Chapter 18

06:46, 21 September 2013

When I woke up, there were a million messages on my phone. They weren't the good kind of messages either.

Apparently, some magazine took pictures of Cody, Meredith, Alli, and I on the beach. A couple of the texts sent pictures asking if this was me. The magazines were spreading rumors like a wild fire. It wasn't good.

I got up from the blow up mattress that I was sleeping on in Alli's room. I walked out of the room and went to Cody's room.

He was still sleeping. I walked over to his bed side. His eyes fluttered open. He smiled and grabbed my waist and pulled me on the bed with him. He didn't have his shirt on.

"Cody, stop," I giggled. "I need to tell you something."

"What?" He groggily asked. He turned around to face me.

"Have you checked your phone yet?" I asked him.

"No, why? What's wrong?" He was concerned. He grabbed his phone and looked.

"What should we do? I-I-"

"Shh. It'll be okay," He ran his fingers though my hair. "So, I guess the only question now is are we, ya know?"

I didn't know what to respond. "I-I don't want our relationship to be ruined if, ya know, we..." I didn't want to finish.

"It won't. I won't let it," He looked me in the eyes. "So, what's your answer?"

I got up from the bed.

"We can't keep quiet forever, ya know," Cody got up from the bed, too. He put his arms around my waist. I didn't want him to, so I grabbed his hands off my waist and faced him. "Decide by tomorrow. The press'll want an answer."

"I know," I whispered.

Cody took my head and put it to his chest. I wrapped my arms around his waist. We stood there.

"Some people will make up anything to get money," Brad said in disgust slamming down a magazine.

Cody's phone rang. "Hello?" He answered. "Yeah, I understand." "I'm waiting. I don't wanna rush it, ya know?" "Okay." "Yep." "Bye."

"Was that Justin?" Brad asked.

Cody nodded. "He thinks I should do an interview soon and clear this up."

"Me too," Brad said.

We watched movies, because it was too dangerous to risk going outside.

Cody put his arm around me. I didn't reject. I snuggled right up against him.

"So I'm guessing you are saying 'yes' to the girlfriend question?" Meredith blurted out.

"Shh, Meredith. I'm watching the movie," I didn't want to talk about that. I didn't want to think about that.

"Ohh, I see how it is," Meredith said.

She didn't. She wouldn't see how it is between Cody and I.

That day was uneventful otherwise, which was good I suppose. Cody had gotten some calls from people that work with him asking what happened. He responded with something along the lines of 'I'll take care of it, don't worry'.

I had problems sleeping that night. It was around midnight. I got up and went to Cody's room to see if he was awake.

I was about to reach the door handle when it swung open. I gasped. It was Cody.

"Couldn't sleep?" Cody whispered.

I nodded.

He turned back around and walked into his room. I followed, carefully closing the door behind me.

"Made up your mind yet?" Cody asked sitting on his bed. When I didn't answer, Cody spoke, "It'll be difficult to have a long distance relationship, ya know, but it'll be okay."

"I feel like we are rushing things, but, uh, I like it. I like you," I admitted.

"I understand. I like you, too," Cody smiled. "But, uh, I need an answer."

"Sure," I blurted out.

"Yes, you'll be my, uh, girlfriend?" Cody looked shocked.

"Yes, yes," I answered.

Cody got up from the bed, grabbed my waist, pick me up, and twirled around. He gently kissed my neck.

"Don't worry about anything, alright? I got it," Cody whispered in my ear.

It's like he knew what I was thinking. I was worried about how his fans would react, what the magazines would say, what he would say in the interviews. The list went on and on.

"Happy Valentines Day," Cody said.

I looked at the digital clock Cody had in his room. It was 12:04am. That had completely slipped my mind. I never celebrate Valentines Day, because I've never had a 'Valentine'.

"Yeah, Happy Valentines Day," I said back to Cody.

He kissed me. "Go back to bed now."

I didn't want to go now. I wanted to stay with Cody. I quickly kissed him and left his room. I was about to go back to Alli's room, but I decided to go to back to Cody.

I opened the door. He was getting back into bed. I ran over to him and jumped in his arms.

"What?" Cody asked holding me.

"I wanna stay with you," I said. I looked at him. He smiled and leaned back into bed. I lay next to him. I put my head on his chest, my head moving with every breath he took. I fell asleep.
