Papa, Part 1

3rd Person's POV

It's like the sound of his voice knocked all the guilt out of her body in one go.

The past year, she wanted nothing more than to take it back. But now, she wanted him to be lying there instead standing behind her, with each sentence calculated to push a specific button.

Is this how she felt that night? Is this why she killed him?

She turned around to face him, a gasp escaping her lips when she did. There was glass coming out his face, and his blood soaked hair clung to the side of his cheek. But his eyes were open. They weren't supposed to be open.

He started walking towards her, never once bothering to hide the disgust in his voice, "Only been a year, and you've moved on with that freak?"

"That freak..." she let out a shaky breath, "would never hurt me like you did."

"I'm the one who hurt you?" He let out a bitter laugh, walking around her. She felt his cold breath on the back of her neck, it made her feel disgusting.

That's when both the windows to the living room were forced open, blood gushing through them.

She took a few steps back until her back crashed into his chest.

"Don't you remember what you did Valerie?"

The voice that just whispered in her ear, that wasn't Josh.

She didn't have to look back to know who it belonged to, she just ran for the door.

"I keep trying to make you remember, Valerie."

The doorknob was jammed, but she wasn't going to take no for an answer. She took a few steps back, then ran straight for the door and banged her shoulder against it. Then again. And again.

"When I kill someone... I never forget."

She kept pounding the door with her fists, she could feel she was starting to hyperventilate.

The door suddenly opened, making her stumble forward and fall to her knees on a stairway.

She stood up and took a look around. The same ticking of the clock, the same old pillars holding up the bodies of those who died.

On second thought maybe she was better off home. When she looked back, there was no house. She was stuck inside Vecna's mind, again.

She started making her way down the stairs.

"You and your friends have been looking for me everywhere, Valerie. And you were so close. So close to the truth. How was old, blind, dumb Victor?"

Valerie saw the door in front of her, the door to Victor Creel's house.

"Did he miss me? I've been meaning to check back in. But I've been busy, so very busy."

It was as if the door came to life in front of her eyes, no longer weary and floating mid air.

Her surroundings began to change, the normalcy of the Creel house a stark contrast to the red nightmare of a mind she was trapped in seconds prior.

But it was all an illusion. Or perhaps, memory? Because she knew she wasn't out yet, but only being delved even further.

The door opened to let in a man, woman and two of their children which she presumed to be the Creels.

It sent a chill through her spine, seeing the little girl excitedly run up the stairs, and the mother smiling at her.

Valerie knew their end was near.

That's when she noticed the one thing that stood out from their otherwise picture perfect family.

The little boy standing behind his parents, staring at the floor.

She followed him as he walked up the stairs and into a bathroom, the light flickering past him as he did.

He sat beside the toilet and found a nest of spiders, watching, almost in admiration, as one crawled up his hand.

Valerie whipped around as she heard a pair of legs run past her, it was the boy again. She ran after him, and it lead to the attic.

He had a table literred with candles, and glass jars. Each containing spiders. He was obsessed with them, he observed them, drew them.

She followed him down the stairs to the grandfather clock, where he proceeded to close his eyes and bent time to his will.

He had powers.

Valerie heard a screeching sound behind her, and suddenly she was in their front porch. There was a rabbit tied to a nail, trying to get free. The boy, Henry, appeared behind it. He raised an arm above it and the animal started floating.

Valerie had to look away when one of its arm twisted backwards. She let out a long breath. She still couldn't wrap her head around what all of this meant.

She took a sharp turn and entered the house, slamming the door behind her.

He was a child.

He was a child who also just committed murder.

She heard noises from the dining room, so she went there despite the nausea in her gut.

They were seated around the table, until Victor got up to fix a malfunctioning radio. That's when Henry looked at his mom.

Valerie knew he what he was about to do, but she stil didn't want to believe it.

He closed his eyes and the woman was flung to the ceiling. As a third person dropped lifeless in front of her eyes, she noticed blood dripping from his nose.

Was he.... related to Eleven?

There were a million theories running through Valerie's head, each one equally as absurd as they were possible.

Victor picked his daughter and son up, unaware that he had just killed his wife.

Before they could make it out of the house, the girl was dead. Victor would've been too, if Henry hadn't collapsed.

Police came and arrested Victor, the only one of the family unharmed and concious. It was the obvious choice.

Valerie let out a gasp, as Henry woke up in captivity of a doctor.

Dr. Martin Brenner.

Brenner tattooed a number onto his wrist.

Valerie leaned forward to take a closer look.

001.

"This is how it all started." Valerie sighed.

The last three years of her life, it all came down to this moment. It felt like she was back to square one. No matter how many times they closed the gate, no matter how many times they fought, they never actually leave the upside down. It's always there, lingering.

"See? All done. There's nothing to be afraid of." Brenner said, "Is there Valerie?"

He looked straight at her. His voice was distorted, so were his eyes. Her breath caught in her throat as she hurried out of the room.

She was in a dimly lit hallway, colourless and devoid of life. But that wasn't even beginning to describe the worst of it. Not when the walls were splattered with blood and the floors littered with bodies of dead children.

She kept muttering a string of curses underneath her breath as she ran through different hallways. At last, it brought to a dead end, with yet another locked door.

"What are you doing Valerie? It's not time for you to leave yet."

She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths to calm down. She then turned around to face him.

"Henry Creel."

"Good. Now that you've seen where I've been. I would like very much to show you where I am going."

All the lights around her went out, and for a while all she could hear was the sound of her own breathing. She wrapped her arms her frame.

But then there was something else, something tugging at her arms and legs that eventually pulled her and strapped her to the wall.

The lights came back on, and Henry was right there in front of her face.

"I want you to tell Eleven, I want you to tell her everything you see."

Her mind was clouded with visions.

There was a gate, opening at the Creel house. The clock chimed once. It was spreading. The clock chimed again. It grew until it left the house and bled into Hawkins. The clock chimed again. She watched as life on Hawkins came to an end. The clock chimed one final time and she snapped out of her trance.

She gasped and stumbled backwards as she fell, but a pair of arms caught her before she could.

"Eddie-" She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face into his chest. She couldn't stop the sobs from coming out.

"Hey, hey, it's okay. You made it, I'm right here." He wrapped one arm around her waist, the other rubbed soothing circles into her back, "You're okay now, Val." He pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

She had never felt more at home, and more relieved than she did in this moment. Her friends were safe. Eddie was safe. He was alive. She could hear his heart beating.

But for how long?

[A/N: This is a long one.

Also Vecna is so hot. Or atleast he used to be. At first I didn't really care about his character and he kinda creeped me out but then suddenly he had powers and did his evil head tilt thing and I don't know what happened😭]
