Chapter XVIII- 𝐽𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑦

Eren POV

I left the cafeteria once the bell rang and walked through the corridors and through the exit. I had free period for last class, usually I would hang around with my friends if I ever had a free period but today, I just felt so irritated.

𝑊ℎ𝑜 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑀𝑖𝑘𝑎𝑠𝑎 𝑎𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑜 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ?

I kept thinking about the lucky guy who would be having Mikasa as their partner for the Fall dance and then it hit me.

Floch.

I saw them earlier talking when I was walking back home. Was it then or was it in class? I groaned and face palmed. I'm so stupid, I should have just built up the courage to face her and tell her that I liked her and now that chance is long gone. I sighed and continued my trek home.

𝐼 𝑎𝑚 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒- 𝐼 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑦 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑

There's no way, I'm not gonna show up just to be slapped in the face when I see Floch and Mikasa together. I still can't believe Mikasa agreed to go with him, out of everyone, she chose Floch.

𝑊𝑎𝑖𝑡 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 ℎ𝑖𝑚?

𝑃𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒 𝑛𝑜.

I kept thinking losing focus on my surroundings, and before I knew it, I had reached home. I walked up the steps of my porch and unlocked the house door. I stepped in and saw Zeke sitting on the island chair, with his hands intertwined and him facing me.

𝑊𝑎𝑠 ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑚𝑒?

"𝐇𝐞𝐲?"-I said wearing a confused expression

"𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧."-He said in a stern voice

He had a serious look on and it seemed he needed to tell me something important. I approached him and reluctantly sat down on the other chair and ppaced my bag on the island top. The serious look he had on completely vanished and now he had an excited look on his face.

"𝐎𝐤 𝐨𝐤 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥, 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫?"-Zeke beamed

𝑂ℎ 𝐺𝑜𝑑

"𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲?"- He continued

"𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐞𝐬?"-Zeke continued

The questions kept coming until I finally gave him an answer.

"𝐍𝐨 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐡𝐞𝐫."-I said

"𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐧𝐨𝐭?"-He asked me wearing an irritated expression

"𝐒𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐡 𝐠𝐮𝐲."-I responded

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝'𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬."-He said and facepalmed

"𝐇𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲!"-I defened myself

He scoffed and rolled his eyes and got up from his chair.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞."-He muttered and went upstairs to his room

𝐴𝑚 𝐼 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑔𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑎 𝑒𝑛𝑑 𝑢𝑝 𝑎𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑒?

I heard footsteps and I looked back at the stairs and saw Zeke on the fourth step,  he eyed me and pointed his index finger at me.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥."-He said sternly and ascended the stairs once again.

I groaned and leaned on the island top and stayed like that for a a good few minutes before going up to my room._____________________________

Friday came around and I was getting dressed for school, although today waa the Fall dance, classes we're not canceled. I had also laid out my outfit for the dance I was dreading to go to. The outfit consisted of a space blue suit, a black bowtie, black corperate shoes, and a white button down collar long sleeved shirt. I wore khaki pants, a white sweater and Nike's and left my room.

I descended down the stairs and greeted my older brother Zeke. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a half full water bottle that sit standing still in the refrigerator. I waved goodbye to Zeke who was on a call who I assume was Yelena. Yelena and Zeke met a few weeks ago, apparently she had moved from that ratchet Marley to here a month ago. He seemed to like her a lot and though Zeke didn't know it, I genuinely felt happy for him that he finally found someone. I thought he was going to die alone, boy was I wrong.

I stepped outside my house and closed the door behind me before desending the porch steps. I looked to my right and saw a cosmic pile of leaves in my neighbors' driveway.

I continued my trek to school, kicking the the small-scaled rocks before me. In the corner of my eye I saw Mr.Green step out unto his porch. I despised the old man, always yelling at little kids who would walk past his house. He probably despised me now after confronting him about his rude behavior. Before he could lay his eyes on me, I quickly crossed the road and cane acroos the schoolground.

There in the front of the school was that detestable creature, most people would confuse him for a human. I know he just liked Mikasa because of her body which disgusted me to the core.

I walked past Floch and entered the building, the halls we're a bit crowded, some kids on their phones, some have a chat with others and some going through their lockers. My gaze landed upon a raven haired girl who was smiling and talking with Sasha.

𝑂ℎ 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑢𝑡 ℎ𝑒𝑟 ℎ𝑎𝑖𝑟.

𝐼𝑡 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑠 𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑧𝑖𝑛𝑔.- 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑣𝑜𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑚𝑦 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑑

She looked at me and I averted my attention elsewhere and quickly walked past her and made a beeline for my class. I sighed and sat down next to the window and just miments later had Mikasa made her way towards me and sat down on a seat. Now we sat abreast not saying a word to one another. I couldn't take the awkward silence anymore abd faced the beautiful girl near me.

"𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐡?"-I asked her in an aggravated tone

She eyed me before responding to my inquiry.

"𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭?"-She asked me with a puzzled expression

"𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰."-I said and shrugged my shoulders

She shook her head looked down on at her textbook and opened it to a certain page.

"𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬."-She said with a stern expression

"𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐮𝐲𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝."-I muttered under my breath

"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭?"-She asked me

"𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠."-I confirmed and faced the window with my chin sitting in my palm.

"𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧."- I whispered to myself__________________________
