~Chapter 14~

I knew this would happen.

No matter how much time you give a girl, they're always gonna be in a mad rush before they have to go somewhere. It was only a few days ago that Hannah was over sorting out my clothes for today so I could avoid this type of rush, yet here I was, running around like a maniac with less than 20 minutes to be ready.

I pulled on the light summery red dress that Hannah had chosen, and my red ballet flats. The weather had been pretty great lately, warm with a cool breeze, the sun shining all day and hardly any clouds. I wouldn't be out in the crowd or the sun anyway, so it was the perfect outfit for the occasion, all chosen by Hannah. My blonde hair fell in loose beach waves down my back.

I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and a few moments later my bedroom door opened, revealing a stunningly beautiful Hannah. She wore a cream coloured dress, which complimented her tanned skin. Her hair was out and straightened. In a way, we matched, yet we looked so different.

"I knew you'd be ready on time..." She laughed sarcastically.

I looked away from the mirror where I was fixing my fringe, sticking my tongue out at her, before returning to pinning the short strands back.

"You look fine, let's go!" Hannah called, walking out my open bedroom door and back down the stairs.

Satisfied with everything, I grabbed my phone and followed her out to Ashton's car, in which sat Ashton in the driver's seat, and Mr Luke Hemmings in the back seat. I smiled, getting in next to Luke. He instantly grabbed my hand, his fingers slipping in the spaces between mine easily.

He looked at me, a small little smile creeping onto his face. I couldn't help but look him up and down, he was wearing his usual singlet and jeans, but something was...different. I chuckled when I realized what it was, watching his smile fade and his eyebrows raise, revealing those adorable crinkles in his forehead.

"Luke did you....Iron your clothes?"

"Well yeah, I mean I don't usually but I'm standing next to you today so I don't wanna look like some hobo next to my beautiful girl..."

Hannah and Ashton both looked at each other and 'Naww'-ed simultaneously, making me remember that we weren't alone in the car.

Luke blushed and turned to look out the window.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Ashton we've driven down this road six times... we're lost."

Luke complained, sighing for the fiftieth time.

"I know Luke. Geez, where the hell is this turnoff or whatever?"

"How bloody hard is it to find Hyde Park?! I mean it's not like it's a tiny place. It's huge! Drive toward the massive park, Y'know where all the grass is? And trees? And screaming fangirls? Yeah that place!!"

Hannah and I kept silent as the boys argued over directions. It wasn't a terrible argument; it'd be resolved when we got to the venue, so I wasn't very worried.

Ashton was about to give up and ring Adam their manager- in embarrassment- and ask for directions, when I had an idea.

"Hey look, there's a girl holding an 'I LOVE LUKE HEMMINGS' poster just up the road there on the left. She obviously knows where she's going, ask her?" I suggested.

The car continued up the road before pulling over on the side in line with the girl who was walking. Luke rolled the window down, popping his head out.

"Hey!" He said. The girl almost fell over. I laughed, she must've had a pretty big crush on Luke, judging by the sign and the way she was acting.

But then Luke said something I wish he hadn't.

"Get in the car sweetie, Ashton doesn't know where Hyde Park is. I'm trusting that you have a better sense of direction than him." He laughed before opening the door.

Outside stood a girl, with blonde hair and amazing green eyes. She was tall with a model's build. Her smile was perfect and her face clear of pimples. I felt a sudden rush of jealousy erupt in my head, because... Well, next to her I looked like a bruised apple. I wasn't as pretty as her, and she was standing in front of my boyfriend.

Luke gestured for her to get in the car, and as the only space left was in-between Luke and myself, that's exactly where she sat.

"Hey, I'm Stacie. Stacie Brooks."

She turned to me, smiling. I smiled back, trying to act casual. Then she started to give driving directions to Ashton, and in a matter of minutes, we'd arrived at Hyde Park. We snuck around the back, meeting with Calum, Michael and Adam, just in time.

"Where have you guys been? We had to do soundcheck without you! You're on in 2 minutes okay?" Adam said, before leaving towards the side of the stage.

Calum and Michael walked over to the steps that led up to the stage, just waiting there for the other two. Ashton hugged Hannah tight, before kissing her several times and then joining the others at the stairs. That left Luke, Stacie and myself.

"Thanks for the directions Stacie; honestly if it wasn't for you we would've been so late. I owe you."

He hugged her, and judging by the excited look on her face she was fangirling so bad on the inside. She walked past me to join the crowd out in front of the stage, chuckling.

"30 SECONDS LUKE." Adam yelled over the crowd, who were starting to amp up with the excitement. The other boys and Hannah were already backstage, ready with their instruments, and Hannah waiting for me. We'd watch them onstage from the side; I was part of their team now. I felt pretty lucky, but because I'd never been in one of their fan's positions, I guess I didn't know what it was like to be out there in the crowd, hoping and praying they'd catch my eye, wave and smile at me or touch my hand. I'd gone straight from a nobody to being in with them, something every fan would have dreamed of, maybe even written fan fiction about... (A/N- mwahaaha)

Luke grabbed me by the hand and we ran up the stairs. He slipped his guitar on and fixed his hair, and with 5 seconds to go before they'd run onstage, he cupped my face with his hand and kissed me. It was a short kiss, but I felt his every emotion in it.

And then they ran on, the lights focussing on them, the music playing and the fans screaming. How they could even hear each other onstage, I had no idea of.

About half way through the setlist, the boys took a break, running offstage to get a drink. When they went back on, they met in the middle of the stage, whispering something. The fans were still going berserk and Hannah and I looked at each other, eyebrows raised.

"Alright guys, we'd love to introduce you to two special girls today. You probably all know Hannah, Ashton's girlfriend, So Hannah; get your ass out here please." Michael announced.

I noticed Michael did the most talking in the band when they were onstage. Luke sang but hardly spoke.

Hannah blushed red, shaking her head at Michael who was looking at her offstage. He looked to Ashton, who proceeded to walk off and drag her on by the hand. She seemed to loosen up a bit once he was there to protect her. She waved and the crowd cheered, making her blush and look down at her feet. Ashton tilted her chin up with his finger, and kissed her lightly on the forehead. The fans screamed like they'd never seen two people in a relationship before. Ashton laughed and looked to Michael who continued into the microphone.

"And now I'd like to hand over to Luke, who has an announcement to make."

Michael stepped away from the mic, gesturing for Luke to take up the position. I laughed. Pssh, as if he was gonna say more than two words.

Luke proceeded to pull the microphone from its stand, and started walking over toward me. No, no, he wouldn't do this. He wouldn't bring me out on stage in front of hundreds -if not thousands- of judgemental people.

Once he got close to the side of the stage he started talking.

"So not too long ago, I met the most amazing girl. I think even from the first moment I saw her, I knew that she was special, different. But most of all, in that moment, I knew I needed her in my life." He stepped offstage, taking me by the hand. I resisted his attempts to pull me onstage at first, but then he looked me in the eye and those ocean blue orbs melted my soul, and I felt myself stepping onstage. He smiled, and then brought me to the centre of the stage, facing him. I don't know where the others were, I think they might've been up the back, but I didn't really take any notice, I was too busy looking into Luke's eyes.

"Everyone, this is Lexi Reid, my girlfriend. And I've never felt the way I feel about her, toward anyone else."

The crowd cheered, although I could hear a few boo's in there too. I kinda wished I had a tissue on me, since I was getting a little teary eyed, He'd just introduced me to his world as his girlfriend.

I didn't have much time to think about crying though. Before I knew it, his lips crashed onto mine and I'd forgotten there was anyone watching anyway.
