Chapter 37
19:25, 17 June 2017A/N: I am going out on Friday night so here is an early update:)
Jade's POV
I slowly woke up from my slumber when I heard someone calling me, I opened my eyes turning my head, and saw my mam standing next to my bed.
"Hey pet. Dinner's ready"
"Thanks mam" I nodded and yawned.
"I can't wake this one up so I would just let you do it" She pointed at Perrie, who was still fast asleep, arms securely wrapping around my waist. My cheek heated up when I realized my mam seeing us cuddling on the bed. I looked up at my mam but she didn't seems to mind.
"Will do" I mumbled. My mam smiled and left the room. When I was sure she headed downstairs, I rolled around so I was now on top of Perrie.
"Baby wake up"
I groaned when she didn't move one bit, I sighed frustratingly knowing exactly what to to wake her up. I started showering kisses all over her face except her heart-shaped lips until I felt her starting to stir, her eyes remained close. I knew at this point she was awake, but she was going to pretend to be asleep until I kissed those lips. She is such a sneaky shit but I am not complaining though.
Normally I won't give in to her act so easily but our mams were waiting for us downstairs so I guessed I had no time to tease her this time. I pressed my lips on her kissing those soft lips, and smiled when I felt her immediately kissed me back. I pulled away even though I wanted the kiss to be a lot longer, but we always lost track of time when we kiss, and I didn't want to risk the chance of our mams coming up to get us and saw us kissing. It doesn't mean I don't want them to know about us, but I definitely don't want them to find out in this way, it would be extremely embarrassing.
"Dinner is ready. Now get up you sleepy head." She opened her eyes revealing those captivating blue eyes. She gave me a pout clearly not happy of me ending our kiss so soon.
"Baby our mams are waiting for us. You don't want them catch us eating each other's face off do you?" She blushed and nodded bashfully. I chuckled and pecked her lips one more time.
"Jade. Norma just told me she asked you to wake Perrie up. I knew how hard it is to wake her lazy ass up so I come up to help and I bring some ice cold water to help in case she-" Debbie stopped at the door when she spotted us. My cheek heated up as I was still straddling on Perrie's waist with our face dangerously close to each other, definitely not a normal position "friends" would be in, the only relief was our lips were no longer connected.
"Oh I don't think you need my help anymore so I am gonna leave now you never see me" She mumbled and quickly left the room
"I can't believe she wants to throw cold water on me!" Perrie whined. I looked at her in shock as she still didn't realize what her mother just saw.
"Pez your mom just saw me on top of you and you are complaining on the cold water!" I gasped
"Shit!" Her eyes widened when she finally caught up with what just happened
"Yes baby. I think we might be exposed, in the most awkward way" I sighed
"No it's not. At least we were not kissing when she walked in." She laughed. I swatted her arm playfully
"Do you think she know?" I asked timidly
"Well we could only find out when we go down" She shrugged
"Why aren't you nervous?" I asked in incredulity
"Why should I? If she knows or suspects us, I could finally tell her you are mine" She beamed at me
"What if she doesn't like us together?" I frowned
"No she won't. She loves you remember? More than me" She chuckled, but it soon stopped.
"What about your mom?" She bit her lip
"Don't be silly Pez. You know she loves you" I pressed on her bottom lip to release it from between her teeth, and gave it a peck. She smiled and sat us both up.
"We should go down now. Knowing my mom, the longer we spend in here, the more creative her mind would be" She winked at me. I gasped and nodded, dragging her downstairs but stopped when we were about to face our mams.
"Should we say something or act like nothing has happened?" I turned to ask Perrie
"Um...I think we better wait to see what my mom is gonna say. Maybe she didn't suspect a thing" I highly doubted that but I nodded anyway as I thought it was the best thing to do. We walked into the dining room and saw our mams were setting up the table.
"Hey girls. Take a sit" My mam greeted us while placing dishes on the table. I squealed when I saw what it was, any worries I was having were forgotten
"Lasagna! Mam you are the best!" I kissed her cheek
"It's not just me. Debbie helps too"
"Thank you Debbie" I walked to Debbie and gave her a hug.
"No problem Jade." She pulled away slightly and it seems to me she wanted to say something, so I waited for her to mention what happened earlier, but she just gave me a smile then continued setting up the table, so I went to take a seat next to Perrie.
"What did she say?" Perrie asked
"She didn't say anything actually...it's weird right?" I frowned
"Maybe it's not such a big deal to her? If it is, she won't able to keep her mouth shut" Perrie shrugged
"I can't believe you just say that! She's your mom Pez" I gasped and she just chuckled.
"So am I the only one not getting any kiss or hug?" She whined
"Baby we just kissed on the bed remember?"
"That's too short to be a kiss. It's a peck at most" She pouted and I wished I could gave her a kiss right now to make it disappear.
"Later babe. Not when our mams are here" I cooed and she nodded happily. I swore sometimes she is so childish, but the worst part is I find it too adorable to reject any of her requests
Our mams sat across us at the table and we started eating. We told our mams our upcoming schedule and they filled us in of what happened back home, it was so nice to catch up with them because I miss my family so much, and I am sure Perrie does too. I also noticed my mam was all smiling again, so I guessed we both are ready to put the grief behind us.
"Norma I can't wait anymore. Can we ask them now?" I heard Debbie asked my mam eagerly after we finished dinner. My mam nodded and cleared her throat, then looked at us with a serious face. What's happening? I looked at Perrie and she was just as confused as I was.
"So girls...is there anything you want to tell us?" My mam raised her eyebrows.
The first thing that came to mind was Do they know about us? Did Debbie caught us and told my mam? I looked at Perrie and I knew she was having the same thought, but since the question was too abstract so I decided to get more information before jumping to conclusion.
"W-What do you mean?" I asked, playing dumb
"What Norma meant was we noticed how close you girls had became, like inseparable. Don't think we didn't notice the hand holding when you two were hugging us, either your hands were glued together or you both didn't want to let go. When we were in the car, Jade you was like a koala clinging at Perrie when you were asleep. And do I need to mention your matching T-shirts and what I saw earlier in your bedroom?" Debbie smirked.
"Mom you are making Jade uncomfortable!" Perrie protested and that's when I realized my face must be burning red
"And I have never seen my daughter being so protective over anyone" Debbie wiggled her eyebrows which made my face redder if it was even possible. I looked at my mam and she was giving me a knowingly smile.
"Mom you-"
"It's okay Pez" I grabbed her hand and interlocked our fingers. I gave her a nod when she looked at me. It's time to tell our mams
"We are together" I said and put our hands on the table. They stared at our hands for seconds, and when they looked up, a huge grin was on their face.
"I-I guess you don't mind us dating then?" Perrie asked hesitantly, reassuring their reaction
"OF COURSE WE MIND!" They bursted out at the same time. My heart dropped to my stomach when I heard their words, and I knew Perrie was upset too as she tightened her grip on my hand We thought they would be happy...
"WHAT TOOK YOU GIRLS SO LONG TO DATE!" Debbie exclaimed. W-What?
"Of course we don't mind you two dating, delighted if we must say. We just wanna know what take you two so long?" My mam explained when she saw us both looking dumbfounded. Me and Perrie looked at each other and sighed in relief.
"We just found out we have feeling for each other a month ago so...HOLD ON!" I paused when realization hit me. My mam knew this whole time? And Debbie too?
"So you both knew we like each other this whole time?" I asked in disbelief. They nodded proudly.
"H-How?" Perrie gasped
"Mamas know best!" They were in-sync, again. Okay it was starting to terrify me as they were like two people sharing one brain.
"It's quite obvious to be honest, you two treat each other differently than others. We have noticed it from the start."
"We were so excited when you two decided to move in together, we thought you two would have figured it out but..." Debbie sighed and shook her head
"How can we possibly know mom" Perrie groaned
"Anyone has eyes would know" Debbie rolled her eyes
"What? Mom you-"
"I know you are not the smarter one so I was not counting on you. Jade. Did it ever cross your mind that maybe Perrie has feeling for you more than a friend? It was painfully obvious to us" Perrie grumbled at the comment then turned her gaze to me. I gulped slightly when all eyes on me, waiting for my answer
"I-I...It did cross my mind sometimes...but um...I thought I was overthinking. B-Because...it was never convincing enough. Like um...like when we were cuddling or holding hands, we did that with our friends too so I can't assume that were more than a "friendly" things right?" I explained. Perrie nodded, clearly having the same thought
"But there must be something...something that only you two did...I mean you two live together, there must be lots of alone time" My mam frowned
"Well we slept on my bed at night for awhile, did that count?" Perrie brought it up and I blushed
"Of course it did! And why's that huh?" Debbie smirked
"T-That's because my room was haunted, and I couldn't stand being alone in that room so that's why um...why I went to Perrie's room" I said bashfully
"Yeah so I offered to share the bed with this one and I couldn't deny I was kinda glad her room was haunted" Perrie laughed and I rolled my eyes
"I guess you were happy too didn't you pet?" My mam teased
"I-I...okay...actually that room was not that creepy" I admitted eventually
"Duh! Even though the ghost was helping but you two still didn't realize how each other feel and even dated somebody else" Debbie let out a frustrated sigh
"To be honest though, we did have our doubts when you two started dating other people, but looking at how you act towards your boyfriends, we knew you were not really in love with them. It was so apparent to us you like each other but we couldn't just tell you two that and force you to be together. So we could only wait until one day you both finally realize it" My mam added. I remembered Jesy telling us similar words, I guessed we were too oblivious to how each other felt and also too scared to admit our own feeling
"AND I CAN'T BELIEVE IT TAKES YOU FIVE YEARS GIRLS!" Debbie exclaimed
"Geez! Calm down Mom!"
"At least we figure out now" I smiled at Debbie, not forgetting to give a squeeze on Perrie's hand to calm her. I turned to face the beautiful blonde and gave her a warm smile, which she returned instantly. Now I knew how Perrie got her sensitivity from. Like mother. Like daughter.
"You are right Jade I am sorry I didn't mean to be that loud. Who else knew?"
"It's okay Debbie. Jesy and Leigh Anne, Jed, Simon, the management and our crews" I listed
"How did Simon react?" My mam asked concernedly
"He is fine with it. We thought he was going to force us to break up but he didn't. However, we couldn't tell the public yet because he said it would affect our promo" I stated
"If he forced you to split up I swear I would keep banging his head on the table, so hard until he could finally make up his mind!" I gulped as I didn't expect Debbie to be so...violent, but at the same time the evil side of me did want to witness that.
"Mom calm down! And you didn't need to cause I knew Jesy would have done that" Perrie laughed
"So when could you tell the public?" My mam asked
"Simon didn't say an exact time...he only said we could do it when us girls got the credit we deserved in our career...but he did say he believes it won't take long" Perrie shrugged
"You have just got your No.1 single right?" Debbie crooked her eyebrow
"Yeah but we have three before so I don't think that's enough...at least not for us" I sighed
"I am sure you are going to do great girls so it won't take long. Even though you might not be able to tell the world just yet, just knew that we are your biggest supporters, we are so happy for you" My mam grinned and pat on our interlocked hands
"YES! I am so euphoric now and I knew I might shout a lot, I am sorry if I scared you Jade" Debbie chuckled and squeezed my free hand. I smiled and shook my head, being intimidated by her was the least thing I would say. Debbie is so kind and nice to me, sometimes Perrie even complained she treated me better than her, I already felt like she is my other mum, and I knew my mam loves Perrie just as much.
"Yes you are mom! Don't you scare her away from me!"
"Hey don't you dare talk to your mom like that!"
"Not until you keep your voice down!"
I looked at my mam and we both giggled at the sight of the mother and daughter bantering. It's not like me and my mam didn't do that, but not as frequent as those two that's for sure. It didn't concern us at all as we knew it was their ways of bonding, and I am sure I am gonna witness it a lot in the future.
I could see it. I could see our future together. And this time I am convinced.
A/N: I am sure Debbie is more mature in real life but well...it's funny so whatever lol
I was having a hard time finding the right song to match this chapter, and then "18" started playing, so I started counting how old Jerrie were back in 2011, then BOMB they were 18 and I was like "This is it!" LMAO
I just watched the season finale of The 100 and I was like...wtf why you ended like that! I have to wait for season 5 now \ /
