Epilogue

~~~YEARS LATER~~~

"Excuse me. Are you Peeta Mellark?" A voice came from behind Peeta in the Garden. He jolted around to come face to face with a girl with snowy white hair and blue piercing eyes. Undoubtably one of President Snows Daughters.

"How can I help you?" He asked standing up thankful Katniss was busy at home with helping her mother with their daughter who came down ill.

"I'm sorry to startle you but I was going through my mother's things and thought you should have this." She said as she handed him a photograph and a paper that said.

Peeta eyes widened seeing his last name on the paper. His eyes stitching together on who it could be.

"My mother never told us but her real name was Emery Hazel Mellark-Reinswood. I guess she didn't want to come between your family? But I thought you like to know." The girl replied. Peeta looked at her in shock and unease.

"I'm sorry for what my father has done to you and everyone else. After my mother died he became the evil hateful president that everyone knows to be." There was a silence for a moment.

"She never agreed to it. She actually fought with him about it all the time. And was actually able to hold him back but he loved her so much that once she was truly gone he had just snapped. Turned cold to everyone even his own flesh and blood.." She said Peeta looked at her with a little sympathy.

"I don't mean to sound conceded. I know it doesn't give him a right to what he's done. Especially to you but I thought you should know a bit about your family history which is probably extremely out of line which I apologise for that I only see that now." She said bowing her head in regret for coming here now. Peeta pondered on a thought.

"What's your name?" He asked. Looking at the white haired girl. She looked at him with a small smile.

"Hazel Emery Snow." She replied. Peeta nodded slightly. Hazel cleared her throat. "I should probably go. I'm it was nice meeting you."

"Could you tell me about her sometime? I would like to know what she was like if she is family." Peeta spoke. Hazel turned her her and gave him a smile.

"I would like that as long as it's okay with your wife." She said. Peeta nodded.

"I'll see you around." And with that Hazel turned around making her way back to the train that awaited to take her home. Feeling a bit of relief that she made contact with her relative. His calmness reminded her of her mother.

"What did that lady want?" Katniss asked Peeta. He looked at her.

"You won't believe me if I told you." Peeta said in a breathy laugh. Katniss furrowed her eyebrows at him.

"I'll explain it then." He said. Katniss nodded not wanting  to push him any further before they took each other's hand and walked inside.

  In the end Lucy Gray and Sejanus got their revenge and in return brung peace to the districts as well as the capital. Thanks to the rebels and the Mocking Jay. Emme lived a happily life until her time had come just before she turned 50 where she greeted death like an old friend as she watched the rebellion begin in the clouds next to the two who set the match..
