23:50, 12 September 2024-Where's Hyunjin? Jeongin looked around him fully panicked.
He was covering his ears with his hands as Chan instructed him to do.
Most of them did so.
Some weren't that lucky. The syrens got to Hyunjin too fast. and now he was on his way to damnation.
-Hyunjin, no! Jeongin screamed from the top of his lungs.
It was too late. The son of Aphrodite jumped overboard and dived into the Black ocean to become food for the sea monsters.
Chan whistled twice and a dome of green energy fell above the boat.
-Hyunjin!
Jeongin wanted to jump after him, but Chan caught him by the waist and stopped him.
-Let me go! the god tried to escape his grip.
-To do what? You're going to die down there!
-So is my best friend! Jeongin replied desperate.
Minho looked at Jisung and squeezed his shoulder lightly.
-It's too dark down there, Jisung explained. I can't find him and my fire won't work under water.
Then he felt someone tugging on his sleeve.
-I can help, Felix said shyly.
-What? No! Changbin protested.
-Come with me, Jisung took Felix's hand and prepared himself to use his mother's powers.
He hated the ocean, hated her, but her powers came in handy sometimes. He had to give in.
-You won't survive, Changbin tried to convince Felix to give up.
-Have some faith in me, the human smiled before jumping in the water with Jisung.
-Someone has to take the rudder or we'll go down! Chan yelled as he tried to keep his balance and keep Jeongin safe.
Minho found himself on the other side of the boat with a new mission. To use his father's powers to get to the rudder and keep the boat steady. That's all he could do while his lover was down there.
-Can't I just pulverise them? Changbin's eyes glowed with a hypnotic blue color.
He was out for the syrens' blood.
-I wouldn't do that if I were you, Seungmin stopped him.
-No one asked you.
-We are on Poseidon's territory. Zeus's children cannot use their powers to harm the sea creatures. Not to mention the prince of the Underworld and the son of Hades. Keep your fire away from the sea.
-Then what am I supposed to do, smartass?
-I have an idea, Seungmin smirked.
-We're going to die! Jeongin looked around in horror.
-No, we're not! Have some faith in yourself, Jeongin. I know I do, Chan confessed.
Jeongin watched the dark sky as he held on to Chan. His powers were useless in combat. He was useless. Just like his father told him. He couldn't even fly properly. What a joke.
-Wait... My wings!
Jeongin stood up as his eyes slowly turned to white empty holes.
-Can you make sure I don't fall? Chan nodded and took his hand.
-What are you going to do?
-Use my wings to create a strong wind to stabilise the boat until the waves calm down.
-Yes, do that! Minho screamed from behind. I take care of the rudder.
-Let's hope Jisung can save Hyunjin, the son of Hermes whispered to himself as the worries were eating him alive.
Jisung opened his eyes and spotted a little yellow light in the distance.
He swam towards it with no hesitation and as he got closer he made sense of it. It was Felix, curled up in a ball and holding his eyes shut. His hair was glowing and blood was leaking from his freckles.
Jisung patted him slowly on the shoulder and the human widened his eyes in shock.
-Hold your breath. Let's find Hyunjin and get out of here, Jisung spoke which came as a surprise for Felix, but he nodded and didn't question it.
Suddenly three shadows passed them by quickly, agitating the water around them.
-Syrens... Jisung took Felix's hand to protect him if it was needed.
-Are you sure this will work? Changbin was squeezing a net in his hands, ready to throw it at Seungmin's signal. How are you going to bring them up here anyway?
-With a little trick from my mother.
-Athena?
-Nemesis. How many people are in the water?
-What? Can't you count?
-Just say it!
-Three.
-And you want to avenge them, right?
-I want those stupid fish freaks to leave us alone!
-Just say yes, for the love of Zeus!
-Yes!
-Revenge you shall receive, Seungmin's eyes started glowing with a beautiful purple color.
He raised his hand in the air where scales appeared. He brought them to him and smashed them to the floor. A purple fog covered the whole ship.
-Now!
Changbin threw the net and heard a couple of shrieks. The three syrens were laying on the deck, caught in the net.
-How? Changbin was left aback.
-My mother limited my power in order for me not to abuse it. I can use her abilities only if someone requests revenge. Three people in the water mean three syrens on the deck. An eye for an eye, Seungmin explained.
-Fascinating, Changbin didn't shy away from showing that he was impressed.
-Do you see him? Jisung asked the human who just shook his head which felt heavy as he was running out of air quickly.
It was too dark for Jisung to see anything and he had to keep Felix safe before anything.
Felix knew that and he couldn't help but feel guilty. Only if he wasn't weak, Jisung could help Hyunjin first. Only if he could help too... To save Hyunjin and make Jeongin proud. No matter what it took. No matter how much blood he had to shed.
-Do that again!
Felix opened his eyes confused.
-Your hands. Do that again! Jisung explained.
Felix looked down and saw light coming from his palms. Apollo's power.
-Whatever you were thinking just now... do it again! Jisung grabbed him by the shoulders.
Felix nodded and thought of how Hyunjin and Jeongin took care of him, saved him each time and befriended him despite him being a mere human. How he wanted to help them too. To keep them safe.
Because in the end... they were his family too.
The light balls grew bigger in his hands.
-There! Jisung spotted Hyunjin and dragged Felix after him. Now it's my turn to save us, the titan smiled.
His eyes turned orange as the veins started climbing on his forehead.
He started growing at an alarming pace until both Felix and Hyunjin could fit in his palm. And in a few seconds he was out of the water, only his feet standing tall on the bottom of the ocean like a child dipping their toes into the pool.
-Is that normal? Changbin's jaw dropped when he saw the size Jisung had reached.
-He's never been this big before, Minho watched with horror.
