Chapter 14

Jensen’s POV

Seeing Jane in the crowd made all of the nerves go away. Her sweet smile made me forget that there was over a thousand people in the room. After finishing the song, I looked up and saw Jane. Luckily, she was looking at me, so I took the opportunity to get her attention by motioning my head to the direction of some doors that were next to the stage. She nodded back, telling me that she understood.

Jared needed help with setting up lunch and I was hoping that Jane didn’t think that I forgot about her, so I tried to go as fast as I could.

“Hey man. What’s the hurry?” Jared asked while we finished setting up tables.“I wanted to ask Jane if Maggie and her would want to join us for lunch and I kind of left her standing awkwardly by the doors.” I answered.“Then what are you doing here?! Go ask her!” Jared demanded, pushing me towards the doors.

He stopped me about 5 feet away from the doors.“Go get em tiger.” Jared teased and patted my shoulder.I chuckled and walked to the doors.

I opened them and saw Jane slightly jump.“Sorry. I went and helped Jared with something.” I said and closed the doors.“It’s fine.” she says with that beautiful smile.“So, you could tell that the crowd hated me.” I said, teasing.

We continued to tease back and forth.

Jane laughed. “No you were amazing.” she says.I smile. “Thanks. How was your first art show?” I ask.“Not over. I have to be back in 10 minutes.” you answer.“Darn! I was hoping that you’d be able to stay for Jared and I’s panel or have lunch with us. You and Maggie are more than welcome to join us.” I said, grabbing Jane’s hand to stop her.“Lunch sounds amazing! Where and when?” she asked.“In the green room. It’s basically just a lounge area behind the stage.” I answer.

Jane looks down and notices that you are still holding her hand and you see her blush. You look down too and let go of her hand, embarrassed that you made such a bold move.

“Sounds good! I’ll see you guys at lunch!” she says, leaving the room.

Once she was out of the room, you silently jump in the air and repeatedly whisper yelled yes.

Jared was still standing in the same spot when you opened the doors leading to the green room.“So, how did it go?” he asked like an excited fangirl.“She won’t be able to stay for our panel, but Maggie and her are joining us for lunch.” you answer, trying to stay calm as possible.Jared picked you up and said “I knew you had it in you!”I laughed and said “Okay, okay! Put me down big guy!”

We continued to laugh and finished setting up for lunch. Now, all we had to do was wait.

30 minutes passed and I heard Jared’s stomach growl across the room. That was not a good sign.“Dude, just go get her. I’m sure she’s finishing up.” he said.I could tell that he was getting cranky.

“Okay, I’m going. Don’t eat anything yet.” I said, leaving the room.

I found where Jane had her art show and started to go in, but I stopped right at the door. I saw a little girl hug Jane and I couldn’t help but smile. They pulled away and I cleared my throat.

“Hey!” she said, walking up to me..“Hi. Ready for some lunch?” I asked.“In just a minute. There’s a man from the National Gallery in London and he wants to buy one of my paintings!” she answered, trying hard not to show her excitement, but failed.I chuckle. “I can wait.”

She offered me a chair while she dealt with her painting. It only took a couple of minutes to figure out everything and then Jane went to go get Maggie.

“We’re ready!” Maggie says to me and I stand up.“Good! Follow me ladies.” I say and put both of my arms out for Jane and Maggie to take.

They both giggle and I lead them back to the green room.

I opened the doors leading into the green room and both girls freeze. Most of the cast and crew were in the room, waiting for Jensen to arrive.

“Everyone! I would like to introduce Jane and her agent Maggie.” I announced and they all stopped what they were doing and came towards us.

Let’s just say Jane and Maggie met almost everyone in the room. Jane was talking to Jim Beaver when I came up to her and told her what was on the menu. I held my arm out and lead her to the tables before Jared ate everything. We sat down and enjoyed our meal.

All of the sudden, Maggie sits up and says, “Shoot! Jane, we need to get going.”She started speed walking to the door and Jane looks over to you. You gave her an “it’s fine” facial expression.

She smiled. “Thank you so much for lunch. It was nice to meet all of you!” she said loud enough and then she was gone. Jim made his way to you and whispered, “she’s a keeper.”

I couldn’t help but smile. He was right and I had to do something about it.
