Profic 

Refers to entirely original stories that are professionally written and published in hopes of making a profit. Many authors who begin their writing careers with fanfiction before going pro often remove all trace of their unauthorised fanfics from the internet once they become successful to prevent being sued for copyright violation. However, some professional authors do write fanfiction as well, though usually under a pseudonym rather than their published pen name.
