Just Seeing Things

03:29, 5 August 2024

Aphmau's POV;

Everyone was still talking, and I rolled myself into a corner next to the couch. Then Garroth and Zane came up to me.

"Hey Six." Zane said.

Six? Well that's a new one.

"HI guys, what's up?" I said, faking the cheeriness in my voice, and forcing a smile.

"We know that look. We've been doing everything we can for him to remember." Garroth stated. "He gets upset when we talk about you."

"Why?" I asked, confused.

"Because we keep telling him you were important in his life. He wants to remember the times you had the most out of any other things we've told him." Zane confessed. I looked down and smiled a little. I hope he remembers me, now that I'm here.

"Hey guys! I just had a bright Idea!" I heard Lucinda yell in the room. "We should throw a party for Aphmau and Travis now that they're back!" Everyone agreed and we planned for it to be tonight. Kawaii~Chan said we could do it at her house. Everyone left to their houses to get ready, and Travis decided to go home with Katelyn, which left me, Aaron, and Melissa in the house. I felt a little awkward just sitting there in the corner, but I felt comfortable so everything was fine. Aaron felt around for the couch and sat down. Melissa sat next to Aaron, but all the way to the armrest side so she could talk to me.

"So Aph, how have you been doing?"

"I've been good, just laying in a bed for a whole year and a half."

"Well we can start the physical therapy if you want. Just tell me when you wanna schedule it." She said.

"I guess I should just get it over with, so we can start whenever you're free." I sighed.

"Actually, I think we can start right now! I remember how Aaron's instructor taught him, but again it did take a few months, and I'm not a professional, and I don't remember it that well...but we can try!" Melissa said enthusiastically. This is gonna go downhill very quickly. She shot up, walked over to me and grabbed my hands. Then she pulled me out of my wheelchair, and I started wobbling and loosing balance.

"Ok, just try to maintain your balance and try to walk." I was holding back tears, my legs were on fire. I didn't think I could move them. My ears and tail popped out as a reaction, and they flopped down.

"Melissa, I can't move my legs." I whimpered.

"Just try. I have your hands so you won't fall." I did as she said and lifted my left leg the best to my ability. It only lifted about two centimeters off the ground, but there was no way I could move it further. I lost all my balance and practically fell over, but me and Melissa just swung around in a circle because she was holding on to my hands. Then Melissa got her balance back and pulled me up and set me back in my chair.

"Ok, maybe I don't know what I'm doing." Melissa admitted.

"Oh really, I hadn't noticed." I said sarcastically.

"It's fine. I'll just call up Aaron's old therapy teacher and he can teach you. For now, I'll help you get ready for the party tonight! Melissa pushed my wheelchair up the stairs and into my old room. I would rather crawl up the stairs, it was so bumpy. And another thing, how am I supposed to get my wheelchair down the stairs again? That's something to think about when the time comes. For now, let me just pick out something to wear other than this hospital shirt and Aaron's sweater on top.

I got dressed and wore one of my favorite outfits. I wore a purple necklace, and wore a white long sleeve shirt with black spaghetti strings. I wore black shorts and purple sandals, and the final touch was the big purple bow I put in my hair. I'm glad it's summer time. Before Melissa comes down, I put my ears and tail away, just now remembering they were out.

"Melissa, are you ready?" Aaron asked next to me.

"Yep! I'm just grabbing my bag, and then we can go!" Melissa shouted from upstairs.

"So.." I said to break the silence. "You excited to go to the party?" I asked to make some small talk.

"A little. I-I'm not really sure what I'll do there though..." Aaron replied. Then we both fell back into the awkward silence. Melissa couldn't've run down the stairs faster to get us out the door.

"Alright you two lov- uh, buddies, let's get outa here to have some fun!" Melissa shouted and opened up the door. Aaron felt the door and walked out, and Melissa pushed me outside. We started walking next door to Kawaii~Chan's house. When we were at the front door we could hear music playing. I guess the party already started. Melissa knocked on the door and KC answered.

"Hey guys! Glad you could make it!" Kawaii~Chan cheered. She ushered us into the house, and we saw everyone having a good time. I even saw the werewolf pups! When Melissa wasn't looking I rolled up to the three.

"GUYSIT'SSOGOODTOSEEYOUAHHH" I yelled to scare them. They jumped and turned to look at me.

"Alpha!" The trio screamed. They talked me in the wheelchair and squeezed me tight. I hugged and held tears back.

"I'm so glad to see you guys!"

"So are we! We missed you Alpha!" Dottie exclaimed.

"Yeah! We were also getting bored without you." Rylan added. I decided to talk to them for a bit, so we went closer to the living room.

"We've been checking on Aaron every other day since you've been gone." Daniel mentioned.

"Thanks guys. Right now, he needs all the help he can get. I wish I could, but I'm stuck in this dinky wheelchair." I said pointing to the wheelchair.

"I'm sure if you practice walking a lot, you'll be out of there in no time!" Dottie encouraged.

"Thanks Dottie." I chuckled. I started feeling parched, so I excused myself to go get some juice in the dining room. I rolled myself over, poured myself a glass, and sat there staring at nothing in particular, drinking my juice. As I was staring into space, I noticed in the corner of my eye someone that caught my attention. I looked over my shoulder, and saw a man with a blue streak in his hair glaring at me. He had werewolf ears, and cuts on his face. He had gray eyes, but I could swear I saw them flash green, which horrified me. When he noticed me looking, he looked a little panicked. Someone at the party walked in front of me, so I lost sight of who I was staring at. When he finally moved after two seconds, the man was gone.

That couldn't be the person I think it was, right? He's supposed to be dead! He IS dead. I know he is.

I rolled back to Dottie, Rylan and Daniel feeling uncomfortable.

The party was finally over, and Melissa took me and Aaron back home. When we got back, Melissa rolled me back upstairs to my room and I closed the door. I rolled next to my bed, but before I put myself in it, I just sat in my wheelchair...thinking.

Was that who I think it was? I never actually saw his body, like the last time I thought he was dead.

Maybe someone brought him back? No no no, who would even do that!? They would have to be a psycho to even think of doing that!

...But there's still a chance...

No. no one would do that. At least no one that I know now. Everyone that I knew that could is dead. I must be seeing things again. This is another thing I would see besides Aaron anyways. This is why I still have panic attacks sometimes. I should really find a better medicine to take for my heart. It's making me go crazy. Maybe I should just go to sleep and worry about the medicine tomorrow. I launched myself onto my bed and covered my body with my purple blanket.

"Wait! I almost forgot." I got myself back into the wheelchair and grabbed Aaron's hoodie. I put it on, got back in bed and drifted to sleep.
