Good Morning
08:04, 24 July 2022~1 year timeskip~
Mirabel exhaled as she held onto the doorknob of the door. "Make your family proud." She smiled.
Her head then turned from the door to your sleeping form. "Right after I wake up this one."
She hopped onto your bed; the movement resulting in you pulling the blanket over your head.
"(Y/N)~" Mirabel called in a singsong voice. "C'mon, get up! Today's the big day!" She giggled, completely ripping the blanket from off of your body.
You flinched as the cold air met your skin, and you curled up into yourself.
"Mirabel." You groaned into your pillow.
Throwing your blanket onto her bed, she grabbed your arm, attempting to pull you out of bed.
"(Y/N), come on." Her voice strained as she tried to pull you off, but you wouldn't budge.
There was a knock at the door, and the door opened. Camilo entered, gracing the room with his presence.
He laughed when he saw your sleeping body. "She's still not up yet?" He asked.
"I've been trying to get her to wake up for the past two minutes." Mirabel huffed, dusting off her dress and fixing her hair.
"Leave it to me. You can go help set up." Camilo said, shooing Mirabel with his hand.
"Hm, alright, if you insist." She shrugged, opening and walking out the door. But before she closed it, her head popped back in.
"Don't try anything funny." She eyed him and pointed a finger at him before completely shutting the door.
Camilo chuckled and looked back at your sleeping body.
Your perfect and smooth hair laid on the pillow as the other half of your hair cascaded down the edge. The nightgown you wore stressed your curves, and it made Camilo blush a bit.
He stepped closer to your bed and leaned on it with one hand, the other shaking your arm gently.
"(Y/N)~" Camilo cooed, receiving no response from you.
"(Y/N)?~" He called again. You shifted a little, but it was only after a few seconds you went back to sleep.
Standing there, Camilo thought of some other ways he could get you to wake up. And out of the few ideas he conceived, he chose the one that most satisfied him.
He then went as far as laying in bed with you and hugging you from behind.
"(Y/N), mi amor, it's time to get up." He whispered in your ear.
His words sent chills down your spine, and you hummed at the feeling, beginning to move around.
Taking Camilo's arms off of you, you turned around, so that you were now facing him. And wrapping your arms around him, you pulled him closer to you, your face now buried in his chest.
"Five more minutes..." You said, your voice muffled.
Camilo blushed at the sudden movement, his heart melting at how close you were to him. But then he had another idea pop into his head.
"Of course, mi amada, but you're gonna have to turn back around again so I can hug you." He lied, sounding quite convincing.
Half asleep, you turned to face the wall and expected for Camilo to hug you again. But you got confused when you felt the side of the bed become lighter.
"Um, Camilo?" You asked, about to turn around.
All of a sudden, you felt arms lift you up from under you and realized that Camilo was carrying you bridal style.
"Camilo?! Ay, p-put me down!" You held onto him, secretly wanting the opposite of what you said.
You wouldn't lie, you were kind of enjoying this.
"Are you up yet?" He smirked, twirling you around.
You yelped and held onto dear life as he did so. "Yes, yes! I'm awake, I'm awake." You repeated, making sure he heard you.
You looked up at him, that smirk of his never leaving. God, you loved that look. It made you melt inside.
Your eyes were like a galaxy, in which his eyes stared deep into yours, never looking away.
Camilo hummed in satisfaction. "Alright, you're awake."
He placed you down gently, hugging you afterward. "Good morning, hermosa."
You were lost for words. "I—Um, good morning." You stuttered.
He let out a low chuckle before letting go. "I'll leave you to get ready. I'll see you later though, okay?" He smiled, looking down at you as he held your hands in his.
"A-Alright." You smiled back.
"Alright, later, (Y/N)." He kissed your forehead and left the room.
You stood there for a moment before sighing with content and sitting on your bed.
"Ah, Camilo..." You sighed once more, giggling as you looked down at your hands.
Immersed in your thoughts, you thought about how close you and Camilo have become over the past year. What started as acquaintances had now developed into the both of you acting as if you were a couple.
Although, that wasn't the case. But it was something you longed for. You would do anything to be with him. Without him, life felt boring and bland.
Though sometimes you have given it too much thought. You often concluded that he only acted like this because, well, he was a boy.
And the impression boys had on you was that they were liars who only played with the feelings of other people. They do this so that they can feel something, because they find humor and amusement in it. But then again, you never considered Camilo to be like one of those boys.
Besides all the flirting and romantic gestures, he was also honest. Honest to you about anything and everything. He also found comfort in your company and he never once did anything that would insult or offend you.
As if it wasn't obvious enough, you'd say that his love and care for you was genuine. And if that was the case, why didn't he ask you out already?
This is where your hypothesis and conclusion of boys being liars would come in again. And it would just be an endless cycle of overthinking.
All you wanted... was to be with Camilo. But hey, a girl can dream.
Still trapped in your thoughts, you felt the floorboards beneath your feet lift. Leaning forward over the edge of the bed, you grinned. "Morning, Casita."
A clock came rolling over to you, displaying the time.
Your eyes widened as you saw what the time was. "Oh, shoot, I gotta go get ready. Thanks, Casita."
The clock went rolling back, and you stood up, getting physically and mentally ready for the day.
~~~
After completing your morning routine, you made your way downstairs. Walking down the stairs, you greeted the portrait of Abuelo Pedro as you passed by it.
Traveling through the hallways, you took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air. You also gathered in the sunlight of the rising sun through the open windows.
Finally, entering the kitchen, you found Mirabel and the others eating breakfast.
"Finally up, eh, (Y/N)?" Mirabel asked, washing her plate in the sink.
"Yep." You yawned, still a bit drowsy.
Walking past Camilo, you both made eye contact. Noticing the tiny wink he gave you, your eyes widened and a light blush spread across your face.
Walking up to the kitchen counter, you grabbed a cup of coffee that Casita had the pleasure of pouring for you.
"Thanks, Casita." You thanked, downing it all in one go.
You sighed, walking over to the sink. "That hit the spot."
"You okay, (Y/N)? You seem exhausted." Tía Julieta questioned, walking over to the sink with a pile of plates.
"Yeah, I'm alright. I just-" You yawned once more, lowering your tone of voice. "-spent all night making Antonio a gift for his ceremony."
"Ah, I see. Here, let me get that for you." Tía Julieta offered, gesturing to the empty cup you were holding.
"You sure?" You asked, handing her the cup. "I can wash all of those for you. I'm sure you've got a lot of work to do in town, anyway."
"Oh, it's alright, mija. It'll only take a few minutes." She insisted. "After having so many kids and so many dishes to wash, you kind of gather the practice over the years."
You looked at her and shrugged. "If you say so." You gave her the cup and went to go clean the table.
"I guess I'll see you later. Bye, Tía Julieta." You said, finishing wiping down the table and exiting the kitchen.
"Okay, bye, (Y/N)!" She yelled, her voice becoming more distant as you left the kitchen.
You waved goodbye and turned around, only to run into Camilo.
"Oh, Camille! Hi." You laughed, just inches away from his face. A little too close for comfort.
"Camille?" He questioned, also laughing along with you.
"Yeah, Camille." You mocked, stepping to the side. "Don't you like your new nickname?" You asked him, walking up the stairs.
He shook his head. "Nah, my nickname is better."
"What, (N/N)?" You questioned. "I don't know what you're talking about. That nickname's lame."
"It's not lame." He mocked, rolling his eyes. Laughing, he continued to follow you down the breezeway to the nursery.
You smiled, laughing along with him. "Anyway, what's up?" You asked, noticing how he was still following you.
Entering the room, you opened the wardrobe doors. You rummaged through it in search of a certain item.
"Nothing much. I just wanted to come and see you." Camilo said, leaning against your door.
You huffed in frustration, unable to find the thing that you were looking for. You swear you put Antonio's present in there somewhere. It couldn't have just disappeared.
"Oh? But you saw me like, twenty minutes ago." You mentioned.
"I know, but... I just wanted to see you again." He told you. "I missed you..." He whispered.
His sweet and thoughtful words had replaced the frustration that was overwhelming you. Closing the wardrobe doors, you turned around to face him.
You chuckled, booping his nose. "You... are so sweet."
He went cross-eyed as his eyes followed your finger to his nose.
"Alright, come along now. We gotta go help in the village." You grabbed his hand, dragging him with you.
