A New Sun
20:34, 21 January 2022"Welcome back, my princes." Heimdall greeted as soon as the brothers' feet touched the polished golden surface. They both nodded accepting the greeting. "Thor, we should teleport directly to the palace." Loki suggested. He was not in any mood to cover the distance by walking or riding on horseback.
"Very well." Thor agreed and after holding each other's hands, they teleported directly to the main gate. The guards bowed and pushed open the door. As soon as they entered, they were greeted by Frigga.
"My sons." She rushed forward and engulfed them in a hug. "It's so lovely to have you both near again." She said caressing their faces. "Thor, go and get refreshed. Odin will talk to you in morning."
Thor nodded and kissed her forehead. "As you say, mother. Good night mother. Good night brother."
"Good night Thor." Loki said, nodding while Frigga kissed Thor's cheek.
"And Loki." He turned towards his mother. "Come with me."
They reached his room. " Oh! I thought I would be dragged to the dungeons. Odin never fails to surprise me." He snickered causing Frigga to frown.
"Don't start again, son." She warned. "Come and sit beside me." She dragged him with her and they sat on the bed. "You're changed, my son. I'm so happy!" She smiled warmly, cupping his cheeks.
Loki scoffed. "Who said I've changed?"
Loki is clueless. It's not at all that he expected. He expected to be bound in chains and then hauled away to his ever unwelcoming cell. A heart to heart conversation with his mother in his own room was the least he had expected. What the hell is going on?
"Mother knows the best my child. I see you were soo happy all these days in Midgard. You are practically glowing!" She chuckled making him frown.
"I don't glow mother."
"How was everything? Did you make friends there?" She asked excited, clasping her hands on her lap. A small smile tugged at the end of his lips at the mention of the word friend.
"Yeah! Many friends. I earned their trusts."
"It seems like my bracelet did wonders." Loki scoffed at that. " I wore your bracelet for just two days. It was completely useless and painful."
Frigga was surprised. "It was enchanted. How did you remove -"
"I didn't. Rose did." Frigga cocked her brow. "Rose..."Loki smiled widely, nodding. "Yes. Rose. She's my best friend."
"It wasn't an ordinary bracelet. And only get two person can remove it- me and... Bless the Norns!" Frigga's eyes widened at the thought.
"Mother? Why am I summoned here?" Loki's question snapped her back to the reality.
"Uh... I don't know son. Odin had a discussion with Heimdall and then ordered Hugnin and Munin to call both of you." Loki hummed. "And I don't think there's any need to be worried. Everything will be alright." She said, placing a hand on his shoulder. Loki hummed again.
"So...care to tell me about the girl, Rose?" Loki's eyes snapped towards her and his face broke into a wide grin. "I wish you could meet her. She's lovely. Beautiful and kind. Adorable and silly." Loki sighed, taking her hand in his. "It's Rose who convinced the Avengers to give me a chance to prove myself. She's the first friend I made. I call her pudding." Loki blabbered.
Frigga smiled. It seems like she has got back her long lost innocent boy. She felt like talking to the Loki who had just came back from his classes and is now emptying all that had happened, just like he used to do when he was a young boy.
" ...and Munin said he likes her. Now just imagine how sweet and special she is! Have you heard anything what I was saying? Why are you smiling like that?" Loki asked, irritated.
Frigga laughed. "Sleep now my son. I'll hear more about her later." She got up and kissed his forehead.
"I'm sure you will like her." Loki said, smiling.
"I like her already, Loki." Frigga winked, smirking and closed the door.

In Avengers Tower
Rose lied down on her bed, staring at the night sky. The moon is out of sight but the dark sky is filled with twinkling stars. She tried to make something by joining the stars but failed. All she could make was different shapes of poops and crooked smiling faces. With a fraustrated huff, she closed her eyes and massaged her temples.
The day had been a hell for her. First the brief fight with the spies, then one of them escaping. Her suspension from missions and insults regarding her sanity. And then like the cherry on top of her misery- Loki left. Not a single day of her life has passed without any problems or a drop of tear shed. And today's day was too much for her.
She sighed and opened her eyes, focusing again on the stars.
" L...O..." She muttered under her breath, pointing her finger at the stars and joining them. " K... I... Loki." She smiled. But the smile faded as the thought of never again uniting with him crossed her mind.
" God! What's happening to me? Why am I feeling like this?" She rolled over her side, her heart heavy and restless as another sigh escaped her lips. "Jesus, just keep him safe. I don't want anything else." She prayed and tucked her hands, under the pillow.
After some minutes of tossing and turning, she got up and walked near the balcony. This night is going to be long. She took a deep breath and started humming a song that she felt is appropriate for the moment but her mind was on somebody else.

In Asgard
Loki already missed her.
He clutched the pendant that hung from the thin silver chain around his neck. Yes, it was the same crystal but dark green in colour. He hadn't informed Rose that the crystals come in pairs and works only when both the wearers think about each other at the same time. So the question is that why didn't he inform Rose about it? And the simple answer is that he had forgotten about it at that moment.
And he's regretting it.
He hugged his pillow tight to his chest, trying to sleep but whenever he closed his eyes, her face floated behind his eyelids, making his heart race. "Ughh!!" He growled, irritated.
Suddenly, he heard someone humming a song. He sat up as he recognised the voice. "Rose!" He clutched the pendant to find it vibrating slightly. "She's thinking about me too." He thought, smiling as laid back on the bed.
He closed his eyes and the humming changed into a song he didn't know but it calmed his racing heart and troubled mind. "I never knew she sings! Norns, her voice is as melodious as an angel!" He muttered. "You're a mystery darling..."
His eyelids started to get heavy. He yawned, his ears focused on her song. As her song changed to humming again, he stopped fighting and surrendered to the sleep, a smile on his face and his pillow hugged tight against his chest.

"Ceiling man, what's the time?" Loki yawned, scratching his head. His brows furrowed, when he didn't get any answer. "Ceiling man- oh! Uh oh!" He cracked open his eyes when he realised his present surrounding. He's not in Midgard anymore. He's in his room in Asgard.
"I hate everything..." He groaned, rubbing his eyes with his palms to wipe off sleep.
*knock** knock*
"Enter." He ordered. The door creaked open and a young girl of eighteen maybe, entered the room with a tray in her hands. She bowed, her eyes down.
"God morgen my Prince." She bowed again.
Loki smirked. "Why aren't you kneeling?"
The girl's eyes widened. "M-my Prince?"
Loki bit back his laugh. "Keep it on my bed." He pointed at the tray. "Y-yes Prince." She hurriedly placed the tray where asked to.
"Does my Prince wants me to arrange his clothes?"
Loki waved his hand. "No. You may leave."
"As you say my Prince." She bowed quickly and rushed out of the room.
Loki grinned seeing the maid so scared. Of him.
He got down from the bed and stretched his hands, yawning when the door creaked open again. "M-my Prince?" Loki turned his head to find the same maid standing, her head down.
"Why... you again?"
"F-forgive me my Prince. I-I have an important message-." She shuttered.
"Don't stammer girl. Just say it." Loki interrupted her. " Don't be afraid. I won't eat you."
"Thank you for the assurance my Prince." Loki rolled his eyes and flicked his hand at her to continue the message. "Allfather demands your presence in the throne room."
Great way to start a day...
"Done?"" Yes my Lord." She bowed and turned to leave when Loki stopped her again, a mischevious grin on his face. "WAIT!"
The girl froze and slowly turned to face him. Loki walked towards her, with slow and measured steps."Y-yes Prince?""Kneel." Loki snarled, his expressions dark as he towered over her small, shivering frame.
The girl paled. "P-p-prince?" "I SAID - EHehehehe!!" He burst out laughing seeing her scaredy face, unable to put up his dark face anymore. "Ehehehe! Oh! You may leave." He waved at the shell shocked, stupified girl who blinked thrice before sprinting out of the room.
Loki wiped his eyes, still laughing silently. "Oh! It feels so good. " He sighed, happily.
He brushed his teeth and ate his breakfast. He quickly bathed and after wearing his formal Asgardian clothes, he sat down on the bed waiting for some guards to come and drag him to the awaiting Odin. He has to face his punishment today. Outside he maintained a calm, don't care face but deep inside he was flipping and twisting with nervousness.
What can be the punishment? Will his lips be sewn again? Or his tongue will be cut out? Will he be publicly beheaded? Or will be thrown back into his old cell for his whole life where he couldn't meet his mother or...Rose.
He can't stay alone in that cell anymore. If he does, he will surely lose his sanity this time.
No! Death will be a better punishment.
"Brother?" Loki was dragged out of his daze by Thor who stood at the door, watching him. Loki stood up.
"Ready?" Thor asked. Loki nodded and looked behind Thor. "Where are the guards?" Thor shook his head. "I was asked to escort you to the throne room."
Loki frowned at him. No guards! Strange...
"Let's move brother. Don't worry. Everything is going to be fine." Loki didn't reply but just nodded his head. His heart was thumping too hard for his liking. "Let's move Thor..."

At Avengers Tower
Rose POV
I lay awake on my bed. It was 9 in the morning but I couldn't move. My back was killing me. Yupp! My blasted uterus is bleeding again.
"I won't get up today. No..." I kept muttering, my eyes squeezed shut as I bit back my groan. God! I feel like killing myself. This pain is worse than anything. It seems that someone is tearing out my ovaries and all with hot tweezers. Even breathing is painful for me. And my stitches are paining too.
*knock**knock*
"Come in." I managed to croak out. The door opened and Mr. Stark entered with my Mickey mouse glass sipper. "You didn't come down for breakfast so I brought you this. Cold coffee with extra scoops of vanilla ice cream." He smiled and sat beside me.
" Thank you so much Mr. Stark!" I tried to sit up but groaned as the pain intensified. "FUCK!!""What happened? Are you- Oh!" He realised it.
"Can't I change my sex, Mr. Stark? " I whined. He laughed. "No need cupcake. I prefer you as a girl. Now try to sit." He tried to help me but I denied. "I can't! It pains. Soo much!"
He sighed. "I'll ask Bruce to give you some painkillers.""Oh! Thanks again Mr. Stark! I owe you my life!""Don't be so dramatic. And don't make this a habit. Painkillers shouldn't be made a habit during these days."
I nodded. "Ok! Now can you...pwease!" I pleaded, using the most powerful weapon of mine- puppy eyes.
"Don't look at me like that, kid! I'm bringing the pills. Take this." He handed me the cold sipper and left.
I took a sip and almost cried. It's sooo delicious!! I placed the cold glass on my exposed skin of lower tummy and sighed in relief.
"I am so smart!" I grinned and took a big sip. I wondered what Loki was doing now. Suddenly I remembered the pendant and my hand flew to clutch it. It was cool to touch.
"Loki? Can you hear me? Umm...are you well?" I murmured against the crystal but got silence in return.
Wait a second...
He had told me that he can hear me through the pendant but...how can he reply me back? He didn't tell me anything regarding this matter. I mean how will I know if he's listening to me or not? That means this pendant is totally useless!!
"What!? Oh no! I'm such a fool! I should have asked him about it! Now how will I talk to him? Oh no! Dammit!!" I slapped my head. What if I never get to hear his voice? He's such an asshole! How the hell did he forget to tell me about it? Tears welled up in my eyes.
"Dammit! Why the hell am I becoming so emotional?" I sobbed.
But then again, anger replaced my sorrow. "I swear by the name of the mother who birthed me, I'll kill that tricky bastard. He called me a fool but he's the real fool. A dumb goldfish! How can someone forget to say such an important information? Just let Thor come..." I took in a deep breath.
"But God! Keep him safe and out of troubles... I miss him so much!" I sniffled and started sipping the divinely delicious cold coffee with vigour.

The door opened and the Princes of Asgard entered the throne room. Loki was confused. He wasn't shackled. No guards to drag him. What the hell is going on? They stepped near the steps that led to the throne.
"Father." Thor bowed."Allfather." Loki bowed, stiffly.
"Rise my sons."
Loki's right brow crinkled. Sons!?!
He looked up at Odin. No sign of anger but amusement.
"Is he alright, Thor?" Loki whispered to the blond Prince but before Thor could open his mouth-
"I'm very fine, Loki. Thank you for your concern." Odin's voice boomed throughout the huge hall. "I am surprised. To have you here so earlier than I had expected." Odin started.
"Trust me, I'm surprised too." Loki shrugged and gave Odin his infamous not-so-genuine smile.
Odin scoffed. "I thought you were going to spend the rest of your life in Midgard because changing isn't in your nature." Loki raised his right brow, not getting the main point. "I was shocked!" Odin said, eyeing the younger son.
" 'Shocked' or 'surprised'?" Loki asked, taking a step forward.
" For you it's 'shocked', dear. " Odin retorted.
Loki rolled his eyes.
"Don't roll your eyes on me, young man!"
Loki huffed as Odin continued.
"You are here, almost after two months, standing before me, changed." He emphasized on the word 'changed'. "Heimdall had informed me that you have behaved properly with everyone. You didn't try to kill anyone unnecessarily and didn't try to dominate. You've learnt to co-operate. So, *sigh* your punishment is over."
Loki was gobsmacked. The last four words kept echoing in his mind. Your punishment is over your punishment is over your punishment is over your punishment is over...
"You want to say something?" Odin spoke up loudly, breaking his daze. He composed himself and hid his badly shocked face behind the normal amused one. "I'm shocked, Allfather."
"Not surprised?" Odin asked.
"In these types of cases, it's 'shocked' for you."
Odin chuckled. "I expected nothing less from you." He banged his gungnir on the floor loudly.
" I, Odin Borson, King of Asgard and the protecter of the nine realms, completely restore your title of the Prince of Asgard and you will be referred again as Loki Odinson." The words rung in his ears, again and again and again. He couldn't believe his ears and eyes. It all happened so quickly and unexpectedly. He was forgiven.
Odinson. So much for that title. So much for that prestige.Huh. Did he want it anymore? Did he want the favour of his so called father anymore now?
Loki kept quiet. He was comforted by the thought that he won't be punished but the title didn't make him happy anymore. He wants to be free of these bounds and boundaries.
No Laufeyson. No Odinson. Only Loki.
But still he didn't object. He didn't complain. He kept quiet.
Thor patted his back, startling him. "I am so happy for you, brother. Congratulations!" Thor boomed. Loki nodded his head accepting his greeting.
"Loki Odinson." Loki's heart skipped a beat, hearing the word. It felt so strange.
"I hope you will carry on with your good ways." Loki bowed this time, his ears drumming. "I'll try."
"You should. And..." Loki looked up at Odin who trailed off. " Who's this Rose you spoke so highly of, to your mother last night?"
The trickster's ears became slightly red. "A...a friend. Good friend." Loki shuttered.
"She's lovely father!" Thor pipped in. "Very beautiful with a heart of gold and magic in her fingers. I call her my sister." Thor beamed. " She's the reason Loki stands here today with us, with his title restored." Odin hummed, his eyes on the young prince who had his eyes down and was smiling slightly.
"Might be a special mortal...""She is, father." Thor added.
"Loki. Go back to your room and start your normal day, excluding any mischief." Odin ordered.
"Will I never get to visit Midgard again?" Loki asked, his voice dripping with unsaid hopes.
"No. What for?" Odin asked back.
"Nothing just... I... It's nothing..." Loki turned and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Odin turned to Thor. "Son, tell me now, who is this mortal actually?"
Finished...umm. I don't know if it's good or not... But I tried my best. If you liked it, then please don't forget to vote and comment...Till my next update. Bu-Byee! Love ya all 3000!!♥️🥰😘
