Miguel stood in the dojo along with Jules, the boy was practicing with a dummy while Jules faced the mirror. There was no one else there but them, Jules was confused on why. Johnny walked out and between them, watched as Miguel decimated the dummy.

"Ok, ok! That's enough. Save some for the tournament." Miguel stopped and looked at Johnny. "Why are we the only ones here, Sensei?"

Jules nodded wanting to know the answer. She walked up to Miguel and waited for Johnny's answer.

Their Sensei sighed. "'Cause let's face it, you two are the only chance I got at winning this thing."

Jules smiled. "So what? Were your best students?"

Johnny rolled his eyes. "Don't flatter yourself. Have you see the others?"

Miguel walked up to his bag and pulled out his phone as Jules walked up to hers. She had texted Robby today but still hadn't gotten an answer, her eyebrows furrowed. That was unusual for Robby, he usually texted back quickly. She put her phone down and walked up to Miguel as he chuckled.

"Look at this photo." He said. "Sam posted it."

Jules smiled. "Aww, you two are cute.

"Sam?" Johnny asked as he walked up to them. His eyes went wide as he saw Miguel's girlfriend. He could believe that his student was dating a LaRusso. "Wait a second. Is that Daniel LaRusso's daughter?"

Miguel looked at his Sensei weirdly. "Yeah, you know Samantha?"

So not only did he have the daughter of Victoria Barron, but his student was dating Daniel LaRusso's daughter.

"You're dating a LaRusso?"

"Yeah, why? Is something wrong?"

"We need to talk."

Both the teens looked at each other confusedly as Johnny walked out of the building. Jules walked over and looked outside.

She scoffed. "What the hell was that?"

Miguel shrugged. "I don't know."

The three sat outside on the curb. Johnny sat in the middle holding a Coors while the two teens sat on either side drinking their choice of soda.

Johnny took a drink before talking. "It was the summer of '82. Rocky III had just come out. My buddy Dutch was a huge Mr. T fan, so we went to the local theater to check it out. Sitting in front of us was this group of cute chicks, eating popcorn. Dutch started throwing Milk Duds at 'em."

Jules furrowed her eyebrows as she laughed. "That's why mom doesn't like Milk Duds."

Miguel questioned their Sensei. "Why would he do that?"

"Because it's an alpha move, man. Babes love when you treat them like crap. Anyways, the girls got so pissed off, that one of them stood up and started yelling at us. That's when I saw her for the first time."

"Saw who?"

"Ali." Jules whispered and Johnny nodded. "Ali. She dumped popcorn all over Dutch. Got butter all over him." He pointed at Jules as they laughed. "Your mother had to drag Ali out. I could tell right away, man, this chick was a firecracker."

"So, did you ask her out?" Miguel asked

"Yeah, I hit on her a few times til she gave me a chance. We went to Golf N' Stuff for our first date. Kissed on the Ferris Wheel" Jules blushed at Johnny's story as she remembered her date with Robby. "We were madly in love. Dated for two years. For Valentine's Day, instead of rings, I gave her this pink jelly bracelet. She gave me this."

He pulled out a belt and showed the two kids. Miguel asked again. "So, then what happened?"

Jules already knew this story, not from this point of view. She had always heard from her mother how awful Johnny Lawrence and Cobra Kai was. Jules heard about Ali and their relationship but never like the.

"Summer before my senior year, we got into a fight. I figured out we'd work things out eventually but then Daniel LaRusso came to town. Next thing I know, he's hitting on her. I see the two of them flirting with each other."

"What did you do?"

"Well, I walked over to have a civil conversation with Ali. But LaRusso kept butting in. I told him to get lost, mind your own business. Out of nowhere, the guy sucker-punches me."

Miguel scoffed. "What an asshole."

"I know, man. I did what any dude would do. I defended myself. You know, I figured that was that but LaRusso wouldn't leave it alone. He got Jules's mother involved, and at the Halloween dance I was sitting there minding my own business, he douses me with a water hose. I hadn't seen the guy in months, fricking turns a water hose on my head. So I chase him and Barron down, trying to put an end to things that night, right?" Miguel nodded. "Turns out they've got a karate master of their own."

Jules smiled, Mr. Miyagi was the only person Jules liked from her mother's story.

"Guy comes out of nowhere, jumps us, assaults me and my friends. I think my buddy Tommy got brain damage 'cause of that fight."

Miguel gasped. "Oh my god."

Johnny just continued. "Eventually. We decided to work things out at the All Valley Tournament."

"Where you almost broke my mother's nose." Jules butted in and Johnny pointed at the girl. "Hey, I didn't want to fight your mother but I had to, anyways me and LaRusso made it to the finals. It was two to two..."

The man just ended and took a sip of his beer. Miguel looked at Johnny waiting for him to finish. He held up his hand before asking impatiently.

"What? What happened? Who won?"

Johnny sighed and answered reluctantly. "LaRusso won, I lost but what's worse...is that I lost Ali."

"Yeah." Miguel sighed and Johnny shook his head commenting. "All right, the reason I'm telling you all this is because you gotta watch out for the LaRussos."

Miguel just stared at the man blankly.

"Robby I'm scared." Julie whined to her boyfriend. Robby just laughed and Julie hit his shoulder. "Don't laugh, what if I get hurt."

He leaned forward, inches from her face. "There's more of a chance to get hurt doing karate than skateboarding."

She pouted and whined. "I'm still scared."

He smiled and picked up the helmet, he was glad that he brought it. He placed it on the girl head and replied. "That's why I brought this."

He snapped the buckle together on the helmet and made sure that it was tight enough. Robby then put down his skateboard before looking at Julie, she stood there and gulped harshly.

"We'll go slowly okay, I'll be right here for you okay?" He reassured the girl and she nodded mumbling out an "okay"

Robby put one foot on the skateboard and moved it so it was between them. Julie stood there watching her boyfriend diligently.

"First we'll start off with you just standing on the board. This is important because if your position or balance is off, I don't want you to fall while moving." Robby explained and the girl nodded at almost every word, he showed her what he meant and explained what he was doing

"Ready?" He asked her and Julie nodded before smiling brightly. She took a step forward and Robby held out his hands. "Okay, take my hands and then you're gonna slowly step onto the board. You're gonna put your left foot right behind the first set of screws and then quickly after, put your right foot on the curved part.  I've got you."

Julie nodded, she let out a breath before picking up her left foot. The girl placed it where Robby had told her and squeaked as it rolled a bit.

"It's okay, you gotta get on it fast or this happens. I've got you, now put your other foot on."

Julie quickly picked up her other foot and placed it on the curved part. Robby smiled as Julie held onto his hands tighter.

"There you go." He praised Julie, the girl smiled but it faded as Robby then said. "Okay, now I'm gonna let go. You're gonna have to balance yourself."

"What!" Her eyes went wide. "Robby no."

He started slowly pulling his hands away until Julie was left on her own up there. She gasped and immediately put her arms out trying to balance, the girl took a breath but she started to wobble. Her arms moved and she began to flail.

"Robby!" She yelled and the boy quickly rushed up to her just as she started to fall forward. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her off the skateboard

Robby placed her on the ground and looked at her with a concerned expression. "Are you alright?" He asked and the girl let out a breath a she gave him a small smile telling him that she was sorry. "I just got scared."

Robby's expression changed into a smile. "Let's try again."

Julie tried again, Robby helped her onto the board. She had gotten onto it easier but still wanted her boyfriend's help and as Robby pulled from her, she took a breath and concentrated until she felt like she was standing on normal ground.

"See you've got it. Now let's try pushing off." He said and walked back up to her. Julie grabbed his hands as he explained what to do next, showing her and talking her through every steps

Julie put her right foot on the ground and took Robby's hand, putting her other hand out for support. She pushed off the ground and stepped back onto the board, a smile covered her face.

"Ready to try on your own?" Julie's nodded almost immediately at Robby's words

He smiled and took a step back, he watched as the girl put her foot on the ground. Julie took a breath and then pushed off, she held her arms out to keep her balance but smiled as she traveled.

"Push off again!" Robby called after her and Julie pushed off again, gaining more speed but her confidence wore off as she started going faster

Robby's smile fell as he saw the girl started to wobble. He hadn't taught her how to stop or turn, she was gonna crash. The boy raced forward but it was already too late.

The girl sat on the curb outside of the mall, she looked over at the convenient store then back down at her right leg. Her arms were wrapped around her left leg as her right leg stuck out and off the curb, right under her knee was a gash and she was waiting for Robby to come back with bandages.

She touched the edge and hissed before resting her head on her other knee. Robby quickly paid the cashier and threw open the door running out to Julie. The girl looked up and smiled at Robby.

"I got some Neosporin to put on there as well." Robby said and knelt in front of the girl, digging through the bag

Julie pouted. "I told you I'd get hurt."

Robby shook his head. "It was my fault. I didn't tell you how to stop, you were doing great until you hit that rock."

He opened up the box of Neosporin and squirted some onto his finger. He slowly started to run the ointment on the girl's knee.

Julie smiled. "Really?" Robby nodded and agreed. "You should've seen me when I first tried. I skinned my entire arm. It was bad, I came back home and my mom thought I had been hit by a car."

The girl hissed out but laughed as Robby started laughing. Johnny pulled up to the dojo, he had some things he had to do. As he turned off the engine and went to unbuckle his seatbelt, he saw something outside. He froze and it felt like he had the wind knocked out of him, sitting on the curb outside was two kids he recognized. He immediately recognized Jules, he had seen her just a day before but it took him a second to realize who the boy was.

"Robby?" He said under his breath

He watched as the two teens laughed and as Robby placed a bandage on the girl's knee before helping her up. The next action made a knot appeared in his stomach, he watched as Robby pointed to his cheek and as the girl leaned in he turned his head so that Jules kissed him. The girl laughed and playfully hit his shoulder. Johnny's eyes went wide, his mind was reeling and he had so many questions. Was Jules dating Robby? For How long? How does she even know his son? Why didn't she tell him?

His eyes were locked on the two and Johnny watched as they walked away, only moving when the two walked around the corner. He didn't know what to think.
