16 - Dancing in the rain
12:32, 21 February 2025Just as we step out of the bar, I stop and squeeze Jungkook's hand.
"What is it? Something wrong?"
I sigh. "Not exactly... but it's pouring, and I forgot to bring an umbrella."
He chuckles. "I have a massive one with me. Want me to roll here with it?"
"No, I don't want your car getting soaked because of me."
His lips curve into a smirk. "Don't you remember, doll? My car has leather seats. Maybe we should do something filthy in there, so you never forget again."
I playfully smack his chest. "Enough with the dirty talk, sir."
Still smirking, he brushes a damp strand of hair behind my ear. "I have an idea. Come on."
Before I can react, he grabs my hand and pulls me out onto the rain-soaked street.
"Jungkook, what are you doing? We're both going to be drenched!"
His eyes glint with mischief. "Doll, your list... Let's dance in the rain."
I hesitate. "No, that's ridiculous. I don't want you getting sick."
He tilts his head. "One, never say that again—whatever you want is never ridiculous. Two, I never get sick. I take damn good care of myself. Now, what do you say?"
"I don't think this is the right moment..."
"Y/n, you already checked off one thing from your list tonight—with a stranger, no less. If you don't do this one with me, I'll be very offended." He pouts dramatically, making me laugh.
"If there was music, it would help set the mood..." I joke.
Jungkook raises an eyebrow. "I'll sing for you."
I blink at him in disbelief. "Seriously?"
"Why not? I'm basically a walking jukebox. Now, you really can't say no."
I step closer, looking up at him, and without hesitation, he wraps an arm around my waist, taking my hand in his. Our faces are so close that I can feel his breath against my skin. Then, in a soft, low voice, he starts to sing.
"What would I do without your smart mouth?Drawing me in, and you kicking me outYou've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down..."
Goosebumps rise on my skin, and my throat tightens. His voice is beautiful—so much more beautiful than I ever imagined. I could listen to him sing John Legend forever.
"...Give your all to meI'll give my all to youYou're my end and my beginningEven when I lose, I'm winning..."
I try to hold out. I really do. But when he reaches the next part—
"...Cards on the table, we're both showing heartsRisking it all, though it's hard..."
—I can't take it anymore. I smash my lips against his.

We arrive at my place, both drenched, but neither of us cares. Jungkook gently cups my cheek.
"Go shower and change before you catch a cold."
"Only if you do too. I think I have an oversized shirt that might fit you. While we eat, I can throw your clothes in the wash."
After the shower, I change into comfortable clothes—just a t-shirt and shorts—then search through my closet for the biggest shirt I own. I giggle as I hand it to him.
"Here, you'll find a towel in the bathroom."
"Thanks. Be right back—I almost forgot something."
I look at him, confused. "What?"
He smirks before he leans in and presses a quick peck on my lips. "That."

By the time the pasta is ready, Jungkook returns from his shower. The moment I see him in my shirt and his boxers, I burst into laughter.
"Pink looks good on you."
He groans dramatically. "No, Y/n. YOU look good on me. But I guess this shirt will do."
Still laughing, I pop our clothes into the washing machine. "Alright, let's eat."
We sit down, and I dig into my food, but Jungkook barely touches his plate. He just pokes at the pasta with his fork, deep in thought.
"Jungkook, is everything okay? You look... troubled."
He snaps out of his daze. "Oh, sorry. The food's great, really. My mind's just been... overwhelmed lately."
I tilt my head. "You know you can tell me anything, right?"
He gives me a small smile. "I know, doll. But I'd rather not talk about it just yet. I promise, once I'm past all of this, I'll tell you everything, okay?"
He takes my hand and kisses my knuckles before looking around. "By the way, I don't think I said this before, but I really like your place."
I smile. "I love it, too. I found this apartment by accident four years ago. Thought I'd only stay for a few months... but I fell in love with it. I can't imagine living anywhere else now."
Jungkook swallows his bite before smirking. "Oh, really? Not even if you moved to Hawaii? Picture this—you, lounging by the pool while two handsome men fan you with palm leaves, sipping margaritas all day."
I nearly choke on my food from laughing. "No, I don't need Hawaii or two guys. The margarita, however, is tempting."
He chuckles. "Alright, fair enough. But let's talk about something else... You're speeding through your list, aren't you? How many have you checked off, and what's left?"
I pull out my crumpled list and sigh. "Damn, you're right. I've already completed seven. The ones left are: get a tattoo, make out with someone in an elevator, and say 'yes' to something completely out of my comfort zone."
Jungkook hums. "Hmm. Are you trying to finish it this fast on purpose?"
"Not really, but honestly, I'm kind of glad it's almost done..."
He shakes his head. "Doll, a bucket list isn't something you just rush through. You're supposed to enjoy every single moment of it."
His words hit me hard. My cheeks grow warm because he's right. I have been enjoying every moment.
And with three items left, I want to savor every second.
