"Walk fast , Stevie. You're so slow!" Rose dragged Steve across the corridor and then stopped at a locked door.
"What are we going to do here?" Steve asked, confused. This was the room where important files about everyone in the tower was kept, including Loki.
"Patience my darling. You know the password, right?" She asked, tapping her feet impatiently. Steve nodded and typed in the password. The door opened with a click and the lights turned on.
"Say now. " He asked again as they sat in front of the single computer in the room.
"I've to check the file of Loki." She answered, switching the computer on.
Steve frowned. "Why suddenly?"
"I want to know more about the New York invasion. All the things that's related to it. Everything. Just curious." She smiled and turned her attention back to the screen.
After going through the folders for atleast half an hour, she found what she wanted.
"EUREKA! GOT IT!" She yelled enthusiastically, startling the poor captain.
"Very well. Go through it then." He stretched himself, leaning back on the chair and closed his eyes, huffing.
"Tired ol' man" Rose mumbled under her breath.
"I heard that!" Steve gave her a fake offended look.
She started to drink in the information. Everything that her eyes fell on. Then she clicked open another folder containing photos of the destruction. While scrolling through the pics, she stopped at one.
"Steve! Steve! Look at it." Steve yelped when she poked him hard in the ribs.
"What?"
"Look at this." She pointed to a photo of Loki.
Steve narrowed his eyes, staring at the pic. " He looks so...evil."
"Oof! Not that. Look at his eyes. What colour are they?" Rose hissed.
"Icy Blue. Glowing bright blue." He replied, still confused.
"And now? What colour do we see now?"
Steve thought for a few seconds." Umm... I think...green. Green!"
"Exactly! Now look at this." She clicked open another pic. Clint's, when he was under mind control.
"Say the colour." "Same... Bright icy blue." "But is it the true colour of his?"
Steve shook his head slowly. "No. They are blue-brown."
"What can it be? What do you think?" Rose asked, a bit shaky. If what she's thinking is correct, then...
"Clint was controlled, so his eyes were this glowy blue. It means...Loki."
Steve trailed off, realisation dawning on his shocked face. He pinched the bridge of his nose. "It's a great blunder then." He muttered.
" Jarvis. Call rest of the team here except Loki. Quickly."" Yes sir."

The team sat quietly, listening and and looking at the pics Rose showed them."Thor, can Loki's eye colours change?" She asked. Thor shook his head. "They were always green."
"And Clint?" "No." "Ta-da! I proved that both Loki and Clint were possessed by that...erm..." "Glowy stick of destiny?" Tony offered."Yes!" Rose nodded. " Glowy stick of destiny."
"Why didn't we noticed that before?" Natasha asked.
"Because we were not in any condition to check someone's eyes that time." Tony replied.
"But are you sure about it?" Bruce asked, running a hand over his face. Rose shrugged. "Let's ask Loki. Jarvis, please ask Loki to teleport here quickly."
"Alright Rose."
After a few seconds, Loki teleported in the room and crashed on Bruce, startling everyone. They both grunted in pain but Loki jumped back, quickly, scared.
"H-hey! Don't be angry! It's just a mistake. Calm down!"
"Ow! Don't worry. He won't come out." Bruce said calmly, rubbing his head.
"Okay. Loki? Why were your eyes so blue during your attack?" Rose asked, grabbing his attention.
Loki's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected question. "Why?"
"Look here." Rose showed him the screen. The rest of the team kept their eyes on his face. He had paled a bit. "They were blue. Just like Clint's when he was controlled. But your eyes are green. Why?" Loki hesitated.
"C'mon Rudolph. Spit it out. Don't hesitate." Tony urged.
"I was mind controlled. Just like Birdman."
"You were controlling me but who was controlling you? It's Clint Barton, by the way." Clint glared at him. Loki gulped.
"Say it, buddy. Maybe we can help you." Rose said, a warm smile on her face. He gulped again. His mouth was dry. "You can't help me... He's...His name is...T-Thanos." There was silence in the room.
Everyone was shocked and a bit concerned too, seeing the proud God shutter and flinch at the name.
He looked vulnerable.
"Who is-"
"Don't ask me anything regarding this matter. I-I don't want to talk about it." Loki interrupted Steve. They immediately dropped the matter. Judging by the looks of him, it was not a good topic to discuss now.
"It's ok. You're safe now. It's all over." Bruce tried to calm him but he shook his head, his gaze locked on the floor. "I don't know if it's over or not. I don't know if I'm safe from him or not. But whatever I've done, will continue to burn my soul." He took a deep breath.
"My past will continue to haunt me..." Loki sighed and his eyes widened when, surprisingly Rose joined, saying that with him. Together.
All their attention shifted to her, who had changed back to her real, hidden form. " Umm... sorry!" She said softly, her voice breaking. Steve patted her back, thinking that she has got emotional.
"But... Why didn't you tell us brother?" Thor asked, pain evident in his voice.
Loki snapped his head towards Thor, his eyes glinting with loathe. "What do you think Thor, Fa-Odin would have heard me? Has he ever heard me patiently? Would you all have believed a liesmith?" He sneered. "Odin was so busy in licking your feet and singing your praises and you! You were busy, to keep up your image of ' Father's Obedient Son!' and ' The Golden Prince of Asgard!". You had the time to check on me? Huh?" Loki spat.
The tension in the room was thick. No one wanted to be the audience of the brothers' family problems.
"And what about mother, Loki?" Thor asked, after a moment of silence.
Loki's eyes softened. "Mother... I didn't want to trouble her. I was nothing but a trouble to her in my whole life. A burden." He replied, his gaze dropping down back to the floor. "Mind controlled or not, that doesn't change the fact that I did destroy many lives."
"Let's stop this discussion here. I'm going to get myself a cup of coffee. Will you come?" Clint said, patting Loki's back.
Each one of the team was shocked at this unexpected behaviour of Clint. Loki was taken aback. "Are you...I mean..."
"C'mon now. Nat, guys come out." He said, pushing a baffled Loki out of the room. Natasha, Bruce and Thor followed them.
"Wow! Katniss morphed! I need a scotch now!" Tony declared, amused.
"You won't come?" He asked to Steve and Rose. Steve got up but Rose remained seated, silent.
"Rose?" "I'm sleepy. Good night."
Steve and Tony shared confused glances. "Dinner?"
She shook her head. "Not in a mood." She quickly hugged the duo and teleported away, leaving behind green puff.
"What happened to her? All of a sudden?"
Steve shrugged. "Hormones. Mood swings."
Tony rolled his eyes at the answer.

Rose POV
I teleported to my room and staggered a little, but didn't crash down. My powers are returning back. I removed my mask and sunk on the bed, processing what Loki said.
Past haunting the present... Family problems...
Family.
I've always wondered, what would have happened if I had a family. If my parents hadn't abandoned me. Would my life have been better then?
Yes.
It would have been a beautiful life. A beautiful family, consisting of me, my loving parents and mischievous siblings. No experiments. No tortures. A beautiful childhood. Just like the rest fortunate children.
I don't know what my parents look like. Are they dead? Or still alive? If alive, do they know about me?Do they miss me?
Should I hate them for ditching me? Of course.
I have the full right to hate them. And I hate them with every fibre of my being. All the problems I have faced in my life are because of them. They could have killed me, in the very beginning. That would have spared me such a disgusting hell like life.
But no. They deserted me. And I had to die everyday. Each, single day, I was forced to crave death. But death too, just turned her back and left me. Alone. In that dark, cold room. Where I spent my whole 20 years, without a glimpse of the sun.
Was that a life for a girl with hidden dreams?
I walked near the balcony. The beautiful starry night sky. The calm city. Everything seemed so peaceful except for my mind. A storm howled inside me, turning my sanity upside down.
"Dad... Momma..." I took in a deep breath. "I wish I could meet you someday, if you're alive till now. To show what I have become. To show how much I hate you." My eyes burned with unshed tears of anger and frustration. "People like you don't deserve to be parents."
I looked up at the glittering sky. "And if you're dead, then I wish your soul never finds peace. I'll never forgive you." I whispered, the words burning on my tongue. "I'll never ever forgive you. I hate you."
Finished!!! *phew* Feeling a bit bad for Rose. There's still a lot of parents who after the birth of the child, abandon them. Sometimes due to poverty or simply when they don't need one. *Sigh*
