Theodore and Morgan was currently in the bedroom with a now conscious Rick Grimes who was also tied to the bed post. Questioning him continuously about his wound and where he had gotten it from.
Katara knew exactly where it was from, so she tried educating them about the kind of man he was and how the wound has come upon him. But the men were so overprotective that they barley listened onto what she was saying.
But she couldn't exactly blame them and their worries on the bites and scratches he could possibly have. He was out there for a little while, you could tell by his rough hands and how dirty he actually looks.
"Do you think that, if all of this didn't happen Tara that we would've still crossed paths?" Duane tried to remove her mind from what she was currently thinking about.
Though it was a virus invading and sickening the world. It didn't sicken his mind; so Katara still taught him the basics of what he needed to know and what she learned in school at his age.
So that he'd be an educated man one day, more educated than she ever was even when she was at the simple age of eighteen.
"Why did you just ask that hm?" She turned her body around to face his, being quite curious to what sparked the question in a moment such as this.
"Simple curiosity you know? Wanted to know if you'd even acknowledge me even if the world was okay" he smiled slightly making the females facial expressions drop.
Katara was a prostitute in the regular world, and every child she came across it made her womb churn. Sometimes she would sit in the park when she wasn't looking for male attention and watch the small children play.
Not in a weird way of course.
It reminded her of what she could've gave if she stayed with her parents and stuck with her passion that she got a full ride to college on.
Art.
She still could've had it but who would want to raise a child in a motel room with men coming in and out of the room during the night.Just to have a nice fuck, and men were sickened in uptown atlana, they would've tried the child.
Her child.
Katara wouldn't even think to put any child in a situation such as that, made her uterus turn.
"Of course, I would've noticed you" her hands found themselves onto his face, and cupping his beautiful brown cheeks. "Probably would've even tried my hardest to become your friend" unshed tears clouded her eyes.
"Grown-ups have friends too?" He questioned wiping the tears that strolled down her cheeks. Duane had grown to idolize Katara in her time of being with Morgan and him. Mostly for her resilience in life or death situation.
And the strength she holds for when they came across other humans and they tried to strip them away from the home they had. Let's just say all of them didn't make it out alive.
Duane knew who his parents was, but for the three months Katara and Theodore resided with them, he found a safe space with Katara.
When nightmares occurred about his mother and her death, sometimes she would step in and soothe him back to sleep.
Or when he had questions about absolutely anything she tried her best to answer them in the best way she could.
"Yes they do" she let out a small laugh with a shake of her head. Small moments like these with the boy she cherished them forever, because one minute in this world she could be here. And the next minute, she could be dead.
Before another word and question fell out of the young boys mouth, the bedroom door had opened making both of their heads turn towards it. Seeing Morgan exit first before Theodore following suit. She felt her hands drop from Duane's cheeks as she stood again.
"Any bites? Scratches?" She got straight to the point, actually cutting Theodore off when he was about to give the news report.
Morgan shook his head as he held the ties that kept him bound to the bed. "Nothing on his skin, but he's still all shaken up" he told her and a relieved sigh fell from her lips.
"And we gave him insight on what's going on as of late, he's still processing it so take it easy on him alright?" Theodore looked at her before patting her arm with his hand and walking towards Duane.
A nod came to her head and looked at Morgan before walking inside of the room door, closing it after herself. Currently he was sat up on the bed no longer bound to it with ties.
His eyes were scanning the room as if he was trying to memorize it, before they his gaze fell onto hers.
"Do you remember me?" She asked him wondering if his memory was still in tact as she walked over to the bed side sitting down on the edge of it, keeping a great distance.
As she walked over, his eyes followed her. He was in a coma for a few long months so maybe he didn't remember what he had done for her two years ago, or the interactions.
"You called me your Prince Charming in your diary entries" he finally spoke up to her as he rubbed his wrist that was slightly shaking.
When Rick was in the hospital Lori hadn't visited Rick for some odd reason. So Katara used the title as his wife to enter the hospital for long periods of time.
She would read the man her old diary entries to him and when it was no more for her to read. She would talk to the man as if he was mobile.
But she also shaved his face, trimmed his hair and cut his nails. Even slept in the chair of his room, mostly because she wanted to be the first to call his actual wife if he ever woken.
And because she had nowhere to rest her head when when refused to please men for money.
"You actually heard me? I thought that was a myth" she admits before feeling his arms wrap around her and without a second thought, her body head leaned in embracing him.
The hug was gentle and longful, she was the only person he had known to be alive that he knew personally. It made his emotions rise.
"Thank you for everything" the man muttered as his chin rested on her shoulder, and her forehead rested in his neck.
"Of course"

Theodore and Katara was currently in the second floors bathroom with a pale of water the two used to refresh their bodies for the day. The water supply had barley worked, so when the water finally turned on, they filled as much as they could into two pales and used them.
Morgan also made it clear to Katara that her night duty that she always took on wasn't going into affect tonight. Man even confiscated her gun and dagger that she collected in her journey through atlana.
"So you really lied to the hospital and said you were that man's wife?" Theodore was obviously eavesdropping on the two's conversations that went on for three hours straight.
It consisted about his wife Lori, and son Carl and how he wished they were alright and alive. How disappointed he was to find out his wife never visited him, how when he finally opened slightly one night he saw her and not his wife and son. And she had to say, she wasn't upset.
If the tables were turned, she wouldn't want to see a man she only met what? Three times, she would want to see the love of her life.
"Well when you say it like that, you make me sound like a crazy and obsessive person" she had rolled her eyes as she redressed herself placing on her shorts instead of her jeans.
"Well.." the boy has finished up his own small bathe session, trailing off with his words.
A small gasp came from her mouth and she rolled her eyes, "One, no one else came and did what I had for him, and two, the doctors don't treat you right in hospitals" she stuck up her middle finger before walking out of the room that they shared for the moment.
All she heard was the male's quiet snickers as she exited the bathroom, she kept her footsteps ghosted as she made her way to the livingroom area part of the house. It's where they slept just in case something bad happened.
She never had a pad to sleep on mostly because she was always awake and mobile, and if she did sleep she slept with Theodore who tossed and turned in his sleep. But she walked over to Rick and the male instantly moved his body over the best way that he could.
She lowered her body down and positioned herself down on the pad, her back facing his front as she held her hands in-front of her body. "I'm going to make sure you find em"
She unknowingly made a promise to the man that she trusted, just as much as Theodore. Even now she wished that her sisters and father had as okay during this difficult time.
Beth wasn't a violent girl so she couldn't see her fighting off walkers or he way Morgan had, or she had for that matter. Maggie is a different story though, she girl was A class a bitch who always had something to say. If only she could put those bitchy emotions into actions, she could she her surviving this mess.
"I can't put you in this." Rick whispered to the he girl in-front of him and she lifted her brows and turned her body towards him.
"I don't remember you putting a gun to my head and saying I have to do anything. It's a personal choice." Mostly because Morgan had a talk with her saying, if Rick goes, they should attend this journey with him.
Morgan heavily believes in that a new order could be created, starting with Rick and the people his wife had maybe found. Build a community to help everyone survive.
"My choice" she smiled as she leaned her head in and placed a peck onto her cheek before returning to her position before he could argue otherwise with her.
Rick stared at the back of the Katara's head before using his arms and body to spoon her body making the girl tense slightly. But once she got the memo of the male not letting her body go.
Her stiffened body became relaxed and she felt her eyes close on her. "Goodnight Cowboy"
