mishima Zaibatsu for more clues and also so that she can know about you, Steve.""But why me suddenly?" asked Steve. "Because I know you'd be looking for your parents too," said Emma. "I know you'd return to the Zaibatsu to look for answers about your past.""We've gotta tell Leo about this tomorrow," said Steve. "She'll be so happy.""No please don't!" said Emma. "Kazuya will get her killed.""No he won't," said Nina. "Kazuya's on vacation with Jun and Jin.""Jun returned?" asked Emma. "Sorry I don't know anything that has been going on outside. I have been kept in the lab and I'm not allowed to leave except for sunlight.""Yes she returned," said Anna. "Kazuya has changed after that. But how come I didn't know that you worked here?""The fact that I worked here was kept secret," said Dr Kliesen. "Even most employees don't know about me working here. Only the employees that provide me with my living essentials know about me.""Hey wanna leave this place?" asked Nina. "There's a secret entrance.""Where?" asked Emma Kliesen. "I've checked all over the place but I didn't find any entrance.""The manhole cover," said Anna. "That was the only way to enter here unnoticed.""But there's no ladder," said Dr. Kliesen. "I've checked.""All we have to do is jump in and land on our feet," said Nina. "It's not that high."They opened the manhole cover and went down to the sewers. They went to where they left their bikes and climbed the ladder to the top. "So I guess Emma has to squeeze in with you two," said Nina. "I can't possibly squeeze another person with Steve."They somehow squeezed into Anna's bike and set off. Steve gave his helmet to Dr Kliesen. They arrived at Nina's mansion and sat down on the sofa. "It's getting late," said Nina. "We should really sleep.""Yeah we should," said Anna. "My eyes are shutting." "Where can I sleep?" asked Emma. "Can I just sleep on the couch?""No there's another room," said Nina. "Come on you can sleep there for the night."They all slept and woke up very late the next day. "We should call Leo," said Nina during breakfast. "She'd be very happy.""I don't know," said Emma. "We should tell her anyways..."They called her and she came. "What did you find out in G Corporation?" asked Leo. "Anything important? Anything useful?""Yes we got plenty," said Nina. "Me and Steve were looking into a computer for information and then we heard noises behind us and found the most important clue that we could possibly get.""And then we chased it," said Steve. "We caught it and came back here.""So what is it?" asked Leo. "Is it the right answer to my mother's death?""Well... yes it is," said Anna. "It's right here with us. You have to see it to believe it.""Okay then bring it," said Leo, getting excited. "I wanna see it with my very eyes.""Wait I'll bring it," said Nina and went to the bedroom to fetch Emma. She came down with her. "There here's the clue.""What the?" asked Leo, shocked. "You were alive the whole time? But how? Where were you?"Leo ran up and hugged her mother as tight as she can. Emma explained everything that happened to her."So do you know where's dad?" asked Leo.  "I think he's alive. It's just what my gut says.""I think so too," said Emma. "We have to find him.""Wait so if you're alive here," said Leo. "So who did I bury?""A dummy..." said Emma. "That was a very realistic dummy made to look like me.""That's just pure evil!" said Leo. "Me mourning for you all these years and then you are just working in the lab?""I'm sorry Eleonore," said Emma. "But they threatened to kill you.""You think I'll let that happen?" asked Leo. "You think I'm that vulnerable?""You'll understand if you're a mother," said Emma. "No matter how strong my daughter is, I can't bear to have her in danger.""Aww thanks mom," said Leo while hugging her mom. "You're the best mom ever.""You wanna stay the night over?" asked Nina. "You know, sleepover?""Yeah sure," said Leo. "I've got my overnight bag in my car, I'll go and get it."She went to her car and got her overnight bag that contained a few clothes, pyjamas, some toiletries, a scarf and a first aid emergency kit."Okay I'm all set," said Leo. "Mom, do you have any clothes?""No I haven't changed since I escaped the laboratory," said Emma. "I guess I'll just have to borrow some of Nina's clothes.""Yeah sure you can borrow some," said Nina. "I have plenty that you can borrow."
