Chapter 31

*Madison's POV*

After about an hour Austin came home. We walked through the front door with a huge smile on his face.

I put one of Zach's books back on the shelf. "What are you so smiley about?"

He closed the door. "Well, I'm driving back. And I think to myself, holy shit, I have a hot ass fiancé back at home waiting for me." He came over to me. "And then I thought, I also have an empty house and nobody to take my hot ass fiancé's attention." He wrapped his arms around me. "Guess what?"

I smiled. "What?"

He grinned. "You're my hot ass fiancé."

I nodded and patted his chest. "Yep. Have been for 9 years now." I winked.

He grabbed my hips and picked me up, pinning me against the wall. "You're so sexy, Madison." He kissed me and grabbed my butt, holding me up.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed back, our tongues dancing together and our bodies melding perfectly together. My fingers wrapped in his hair and a small moan escaped my lips. He started kissing my neck and I closed my eyes, enjoying every second. Then, he carried me to the couch, dropping me on the cushions. He grabbed the bottom of my shirt and I pushed him away.

"Not here, baby." I said.

He frowned. "What? Why?"

I sat up. "It's just weird. Zachary watches his cartoons on this couch."

Austin looked at me for a second. "Are you serious?"

I nodded. "Yeah." I smiled and took his hand. "But, let's go to our room." I tried to kiss him and he pulled away.

"You know what, suddenly, I lost the mood." He shook his head and walked away.

I sighed and got up to follow him but he slammed the bedroom door in my face.

"Whatever." I mumbled, walking away.

---After a few hours I got dressed in black leggings and a cream colored tunic. I pulled on a pair of black heels and brushed my hair out, doing my normal makeup.

After I got dressed I went to Zachary's school to pick him up. I parked the car and walked to the front door. Parents were everywhere. I looked around and felt really uncomfortable. All the parents were older and conservative. Most of the moms were blonde and looked like the typical upper class "soccer moms".

Someone touched my arm and I turned around and smiled. She was really pretty. Long lavender hair, dermals under her eyes, and covered in tattoos. She smiled at me. "You look really lost."

I nodded. "Yeah, I'm looking for the doors that the second graders come out of."

"Oh, they come out right here." She said, smiling. "I don't think I've ever seen you around here."

I shrugged. "Yeah, we're new. My nephew's first day was today."

She smiled bigger. "Who's his teacher?"

"Miss Smith." I said.

"Oh! My son is in her class too." She said. She held her hand out. "My name is Mary."

I shook her hand. "Madison."

The doors of the school opened and kids came running out. It took my a minute to spot Zach, but I finally spotted him running towards me, another boy at his side.

"Auntie!" He yelled, running to me and hugging my leg.

The boy next to him ran to Mary. "Hi, mommy!"

"Hey, baby!" She said, kissing his head.

Zachary pulled on my sleeve. "Auntie, this is my new friend!" He pointed to Mary's son.

Mary smiled at me. "What a small world."

I smiled and kneeled down. "You made a friend?"

He nodded and grabbed the boy, pulling him closer to us. He was cute. He had jet black hair and brown eyes. He looked a lot like Mary.

"This is Caiden. He's my best friend." Zachary said.

I smiled. "Hi, Caiden. Nice to meet you. My name is Madison."

He smiled. "Nice to meet you."

I stood up and looked at Mary. "Well I guess our boys are best friends."

She smiled. "Caiden and I were gonna head over to the park for a little bit. You guys are more than welcome to join us."

I looked at Zach. "Wanna go to the park?"

"Yeah!" He said, jumping up in the air.

I chuckled. "Okay."

He handed me his back pack and him and Caiden walked ahead of us. I slung his tiny back pack over my shoulder and walked alongside Mary.

"So, do his parents live close?" She asked.

I shook my head. "No, his parents actually passed away not too long ago. That's why we have him."

She gave me a look of sympathy. "Oh, I'm so sorry."

"Yeah. He's only been with us for about 3 days, but honestly, it feels like he's always been apart of our home." I said.

"You're married?" She asked.

I shook my head. "Engaged, actually." I smiled. "9 freakin years."

She smiled real big. "Oh my gosh, I just realized where I know you from. You're Austin Carlile's fiancé!"

I chuckled. "Yeah. Guilty."

She laughed. "You're Madison Haythe. I love your clothes."

I smiled. "Well thank you!"

She motioned to the small park ahead of us. "That's the park."

We crossed the street and entered the park gates. The boys ran to the jungle gym and Mary and I sat t a picnic table where we could keep an eye on the boys.

She smiled. "So what's it like to be engaged to Austin Carlile?"

I chuckled. "So many people ask me that." I sighed. "I knew Austin before we was famous. We met when we were 17, so for me, it's not like I'm engaged to this big rockstar I've always swooned over." I smiled. "I still see him as that cute dorky baseball player I met in my backyard."

She smiled. "That's so romantic."

"Are you a fan of his?" I asked.

"Hell yeah. Of Mice & Men is my favorite band." She said.

I smiled. "Well you guys will have to come by for dinner one day."

My phone started ringing and I looked at the screen. It was Austin. "I have to take this." I said, getting up and walking a few feet away. "Hello?"

"Hey, where are you?" He asked.

"Oh me and Zach are the park with his new friend." I said.

"Okay. Will you be home for dinner? I'm cooking tonight."

"Yeah, baby. We won't be here long. Love you."

"Love you." He said, hanging up.

I went and sat back down. "Sorry about that."

"It's fine." She said.

I smiled. "So, are you married?"

She smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I've been married since I was 16."

I smiled. "Really? Wow. That's awesome. How old are you?"

"I'm 27." She said.

"What's your husband like?" I asked.

She shrugged. "He's really cool. We met when we were 12 and we're together ever since." She smiled. "I got pregnant when I was 16 with our daughter, Casey."

I smiled. "You have a daughter?"

She nodded. "Yeah. She stayed home today, she's not feeling well." She picked up her phone and showed me her screensaver. It was Caiden and a girl a few years older. She had black hair like Caiden, and blue eyes. "She's my best friend." Mary said.

I smiled. "She's beautiful."

She put her phone down. "So, if you don't mind me asking, how come you and Austin never had kids?"

I sighed. "Well, we just got so busy with our careers. I wanted to get my clothing line up and running and he's been so busy touring." I shrugged. "We want kids, but we just thought it wasn't the right time." I motioned to the kids. "And then Zach kinda got dumped on our door step and I was terrified." I smiled. "But so far, it's been great."

She smiled. "Well at least you guys have money and the means to have a baby if you tried." She shrugged. "When I got pregnant with Casey, my husband and I were living in his Aunt's basement."

I opened my mouth to say something when Zachary came running over to me. "Auntie, I'm hungry."

I opened my purse. "I have some animal crackers."

He nodded and held his hand out. I handed him the crackers and he went back to the playground.

Mary pulled her hair into a ponytail. "So what made you guys pick this school for Zach?"

"Austin chose it, actually. He said that a friend of his had a daughter that went here and it was a good school." I said. "I was so nervous about sending him though. I remember how scared I was when I had to switch schools in the middle of the year."

Mary shrugged. "Well, he's young, so he'll adjust easier. Plus, it's only October so it still the beginning of the year."

I nodded. "Yeah. That's true." I looked at the time. "Well, we gotta get going. Austin's cooking dinner." I smiled. "We'll definitely have to get together soon."

She smiled. "Yeah."

We exchanged numbers and Zachary and I headed home.
