Epilogue

08:28, 6 January 2025

Ebony watched from the sidelines as Powder danced so gracefully, swinging her hips and her arms above her head. Ekko had a wide smile on his face as he looked at his beloved dancing to the beat of the music.

They swung together all laughter and bright smiles, but Ebony could only stare at the girl she had been falling in love with as she danced with someone else.

The two of them might have been soulmates but this time, it wasn't the romantic kind.

But Ebony was okay with that, she was okay with watching Powder from the sidelines, even if it meant never truly being happy.

So the pink-haired girl leaned against the bar with her two long braids out in front of her and took a drink, a silent toast to herself, for love, for something she may never truly grasp.

-

"Vi! Vi, hurry, you can make the other ledge," Jinx yelled to her sister below her. She balanced on a broken fan blade reaching out towards Violet. All her curealan hair had been cut to a pixie beside her front bang that was streaked with pink, a representation of her passed soulmate.

But the woman didn't respond, she simply cradled Vander's changed face, everything had changed, Mylo, Claggor, Ebony, Minx, she'd lost too much, and he couldn't lose him too.

So Violet cried, she cried into her father's body as it lay still on the breaking wind turbine.

"You can't save him!"

But then Vander awoke, all claws and sharp teeth he roared toward Vi causing the majority of the fan blade's rickety metal nails to pop out leaving it unstable.

Jinx jumped and slammed her body into that of the beast's causing them both to fall. One of her small hands was encapsulated in Violet's gauntlet as her sister held onto her for the last time.

The monster's claws surrounded Jinx's legs pulling her further and further down.

So Jinx looked into her sister's powder-blue eyes and smiled, "Always with 'ya, sis."

-

"Great minds think alike, huh?" A voice asked from behind the ventilator shaft. It was soft, and kind, a voice so familiar Jinx thought she was dreaming.

"You're not real," Jinx cried silent tears as she cradled her body in the ventilation joint.

Her pink eyes shot open as she felt banging to the beginning of the metal, "Would I be right here if I wasn't real?"

And there she was. The bottom of her hair was now to her chin with small singed pieces falling in front of her face but those eyes, oh those eyes, were so unmistakable, and they were staring into her right now.

the ventilation shaft was small but it still fit the two of them, so when Jinx launched herself onto her other half she accepted the hug freely.

"You were- you were gone."

"Don't you remember, Jinx, you said it," the girl raised air quotes, "'No matter what, neither of us can seem to die.'"

Minx pulled away from her girlfriend only to cradle her face in her hands, "You didn't jinx it, babe." She smiled pulling her lover in for a kiss. Their lips embraced each other and after everything, it was the only thing that truly felt real.

Tears flooded Jinx's eyes as they shot open, "But- Isha, is she?"

"I had one vial of shimmer left, and I know it wasn't the most approved of metho-"

She was interrupted by another grateful spontaneous kiss.

Minx wiped away her lover's tears, "Let's get you outta here, 'kay?" Her strong yet small hands wrapped around Jinx's waist and a force began to pull them upwards. Only now did Jinx realize the harness around Minx's bottom half.

At the top they were met with Ekko and Isha, both pulling the rope attached to Minx's waist.

At the sight of Isha Jinx fell to her knees letting the small girl run and envelop herself around Jinx. Tears were spilled on both sides, hot salty tears dripped onto the metal fan from both girls' faces.

Minx sat beside the two greatest loves of her life and wrapped her arms around them both. Slowly but surely they pulled away and moved to stand up.

Ekko was the next person Minx ran to, he had never received a hug from the girl so his eyebrows shot up and his eyes opened wide but he gradually wrapped his arms around her too.

"Thank you, Ekko, for taking care of her," She spoke softly as she pulled away motioning for everyone to follow her.

They tailed her to the large opening in the building which had an airship waiting for them on the other side.

Minx smiled as she watched Jinx's eyes open wide, a large grin settling on her face.

"Think you can fly it?" The pink-haired girl asked as she and Isha made jazz hands in front of the opening.

Jinx scoffed as she laughed, "Think? Toots, I'm gonna fly the fuck outta this thing!"

The white-haired boy stepped backward as he let the three have their moment, watching from the sidelines as Jinx gave her lover a huge sloppy kiss on her cheek.

He smiled sadly, "This is where I'll leave you two, I've got people to take care of an-"

"We know Ekko, it's okay," Minx smiled as she watched Jinx run and hug Ekko for the last time.

Jinx broke down in tears, "Thank you, so much, Ekko."

The blond boy hugged his childhood friend back smile fading as he blinked back the tears in his eyes, "It was really- really nice getting to grow up with y-you both," he studdered.

Gradually, his tears began to dry and he let go, and he let go forever.

He watched as the three girls walked away and boarded their very own air airship, ready to travel the world, free from the cycle at last.

"Oh, and you better keep our secret, Ekko!" Minx yelled as the airship began to fade away, soluting the boy once before turning around and looking into the horizon.

That was the last day anyone ever heard of the Xs, and also the last day they ever stepped foot in Piltover. They began a life far away where there was no need to hold a weapon, or reason to stay hungry, they found a place where they were utterly and truly, meant to be.

A/N SOBBING MY FREAKING HEART OUT DUDE. Yes, this is the real ending, no, I was not about to have Minx die and that be the ending wtf.
