chapter 6

08:14, 7 September 2025

For dinner Boris decided to order some pizza. They asked Hobie if they could borrow some money for it and he gave them $10.

"Hey do you guys have any alcohol here??" Boris asked Theo.

"Yeah, I'll have to be careful though because I don't think I'm supposed to get into it." Theo said while walking to a cupboard and taking a bottle of vodka out.

"I don't think Hobie even drinks alcohol much, so I'm not sure why we even have it."

"You don't drink?" Boris asked Theo slightly surprised. They always drank a lot together and were usually always slightly drunk.

"I mean.. I usually only drank with you."

"Oh." Boris mumbled as he opened the bottle, taking a long sip straight from the bottle. He pointed the bottle towards Theo while he swallowed, asking him if he wanted some. Theo grabbed the bottle from Boris, Boris smiling as he did so.

They spent the rest of the afternoon drinking and messing around, until Hobie came back upstairs and saw them both laying on the couch passed out. Hobie just shook his head and walked away. Theo had told Hobie when he first came back about Boris and everything that had happened in Las Vegas. Hobie honestly thought that Boris was a bad influence for Theo. He thought Theo was a nice, smart respectful kid, and Boris had been trying to change that.

Boris woke up a couple hours later. His head was aching and his mind was blurry. He looked at the clock on the wall and it was 1:43. He looked back down at Theo, he was still calmly sleeping. Boris decided to slowly picked Theo up, trying not to wake him, and walk him to his room. He placed Theo carefully onto his bed. Boris laid down next to Theo and held him.

Theo woke up before Boris, as usual. His head hurt and his eyes were blurry, just like Boris' were. When he stepped into the kitchen-as always-Hobie was there.

"Hey Hobie." Theo said with a groggy voice.

"Hello, Theo. Can I please talk to you for a second?"

"Sure." Theo sat down across from Hobie, still feeling sick.

"How long will Boris be staying here?" Hobie asked him.

"I'm not sure.. he hasn't really mentioned it, why?"

"Well.." Hobie started, "I don't mind helping him, but he needs to calm down. I got a call last night from the diner, they told me that Boris was being extremely rude to once of the waitress', and then you guys just walked out without paying for your food?"

Theo stared at him for a minute, waiting for him to say something else to end the silence.

"And then when I came up here to talk to you guys about it, you guys were passed out on the couch and had a bottle of vodka. All I'm getting at is I think that Boris isn't good for you. Your a good kid, Theo. But you doing drugs and stealing and drinking alcohol? I think it'd be better for you if Boris had gone back to Las Vegas."

Theo didn't know what to say. He's been the happiest he had been in six months these past 2 days. He didn't want to be alone again. He didn't want Boris to be alone again.

Boris had heard all of this. He always was guilty for everything he did to Theo. The guilt lasted up until he was an adult. He left Theo, he started him on all of these habits, he caused Theo to be all alone. He felt that it'd be better if he left too.

Boris was happy that he and Theo had finally been together again. He'd missed him. Even if he wasn't with him in the way we wanted to be, he was happy. He didn't want to have to leave him again. He knew Theo would be better with out him. He spent his last day with Theo, and then packed his bags once Theo fell asleep. The next morning Theo woke up, alone. He saw a letter on his desk.
