Bad Dreams

Aphmau's POV;

I closed my eyes and everything went black. Then I started seeing things pop out of thin air, coming from my imagination. I was in a grassy field with nothing but flowers amidst it. I could see all my friends not too far from me, playing in the field. It was a beautiful sight. I ran up to them and tapped on Dante's shoulder.

"TAG!!" I screamed. I ran away and Dante was chasing me. I kept running faster and faster, but then the scenery started to change. We were now in a dark forest, and it was snowing. I stopped running and looked to see if Dante was still chasing me. It wasn't Dante that was chasing me anymore. It was Him.

It was Ein.

I ran as fast as I could, almost slipping in the snow. Then I stumbled myself upon a little cabin. Even though I didn't want to, I went in and locked the door. I heard Ein banging on the door. I saw a back door and ran out. I kept running, only looking back. I looked forward and fell over, almost falling off a cliff. I looked over the edge and gasped at what I saw. I saw a lifeless Aaron at the bottom of the cliff, covered in blood. Then I felt someone push me off the ledge. I looked behind me as I fell to my doom, and saw Ein grinning.

As I fell, the scenery around me changed once more. I was in a cave under something. I could see a waterfall not too far from us. I was about to start walking when someone pulled me back with a knife in their hand. It was Ein. I looked in front of me and saw Aaron looking at Ein with his fiery red eyes.

"If you want her back, give me what I desire." Ein demanded. Aaron looked into his eyes and Ein gained a pair of werewolf ears and tail. Ein then pushed me off the mini rock cliff we were on. I started running to Aaron when suddenly I stopped. I look down to see blood pouring from my chest. Tears in my eyes were begging to come out when I started to fall over. I blacked out once more.

When I woke up I was in a chapel. A very large, white chapel with purple stained glass windows. I started noticing the patterns of my dreams. I look up, thinking I knew who I would see, but I was wrong. It was Ein? But he should be dead! He walked up to me and caressed my cheek. As he did so, my eyes turned Emerald green, and then I passed out.

"AHHHH!" I screamed. I woke up back in my room. I fell off my bed and dragged my pillow down with me. I twisted something, so I screamed into my pillow. My heart was beating too fast. I had to take my acetaminophen quickly. I tried crawling to my desk, but I was in so much pain.

"Hngh..." I grunted. I tried moving again but I just didn't have enough energy. Melissa bursts into my room.

"Aphmau! What happened?!"

"Just...Pass me my pills...please." I said breathless. She ran over to my desk.

"Which one?" She asked seriously.

"The one that says panic on it..." She grabbed the bottle and a glass of water on my desk and sat me up straight, leaning on my bed. I swallowed my pills and sighed in relief. I was still super shaken though.

"Aph, I'm gonna wake up Aaron and I'm gonna take you to the hospital. Ok?"

"O-Ok." I stammered. I put down my glass on the floor and laid there, waiting for Melissa and Aaron. After two minutes or so, I saw Melissa leading Aaron to my room. When he finally came in, Melissa left to get her things. Aaron felt around, a little more panicked than usual, until he felt my bed. He sat beside me and held my hand.

"Are you ok? I heard you scream." I looked at him and started to cry again, remembering what I saw in my dream. He moved closer to me and I cried on his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around me, and pulled me closer to him.

"Shhh, it's okay, I'm right here." He said. I calmed myself down and laid there with him. Melissa ran back into my room and helped me up on my wheelchair and she rolled me downstairs. Aaron followed by sound, and came downstairs with us. Melissa unlocked the door, got me in the back seat with Aaron, and put my wheelchair in the trunk. She got in the drivers seat and started driving us to the hospital. Me and Aaron sat there leaning on each other, waiting to get to the hospital. This feeling I have, being held by Aaron, I missed it a lot.

I was put in a hospital bed and a cast was wrapped along my ankle. That must've been what I twisted when I fell off the bed. Melissa was talking on the phone, calling everyone about what happened. Aaron was brought a chair and sat down next to my bed, holding my hand tight.

"Man, have I missed these hospital beds." I said, lifting the tension off the room. Aaron chuckled and loosened his tight grip on my hand.

"I'm glad you're feeling better." He said relieved.

"Something my mother taught me is no matter how sick you may feel, you always have to laugh, even when it's hard. It makes you and everyone around you feel better." A doctor came up to me.

"Alright, Ms. Aphmau, I have good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?"

"The good news please, I've felt bad enough from all the chaos last night."

"Alright than, the good news is that you'll be able to take physical therapy right away, because they also help with sprained and broken limbs."

"Yipe." I said unenthusiastically. "And the bad news?"

"It's your heart. From your explanations, you were able to live with magic, correct?"

"Yes." I replied.

"Well without that magic, you're...slowly dying." Aaron went wide eyed and I went serious.

"What? How can that be? Lucinda has been without her magic for over a year! Shouldn't that mean I should be dead?"

"Well in other cases, yes, but you have magic of your own. If you didn't you wouldn't be alive right now. What magic do you have?" The doctor asked.

"Well, the only magic I've ever used before was healing magic."

"I see...it's a pity you can't heal yourself, but then again you wouldn't be here if you could. We'll try to use everything we can to keep your heart from weakening, but if we must go to 'drastic' measures, I'll get a mage to heal the hole in your heart. Let me know if you need anything. We're going to keep you in for the night, just in case something happens." The doctor left. Aaron turned to me concerned.

"You have healing magic?"

"Well, I'm still working on it, but yeah. Lucinda taught me. Haven't used it in over two years, though." I sighed at the last part. I'm gonna have to work on that.

"Uhm..." Aaron hesitated.

"What is it? I know you want something when you use that tone of voice." I teased. He remained calm.

"D-Do you think...You could bring my memories back? O-Or make me see?" He asked with caution. My heart sank and my mood changed from calm to heartbroken.

"I don't know..." I responded.

"O-Oh...That's ok, it was only a question." Aaron said. Then I thought. I thought for a while.

Maybe I can! I don't know if it'll work, but I can try! When I get stronger, I'll give Aaron back his memories! A-And if I can't, I'll give him back his eyes! I can finally be useful again! I can heal everyone! All I need now is practice.

Melissa walked back to us after making her last phone call.

"Alright guys, everyones on their way. I told them what happened. How you feeling, Aph?" Melissa asked.

"I'm doing good, hopefully the others don't dogpile me with questions." I chuckled. And as if on cue, everyone bursts into the room only to be pushed out by doctors and nurses. I laughed to myself, and after a little while, only two people entered. It was Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan.

"Aphmau are you okay?! What happened?!" KC burst.

"You had us worried sick!" Katelyn yelled.

"Don't worry guys. I'm fine." I insisted. "The Doctor even said I can leave tomorrow! I'll be alright, so stop worrying you two!"

"We just don't want to see you hurt again." Katelyn explained.

"I know I know, but I'm serious! I promise I'll be just fine." One, or more like two by two, pairs of my friends walked in to check up on me for a few minutes before another pair walked in. It thankfully didn't take too long, and there weren't a lot of questions. Finally the last person with no person to walk by, Zane entered the room.

"Hey Six. How ya feeling?" He asked calmly.

"Doing good, just disappointed I can't go back home to my comfy bed to sleep instead of this dinky one." I complained. Zane laughed.

"Well if you don't wanna sleep in a hospital bed take better care of yourself!" He joked.

"Har har. You're much more calm than the others."

"Well yeah. I mean sure, they told me how you were doing in the waiting room, but I also used to be in your shoes, minus the heart problem part." I raised an eyebrow.

"Really? Since when?"

"When we got back from Starlight Wonderland. I was probably the most shaken of us. I would always have nightmares at night, and sometimes I would have such bad panic attacks from seeing the color green, or even a small kitchen knife, that Four would take me to the emergency room."

"Oh. I guess that's for the both of us, huh?"

"Unfortunately. I know I just got here, but I'm not too worried about you, so I'm gonna go back home. Just know if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here too. G'night guys." Zane waved himself off and left the room. Melissa and Aaron stayed with me for the night, and Aaron never left my side and sat on the chair all night.

I woke up at around seven o'clock, and turned to see Aaron just start to doze off. Was he up all night?

"Aaron?" I whispered. He almost jumped and turned to me.

"You're awake?" He asked.

"Yep. Were you up all night?"

"Yeah. I got nervous something would happen if I fell asleep, so I stayed up." He said softly. Aw, so sweet of him. I sat up in my bed and Melissa woke up.

*Yawn* "Good morning world! Hey guys, ready to leave?" Melissa asked.

"Whenever you guys are. I cannot tell you guys how much I hate hospital beds at the moment." Melissa got me in my wheelchair, and the hospital discharged us. We finally got back home, and I rolled over to the stairs.

"Melissa, can you help me up the stairs? I wanna go get changed."

"Alright, I'm coming." She said.
