Chapter 5

We already go back where Jenny and Kiel were waiting, and decided not to buy the ice creams.

"L-Lucas..." I reached out. I'm kinda far away from him, because of a lot of people walking around.

Lucas turned then reached his hand out. "Hold my hand."

I involuntarily held his hand and grabbed me towards him, landing on his chest.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

I found my balance and stood up, looking away. "Y-Yes.."

"There's a lot of people around, let's stick together and hold my hand tightly," He said as he looks around. I nodded slightly and held his hand tight.

We scooted between a lot of people until we got out. We saw the bench we sat earlier but...

"They're not there.."

"Eh? We lost them?!" I exclaimed.

Lucas dragged me towards I don't know where and said, "Let's find them.. Tch why did they walk away in the first place?"

He must be really worried for Jenny...

But... For some reason..

I realized that..

Isn't this double date just become a single date?!

JENNETTE'S PERSPECTIVE:

"They're late." Kiel sighed.

"You're right..." I agreed, leaning back.

Athy did not came back 5 minutes ago and we got worried so I told Lucas to find her so here we are, waiting.

It's kinda awkward being alone with a person you had just met.

"Should we find them?" Kiel asked.

"If you say so.." I shrugged, and besides I can also watch the stalls. We walk away from our seat and headed where Athy went.

"So... Jennette, right?" Kiel said, glancing at me.

I turned my head lightly to him. "Just Jenny will do.."

".... Okay, how long you two been uuh, close? Athy I mean?" He shrugged.

"Oh! We're cousins actually so we met uuh.. At five..? It's been so long.." I chuckled.

He turned to me with wide eyes. "You two were cousins?"

I scoffed. "Yeah, why are you surprised about that?"

He paused for a sec then said, "No wonder you two are a bit alike."

"Hehe, some people always said that." I flushed.

And to be honest, I'm always happy when they say that, cause I always idolized Athy since we were kids. But I don't really think that way, Athy is very cheerful,friendly and smart, while me is shy, a bit cheerful and not really friendly to new people. The only same thing for us is our eyes.

I don't know why we are so alike..?

"It's the ice cream stall." Kiel pointed out.

I beamed. Ugh.. I really want to eat ice cream right now. But no Jenny!! We must find Athy!!

Kiel must've been seen my expression cause he suddenly dragged me towards it.

"Eh? Why are we..." I glanced at him, confused.

He turned his head slightly then smiled. "You want ice cream right?"

My eyes widened. "Really?!"

"If you want to.." He chuckled.

I jumped beside him. "I want some!!! But what about Athy?"

"We'll find them after we buy your ice cream."

"Really?! Really?!"

"Hehehe..."

"W-What?" I pouted.

He suddenly flicked my forehead. "You're such a kid.. Let's buy now."

"I'm not a ki--" I got cut off as I bumped to someone by the shoulder.

I felt something warm on my hand and saw Kiel holding my hand tightly.

"Eh?" My eyes slightly widened.

"There's a lot of people.. You might get lost," He said.

I just stared his back, as we walk through the crowds.

Huh... It's weird..

For some reason....

Why's my heart beating so fast?

"I texted Kiel," I said as I look up from my phone. "He said we'll be seeing each other at the Ferris Wheel."

Lucas just nodded and look up to the sky, painted red. It's now noon and this date is about to be over, finally.

I just stared at him for a sec then look down. I recalled what happened at the entrance.

"You must really love her, huh?"

"Very much."

He's totally not lying about it... He's so worried about Jenny, not bothering me who's trying to talk to him.

I raised my pace heading to that stupid wheel, I really want to go home now...

"Hey, wait up!!" Lucas followed.

I did not listen to him, I just walk and walk until he grabbed my arm, turning me to him. His eyes suddenly widened as he saw my face.

"What's wrong?" I scoffed.

He caressed my cheeks, wiping the tears on my face.. Tears? Am I crying?

"Why are you crying?" He frowned.

I immediately pushed him away and wipe the tears away. "Just dust... Came into my eyes.. No big deal... Haha.. Ha."

Lucas just stared at me as if he don't believe me. Oh please... Just act like you believed it.. I don't want you to comfort me cause you're the one who caused this.

"L-Let's just go..." I breathed and walk away, but I can tell that he's following me.

I saw Jenny and Kiel laughing eating some ice cream at the entrance of the Ferris Wheel.

Great... Now she's with Kiel...

I immediately ran towards them as they saw and waved at me. But then they got pushed in the cabin by the worker.

What the..

Lucas stood beside me, watching at the two being lift up by the wheel. Why did this have to happen?!

I sighed and sat at the nearby bench, Lucas followed me silently still staring at their cabins. Even these two are apart, they can still looked very in love. And I hate it.. Really, really hate it.

Hahaha... Why do I get jealous, we're not even dating... There's nothing between us.. Just friends then boundary..

JENNETTE'S PERSPECTIVE:

I peeked outside the window and saw Athy staring at us. Why did we stand at the entrance?!

Kiel suddenly handed me his handkerchief, I just stared at him in confusion. He leaned towards me and wiped something at the corner of my mouth.

"You got some ice cream on your face." He chuckled.

I suddenly blushed slightly and look away. Lucas never did this to me.. He just handed me a tissue or something...

He leaned back and sighed. "Now we're stuck here for 15 minutes.."

"Y-Yeah... Sorry for dragging you here.." I apologized, staring at the metal floor.

"It's okay." He smiled. "It's nice to see a nice view from up here."

We chatted for a while until I can see Athy's face as we go down slowly. She looked hurt..

I turned to Lucas, who is staring blankly somewhere..

I don't know why.. But I felt something wrong between them.. That makes me feel that.. I didn't have to go here.. Or go in between them..

As I thought about that... I didn't even feel angry or annoyed..

And also yesterday at Athy's house, I somehow didn't get jealous at their closeness.. It's like they're dating..

And when I'm with Kiel.. It feels different with Lucas.. It's more fun and exciting..

What is this...

For some reason... I wished...

If only that.. Athy and I could switch places..

Would Athy be happy with Lucas..?
