Chapter 3: The Demo

The guys left at around two in the morning. Dave was asleep on the couch next to me, and i got up. I groaned. I still had school work. I shook his shoulder gently

"Dave" i mumbled "wake up dumbass" i said louder and he opened his eyes, confused. He smiled a little when he saw me and closed his eyes again "no" i said grabbing his arm and pulling him "get in bed" he whined and stood up, stumbling to our room. I heard him fall onto the bed. I didn't want to think about waking him up tomorrow morning to take me to school. I quietly got my homework and sat on the bed next to him, and started doing it.

I didn't sleep at all, and i only had thirty minutes before school by the time i was done. I was taking AP classes, so i had a shitload of work. I threw my pencil at dave

"Wake up" i said and rubbed my eyes. I got up, headed to the bathroom, and turned on the cold water. It always wakes me up. I was washing my hair when the door opened

"Dave?" i asked

"Morning" he said in a hoarse voice

"What are you doing in here" i laughed and pulled away the curtain a little to see him. He

Smiled at me. He was just sitting on the counter

"Nothing" he said and shrugged "how'd you sleep" he asked.

"Well, truthfully, i didn't" i said and turned off the water "had to finish up schoolwork" i said and yawned "can you get me a towel?" i asked awkwardly, i didn't really mind getting out, it was just a little weird.

"Sure" he said and got handed me one "today you better finish it before bed" he said and i wrapped it around myself, getting out. I went back into our room to get my brush, and he followed me.

"I'll try" i said and he grinned, pleased that he won an argument that hadn't escalated. I looked at the clock and i had five minutes until we had to leave. Ten until class started. I quickly took off my towel and got a clean pair of jeans grabbed a random pair of my jeans, and what turned out to be Dave's shirt. I put all my schoolwork in my bag and dragged Dave's ass out the door with me. It was an odd life i was living. And it was all kind of catching up to me and slapping me in the face. He handed me a joint and lit it up for me. I took a drag and blew it in his face, giggling.

He closed his eyes and sighed happily. He laced his fingers with mine and we eventually got to the front of the school.

"You better get an A with how late you stayed up" he said "can i kiss you before you go?" he asked and i rolled my eyes. Did he know he didn't have to ask?

"Of course" i whispered and he bent down to kiss me sweetly. When he pulled away i bit my lip, and took off for the building.

That day was just like the last. I got it, it was mind numbingly boring, dave joined me for lunch, and then some more class, then Dave picked me up. It was like that for the next month. When we got home i plopped on the couch, turning the tv on. I felt exhausted. Whatever was on, held no interest to me. Dave was next to me surprisingly interested in what was on. I sighed and snuggled up to him, and he put his arm around me gently, kissing the top of my head

"Jackie" he asked softly. I closed my eyes. I was dead tired. I felt like falling asleep as soon as i touched him

"Hmm" i replied trying to stay awake. He was so warm

"Will you be my girl?" he asked. I couldn't even concentrate on his words

"Sure" i said and laid my head in his lap "sure" i mumbled again. He stroked my hair over and over, and i faded out quickly.

When i woke up again i was sill in the same spot, daves arm draped around me. The tv was still going and i gently lifted his arm off me and got up. It was dark in the room, except for the glow of the tv, and i walked into the kitchen to turn the light on. I looked over at him, he was fast asleep, his head leaned back. I smiled at him. He was a great guy, truly. It was my turn to cook dinner, we decided that was the only it was fair. Although, most of the time it was me cooking, because he always burned it. I looked in the fridge and pantry. There wasn't a whole lot, we'd have to go shopping later tonight. Spaghetti was the quickest thing there was to make, so i did, glancing at Dave every so often to make sure he was still asleep.

I was just about to put the food on plates, and i glanced over and he wasn't on the couch. I just sort of stared at the couch in a daze, wondering where he'd gone, when he wrapped his arms around me from behind. I screamed

"I'm sorry" he apologized tiredly, wrapping his arms tighter around me. I sighed and closed my eyes. I was so... happy.

"It's okay" i whispered "now let go old man" i giggled "you hungry?" i asked as he let go and sat on the counter

"Always" he grinned. I smiled and handed him a plate. We didn't have a table or anything, there really was no need. I sat on the counter across from him and we started eating

"Wanna go to the store with me after dinner?" he nodded, noodles and red sauce coming from his mouth. I giggled. He slurped it up "are you finished with your schoolwork?" i shook my head

"It's friday, stupid" i smiled and washed off my plate, taking his and washing it off as well "it's also winter break starting today" i said. I grabbed his coat and we walked out.

We got cheap stuff, bagels, beer, lots of frozen pizza, pasta, stuff like that. Dave ran off suddenly (something he does often) and came back with a box of condoms grinning at me

"Subtle" i said and rolled my eyes. He laughed and shook his head

"Not for that" he said and i giggled

"What else are they for"

"Water balloons that we can throw at the neighbors" he said like i was dumb if i didn't know. He threw them in the cart. We got to the checkout, and i was starting to run low on money. I sighed and paid.

"Dave" i asked when we got home

"Yes, princess" he replied putting away the food in the fridge

"Do you think you could maybe get a job?" i asked quietly

"A job? Like what" he asked and chuckled "i don't know if anyone would hire me" i rolled my eyes, getting serious

"Im being serious, David" i said and he frowned "i have like a hundred bucks left, and we need to eat"

"Okayokay" he said and put his arms up "i'll try" i nodded and grinned at him

"So we're dating" i asked, turning around to do some dishes. He sat on the counter again and grinned proudly

"Changed your mind so soon?" he asked. I shook my head

"Not at all" i said "we've kind of already been there for a month" i shrugged "but im sixteen" i smirked at him. He grinned and put a hand on my cheek

"I don't care" he said and sucked on my bottom lip softly "your mine now" he whispered. I giggled and wrapped my arms around his neck, smiling at him.

"So you'd risk going to jail for pedophelia?" i questioned him "that won't look too good when your trying to get a job"

"Well you look old enough" he said and kissed my neck a little "lets just run away" he whispered "get married" he mused and i giggled

"I already ran away. But in have school in three weeks, so we'll have to wait" he groaned jokingly and the phone someone knocked on the door. He kissed me quickly

"This will have to wait" he said and hopped off the counter, to the door. It was Junior. He looked like he was about to explode. Dave barely opened the door when he let himself in

"They loved the demo!" he exclaimed "he said maybe even a tour!" Dave's eyes got wide.

"If your fucking with me i'll kill you" dave said, triyng to keep his voice even. Junior shook his head vigorously

They hugged each other, while i watched, smiling. This was great for him. I was so proud of him, that he didn't let Metallica crush him completely. After they were done yelling about that he came over to me grinning more than i'd ever seen him grin before.

"May i?" he asked excitedly looking at my lips. I rolled my eyes and nodded. He pushed his lips roughly into mine and kissed me. I pulled away

"So, how do you feel" i asked grinning. He put his hands on his head

"Fucking insane, Jackie" he said smiling "fucking insane" he repeated. The rest of the band shuffled in by the hour, and drinks were being passed around heavily. I let dave go at it... he deserved that. I would just have to deal with him later. I had a few drinks, but mostly just stood around, watching them get wasted. They all decided it was a great idea to go to a club, but none of them had enough money to pay for us both, and i wasn't about to spend half the rest of our money on club drinks, because trust me, he'd want a lot. They all stumbled out of the door

"Take a cab!" i yelled after them and looked at dave. He was standing up slowly chuckling to himself. He ran a hand through his hair and looked at me. I laughed at him

"You have no idea how wasted you are right now" i giggled. He stumbled towards me "come on" i said getting up "let's get you to bed"

"Good" he mumbled and slipped his tongue in my mouth. I pushed him off me gently. This wasn't really how i wanted this to happen. He looked down, then tried on my neck. I sighed and pushed him away again.

"Dave" i warned

"Fine" he grumbled and we walked back to our room. He tripped and landed on the bed, laughing. I rolled

my eyes and crawled next to him. He got on top of me

"Dave what are you doing" i groaned. I had no idea he'd be this persistent

"Making love to you" he said and kissed me softly. Part of me just wanted to let him. I wanted to, but I couldn't.

"No..." i said and shoved him off me "your not!" i said, close to yelling, tearing up. Even if i wanted to, i couldn't. I just couldn't.

"Princess" he whined "please... i want you" i wiped a tear off my cheek and

"Night" i said bitterly and left the room. I didn't feel like sleeping without him, it was always so cold in here since the heater didn't work. But he was being ridiculous. I decided to take a shower, then get back in bed.

After i got out, and combed my hair i realized i didn't have any clothes. I groaned and quietly went into our room. He was passed out on the bed. I grabbed one of his shirts and put it on and crawled in bed with him. He stirred and wrapped his arms tightly around me. I couldn't help but smile. I kissed the top of his head. He looked up at me, tiredly

"I love you" he mumbled and smiled like a little kid, closing his eyes. I bit my lip

"Go back to sleep" i said softly and snuggled up to him.
