07:20, 24 December 2023Mary wakes up the next morning to her sisters alarm blaring. Tatum and Dewey are outside waiting for the twins so they can go to school. In a hurry, Mary hurries up and puts on the simplest outfit that she can think of. A simple hoodie and leggings would do just fine. "I'm sorry I'm late." Mary says out of breath to her friends, while Tatum just rolls her eyes. "Nothing new babes." Tatum says. Everyone but Dewey laughs at the joke as they make their way to the school.
Once they get to the school, they see that the property is filled with reporters, cameras and everyone looking to get an interview. Six Police Cars, Four News Vans. It's almost overwhelming to the younger twin, but she is completely aware of what happened last night. Casey Becker had died, her boyfriend dying with her. As she walks up to the school, she rolls her eyes and scoffs as she sees Gale Weathers front and center reporting on it. The reporters swarm Mary and Sidney as they try to make their way to the front. Mary feels someones arm go around her shoulder, and looks up to see Stu trying to get her through the crowd. "Out of the way assholes." He says trying to make room.
"Do you believe this shit?" Tatum says with a scoff. Sidney looks over at her best friend confused. "What happened?" Sidney asked oblivious. Mary rolled her eyes subtly at her sisters unknowing behavior. Tatum explained to Sidney and Mary that Casey and Steve were murdered the night before, and that it was worse than how they found their mom. The three girls separated, going their own ways, and planning to meet up with their friends later on at the courtyard for lunch.
At Lunch:
Tatum, Sidney, Randy, Billy, Stu and Mary all sit in a circle at the fountain, eating seedless green grapes for lunch. They were talking about how they were questioned for the murder of the girl who once went to school with them. Stu had mentioned that they asked him if he liked to hunt at his questioning. "Hunt? Why would they ask if you hunt? They didn't ask me if I hunt." Tatum said confused. "Because there's no way a girl could have killed them." Stu said almost too obviously.
Mary and Billy shared a dark look between each other before listening to their friend again. Tatum went on to rant. "That is so sexist, the killer could easily be female.. Basic Instinct." Tatum said defending herself. Randy retorted back about how that was an ice pick and a completely different situation. "Yea, Casey & Steve were completely hollowed out. Takes a man to do that." Stu said, almost proud of himself. Mary sent him a glare and replied "Or a man's mentality". Stu put his hand over his heart, mockingly offended.
Sidney began to look uncomfortable and out of place as the conversation went on. "How do you gut someone." She asked almost to herself. Stu, once again, took the liberty to answer this. "You take a knife and slit from groin to sternum." Everyone rolled their eyes at him and groaned, Mary hitting her best friend over the head, and Stu wincing. Billy looked at Stu darkly. "Hey its called tact, you fuckrag." Stu apologized but the conversation kept going. Randy kept going on about the murdering when Mary looked at him and punched him in the arm "Hey.. didn't you hear Billy.. Shut the fuck up." Mary said to her friend, as he winced from her punch. Billy & Stu exchanged glances between each other then glanced at Sidney's younger sister.
Sidney, coming out of her daze and back into the conversation. "Hey stu.. didn't you use to date Casey?" She asked her friend curiously. Stu was caught off guard by this.."yeah, for like two seconds" he laughed. Randy looked at him in mockery. "Yeah, before she dumped you for Steve." This caused Stu to get offended when Tatum mentioned that she thought that Stu dumped Casey for her.
Shortly after, Randy implied that Stu could've killed Casey, and how it would improve his high school "Q". Stu looked at him with fake sympathy in his eyes. "I didn't kill anybody." Stu said, looking Randy directly in the eyes. Almost simultaneously.. Mary & Billy both looked at him. Billy more defensive than Mary was. "Nobody said you did." They both replied at once. "Thanks buddies." Stu replied to them both. Randy kept going with the conversation, asking Stu if he left the liver in the mailbox, next to the pancreas. Stu saw Sidney getting noticeably upset. "Liver Alone!" He laughed.
Sidney annoyed and upset with the conversation, left the fountain to head to class, while Tatum followed. Mary looked at Stu, and smacked him upside the head, while Billy hit him in the stomach. "Ow.. Liver Alone. Liver.. it's a joke." Stu said, as the other two rolled their eyes and left for the next class.
