Chapter 1

19:05, 27 June 2018

"Jane! You are needed in the gallery room!" your assistant, Laurie, yelled down the long hallway. You were getting ready to open your art building after being discovered years ago at your high school. Being only 25, you knew you were on to do amazing things.

"On my way!" you yelled back as you finished organizing your office. I can't believe this is happening!  You thought to yourself when you skipped down the endless hallway and into the gallery room.

"There you are! I was hoping that you had some time to go over the venue that I've chosen for your first art show this weekend." said Maggie, your agent. Things were going by fast for you, but you couldn't wait for what the future held for you.

"Perfect!" you said with enthusiasm.

"Fantastic! Let's get started!" she says and leads you to the only empty desk in the room.

"First off, it's at a luxury hotel in New York, so that kills two birds with one stone. Also, because of your artwork, you will attract more people and the hotel gave us free room service!" Maggie says and waits for your reaction.

"That sounds wonderful!" you say, but you see Maggie's face and you know that she is hiding something.

"Is that all?" you ask, hinting her to tell you what she is hiding.

"Well, you are not the only person that is going to fill up the hotel. There is another thing happening too and I couldn't cancel our time."

"What is it? Another artist? Band group?" you ask.

"No, a TV show. It's called Supernatural and it sounds like it is very popular because the manager of the hotel said that they have no more rooms. But of course people will be coming for you too." Maggie answers and you smile.

"Nice save Mag. I guess I've been living under a rock because I haven't heard of the show." you say when you both stand up.

"Apparently it just started and is only on their second season. Of course, I got that info from the manager too." you laughed and leave the room with Maggie.

"I can't wait!" you say to Maggie before she leaves for the night.

"Me too! I just hope that that TV show won't overrule the amount of people who are staying at the hotel." she says back, pushing the back doors open.

"Don't worry. I would be more than happy if just 5 people came to look at my work." you say, giving Maggie a hug.

"Why do you always put the good in everything? You're so positive!" Maggie says then goes to her car.

"Goodnight! See you tomorrow for the opening!" you yell to Maggie as she reaches for her car door.

"Yep yep!" she yells back and leaves the parking lot. You smile and walk back to your office. As you turn the corner Laurie runs right into you.

"Jesus Laurie! You scared me!" you say and you both laugh.

"I know you jumped like ten feet!" he says, between laughter.

"What are you still doing here? Go home." you say to him as you finished laughing.

"I was just making sure everything was in order for tomorrow's opening. Why aren't you home yet?" he asked before you opened the door to your office.

"Maggie was just telling me the plans for the art show this weekend. I'm going to my office to finish a couple of things and then I promise to go home." you answer.

"Does it seem that your career is starting off too fast?" Laurie asked and you sighed.

"Yes and no. I am excited that I get to open this beautiful building to the public tomorrow and then share my artwork at New York, but I can't lie and say that I'm a little stressed." you answered. Laurie walked up to you a gave you a hug. You guys have been friends since the first grade after his lunch was stolen by another student and you split your lunch with him. You let his hug calm you down and then separated.

"Thanks. Now go home before your wife yells at me for keeping you here late!" you teased and Laurie let out a chuckle.

"Yes ma'am." he said and gave you a lousy salute.

"See you tomorrow you goof!" you called out to him before he went out.

"I'm planning on it dork!" he yelled back and you smiled before you locked everything up for tomorrow's opening.
