{promise me} Rumi x Jinu

The girls came in already slouching from how tired they were after the lake day.

Zoey threw a bag of towels onto the floor and was already making her way for her bedroom not even bothering to say another word.

Mira was worse she practically stomped into her bedroom and shut the door behind her disappearing.

But Rumi?

Rumi was standing there biting the inside of her cheek nervously waiting for a text... a text from jinu

They had agreed to meet tonight and talk after lake day so they didn't talk about whatever was going on between them in front of everyone but so far nothing.

Rumi was about to just give up and go to bed but just as she sat her phone down a ding noise came from it

Rumi picked up her phone fast and unlocked it and read jinus chat

RUMI AND JINUS CHAT

Jinu: "can I pick you up?"

Was all jinu said without any context but he didn't need any Rumi was already typing back

Rumi: "yes"

*jinu liked the message*

OUT OF CHAT

Rumi paced and bit the inside of her cheek waiting for jinu to show up and threw on a hoodie and grabbed her keys exiting the apartment as silently as she could giving Mira and Zoey were sleeping and then she went downstairs to wait in the lobby

{SAJA BOYS}

jinu was moving around trying to be as silent as he could inside his room and exited his room shutting the door behind him very silently giving his roomates were sleeping

Or so he thought

Just then a voice

"And where do you think you're going?" Baby said sitting on the couch in the dark

Jinu practically jumped out of his skin and let out a loud scream and put a hand over his chest dramatically

Baby then clicked  on the lamp revealing his face "come on I couldn't have been that scary" he said his voice in a mocking way

Jinu exhaled heavy of relief and then lowered his hand from his chest "dude you almost gave me a heart attack attack" he said looking at baby in a confused way

Baby didn't laugh thought he crossed his arms still sitting on the couch "you didn't answer my question" he said his voice low but stern

Jinu ran a hand through his hair "I- uh- " he stammered" "I was uh" he then put his head back in annoyance "it doesn't matter what are you even doing awake?!!" He questioned

Baby chuckled and looked at him "I was asleep but my loud ass roommate was probably not just waking me up but the whole house" he said his voice annoyed and tired

Jinu put his hand up "my apologies" he said his voice calm

Baby raised an eye brow

Jinu then pointed to the front door "anyways imma go so night" he said quickly trying to go

Baby shook his head "ah!" He said stopping Jinu from walking "where are you really going?" He asked his voice suspicious

Jinu looked at baby in defeat he was going to come up with a lie but none were popping into his head "I..." he then closed his eyes in defeat and sighed heavy "I'm going to see Rumi"

"Aha!" Baby said his voice in a 'I knew it' tone and he slowly clapped "proud of you for being honest"

Jinu chuckled slightly but more of an awkward annoyed way "yeah yeah well imma go now" he said reaching for the door

Baby nodded and got up clicking the lamp off and walking off to bed clearly proud of himself

Jinu let out a shaky sigh of relief and then left the apartment locking the door behind him

TIME JUMP- pick up

Jinu arrived to pick up Rumi and smiled slightly as she got in the car and he looked at her "hey" he said gently and softly

Rumi looked down and then at him and smiled but it didn't quite reach her eyes as if something else was wrong "hey..." she said back

Jinu looked at her and swallowed hard he could see that her mind was racing with thoughts but he knew he should hold off on questions until they got somewhere they could talk

The whole drive was silent and Jinu was going a steady pace on the high way he kept stealing glances at Rumi but she would never look back and it confused him what could be so wrong he thought to himself

Rumi then looked at Jinus hands on the steering wheel and then looked outside hesitant before asking "can you pull over?" She asked quiet

Jinu looked at her and nodded and found a dirt road and turned to park so he was off the high way and looked at her "what's up?" He questioned

Rumi swallowed hard again and then unbuckled her seat belt and opened the car door and got out

Jinu sat in the car confused before opening his car door and following her "where are you going!" He called out after her

"I need to think!" Rumi called back still walking away going deeper and deeper into the woods

"Think!?!" Jinu called back his voice confused as he followed her deeper into the woods "think about what!?!

Rumi swallowed hard still walking despite him following "all of it!" She called back

Jinu looked down confused  and jogged slightly so he could close the distance and then stood in front of her "will you just stop and talk to me?" He asked his eyes intense as they looked down at her

Rumi looked up at him she looked like she was gonna break at any minute "I can't" she whispered looking down

Jinu shook his head confused "you can't?" He asked his voice very confused

"No" Rumi replied looking back up at him her gaze broken "I can't keep doing this" she said her voice broken

Jinus eyes softened when he saw how broken she looked and he then put a hand on her cheek so she'd keep looking at him "do what?" He asked giving her his full attention

"This!" She said her voice loud but broken "whatever this is!" She said her hand moving between the two of them

Jinu swallowed hard and shook his head "did I do something?" He asked his voice soft as if mad at himself

Rumi shook her head and looked back at him her eyes welling with tears "no" she said her voice broken

Jinu looked at her confused but kept his gaze soft as he saw how broken she was "then wasn't going on come on talk to me" he begged "I'm right here just talk to me" he said his voice soft but firm so it would really get to her

Rumi felt a warm tear roll down her cheek and she tilted her head up to look at him "I thought you were dead... and it ruined me.." she said her voice breaking with every word

Jinus eyes softened even more and he took a deep breath "Rumi... I'm not dead.... I'm right here" he said reassuring her

Rumi shook her head and smiled slightly through tears "that's the problem!" She called out "your right here but your not" she said

Jinu looked slightly confused and nodded "I'm here" he said his thumb wiping away a tear "I'm right here" he said softly

Rumi just broke at his words warm tears falling from her face

Jinu didn't hesitate and he pulled her into a hug rubbing her back soothing and had his chin rested at the top of her head "I'm so sorry" he said his voice a whisper

Rumi clung onto his shirt and hid her face into his shoulder her body shaking with sobs that escaped her "you left" she sobbed "you left me" she said again

Jinu felt his heart break at her words he didn't wanna see her cry especially not because of him "but I'm here now" he said and pulled away slightly just to look at her "and I'm not leaving again" he said looking at her and nodding with every word he said

Rumi smiled slightly through her tears and wiped them "promise me" she said gently her voice still broken and she put her pinky up as a pinky promise

Jinu chuckled slightly at her gesture but then wrapped his pinky around hers "I promise you" he said looking right at her so she knew he wasn't lying

Rumi nodded and smiled and hugged him one again

They stayed like that for a little longer with Jinu comforted her and Rumis emotions getting the better of her but they then walked back to the car getting in and driving away
