Spark of Romance

A/N:WA-PUSH™ TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA LADDIES! 😂😂 I'm sorry. Hey guys! Ronnie here! Sorry I haven't posted in a while! School started up again and High School teachers don't understand how hard it is for us lazy beans to get moving again! But here you go!

On the afternoon of the fundraiser, I, quite reluctantly, put on a nice romper that I'd gotten in New York. I put on a jean jacket over it. (Pic above). As I was doing my hair, Mom came in.

"You look great dear!" She said happily. She always loved when I dressed up. Which was rare. She came over and helped me with my hair. I have never pulled it up before.

"Thanks Mom" I said, standing up. She smiled and hugged me. "Have fun tonight dear. And don't stay out too late" she said. "Don't worry Mom. I won't" I said.

Then there was a knock at the door.

Mom squealed like a child and left the room. I rolled my eyes, adjusted my romper in the mirror, and followed.

I got into the living room just as Mom answered the door. "Travis! What are you doing here?" She asked. "Didn't Ronnie tell you? I'm taking her to the fundraiser" Travis' charming southern voice said.

Mom looked at me and squealed again. "Ronnie you didn't tell me this was a date!" She said excitedly. I blushed deeply. "Wha- it's not a date! I-It's just.. we're going as friends!" I stammered.

Mom giggled. "Sure Sweetheart" she said, stepping aside to let Travis in.

Travis wore a button down, red, long sleeved shirt and blue jeans. He had his infamous cowboy hat on and his hair was tidied up a bit.

He looked at me and smiled softly. "You clean up well" he said, "for a city girl"

I rolled my eyes and smirked at him. "Not so bad yourself Blondie" I replied, putting a hand on my hip.

He chuckled "c'mon. Don't worry I'll have her back before midnight" he said to Mom as he led my outside.

He led me to a truck and opened the door for me. After I got in, he shut the door behind me and got in on the driver's side.

He looked at me and smiled then began to drive down the road. It was silent in the car as we both tried to come up with something to talk about.

I stared out the window, humming softly. Little did I know that Travis kept glancing at me over and over again.

I looked over at him while he was watching the road and smiled slightly.

We finally parked and got out of the car. We'd only been in it for five minutes but in awkward silence it can seem like forever!

I looked around as we entered the building. There were a lot of people there. Music played all around us. It was actually pretty nice.

Travis looked at me. "Pretty cool huh? I helped set the first one up" he said. I nodded and looked up at him.

"You are a lot more complicated than I thought Blondie" I said with a smile, stealing his hat again.

He chuckled "so are you" he said, looking down at me.

I smiled and looked around. People were dancing and sitting at tables. Everyone looked like they were having a good time.

Conveniently a singer came on stage and started singing a slow song. Travis took my hand and practically dragged me to the dance floor where couples were dancing.

"Travis I don't dance" I said as I followed him. "If you can build your own small robot then you can dance" he said, placing my hands around his neck and his hands on my waist

I found myself blushing at this. I didn't know why I was though. I looked up at him and said, "You are impossible". "I know" he said with a small smirk.

We swayed to the music and he spun me around. I actually began to enjoy myself. He dipped me and I looked up at him with a small smirk. "Didn't take you for a dancer Brody" I commented. "Like you said. I'm complicated" he replied simply.

I smiled slightly as he stood us up straight. "What else is there to do at these things other than dance?"

He looked at me. "Do you sing?" He asked. I flushed. "Not in front of people!"

"Maybe it's time to change that" he said, taking my hand. "No Travis. No no no." I protested as he dragged me toward the stage. "C'mon what's the worst that could happen?" He asked

"I faint when I get too nervous Travis" I said. He stopped walking and looked at me. "Fine. I won't make you sing. This time. But one of these days, I'll get you singing" he said

"Yea right" I mumbled under my breath. He took my hand again and led me outside

"Where are we going?" I asked as he led me to a field not far from the building. "I want to show you one of the best parts of Crowley Corn" he replied as we stopped walking

"What do you mean?" I asked. He picked me up and sat on the ground. "Um excuse me. Put me down." I said, glaring at him. He laughed and set me on the grass beside him.

"Why are we down here?" I asked. He laid back in his elbows and said "look up"

I looked up and my eyes widened. Above us was the most amazing sight I'd ever seen. The night sky was beautiful. Full of bright twinkling stars, the moon shining brightly. I'd never seen anything like this in the city and I couldn't help but gape at it. Travis chuckled as I laid beside him. "Pretty amazing huh?" He asked, looking at me.

"It's beautiful" I breathed

Travis's POV(Wooooah I did it again!)

I watched in awe as her turquoise eyes reflected the starlight up above. She was absolutely beautiful.

She looked at me and caught me staring. "What?" She asked. Her voice was quiet, keeping the peaceful air around us.

"Nothing.. just admiring one of the most beautiful sights in Tennessee" I said softly.

She nodded, looking back at the stars. "It is amazing" she said. She clearly didn't get that I was talking about her.

"I bet you do this with all the girls. Show them your stars and your waterfalls?" She said, looking at me with a small smirk

"Yep. Then I take them on my horse and ride into the sunset" I joked. She laughed. Her laugh was light hearted and like music to my ears.

"I didn't actually want to move out here you know.. but now I'm kinda glad I did" she said, looking at me.

"I'm glad you did too" I replied, laying a bit closer to her. She smiled and laid on her side looking at me. I did the same.

"I'm having fun tonight Blondie. You're pretty cool. For a country boy" she said, smirking and taking my hat.

I chuckled "you're amazing. For a city girl"

She smiled and I could see a hint of pink on her cheeks in the moonlight. We laid back again and looked at the stars some more

We walked back to my truck in comfortable silence. I opened her door for her and then got in on the driver side.

I drove her home, glancing at her ever so often. She smiled at me each time I did.

As I pulled up to her house, I was sad to see her go. We got out and I walked her to the door.

She looked up at me. "Umm I had a lot of fun tonight"

"I did too" I replied. She smiled and looked at her door. "I'll see you tomorrow.. we could go out riding or something" she said slowly

I nodded. "Sounds fun."

She smiled, looked at the ground, then back at me. She tucked a curl behind her ear then pecked me on the cheek.

I looked at her in silent surprise, blushing. "Night Blondie" she said, giving me a smirk and going inside.

I couldn't help but grin as I walked back to my truck. "Night Ronnie" I mumbled to myself as I got in and drove off.

~Ronnie's POV~

I leaned against the front door as I listened to the sound of his truck fading. That was my first ever night out with a guy. I'm not ready to call it a date yet. But it was so much fun.

Mom must've heard me come in because she came to the door right away. "How was it? Was it fun? Tell me everything!" She said.

"Jeez Mom you're more of a teenager than I am" I said with a gentle laugh. She smiled

I faked a yawn. "I'm bushed. I'm gonna go to bed" I said, heading to my room

"Alright dear good night!" Mom chirped

Smiling, I went in my room and closed the door. Then I flopped on my bed. Tony looked at me and buzzed. "What a night" I whispered to the little bot. He shrugged and walked to his charger and pointed

I plugged him in then flopped on my bed again with a happy sigh. I yawned and hugged my pillow, drifting into a deep sleep.

Tada!! Nite you guys!
