Chapter 11
05:45, 25 March 2014Chapter 11
HARRY'S POV:
I watched Oswin tell the story, watching her perfect lips form each word as she told the story to Noël. Her beautiful voice filled everyone's ears.
I thought I was over her.
But once she stepped in and I saw her face. All of my feelings came back as fast as a dropping stone.
When we were together a decade ago, I couldn't picture life without her. For several years, I had to deal with her not wanting to be a part of my life. Now, I'm not so sure of what I was supposed to feel.
When we first met, it was like we were telepathic.
*FLASHBACK*
I looked at Oswin and she looked at me while Ed and Melanie were awkwardly greeting each other. I smirked, making sure she was on the same wavelength and she smiled back.
Once Ed and Melanie ran out of things to say to each other, me and Oswin slowly directed them to the kitchen.
"Oh, shit! The food!" Mel exploded, running over to the stove. Ed unexpectedly went to help her.
I looked at Oswin, raising my eyebrows, showing what I was signalling.
We left the two alone, making our way towards my living room.
I sat myself on the couch, spreading my legs across the small table in front of me.
Oswin squeezed herself towards the other end of the couch.
"So, Clara," I paused to hear her irritated sigh, "what's it like living in America? Fun? Exciting? Maybe, fattening?" I asked the last one sarcastically.
She laughed before asking, "You've been there before, haven't you? Being a part of that big boyband and all."
"Yes, but such a beautiful girl must have trouble roaming the streets with those big, scary horndogs there!" I said.
She held back her laugh, loosening up, and relaxing across the couch a little more.
"Yeah, well, you must have trouble with all the girls swooning you, eh?" She threw back.

MELANIE'S POV:
As Oswin continued, I laughed remembering the eggs that brought me and Ed back together.
*FLASHBACK*
The pasta was boiling over, the sauce was burning, and Ed was here.
Could this night get any worser?
I was so close to completely forgetting him and I thought Harry was going to stay true to his promising word, but I guess not.
Ed was watching me from where he was leaning against the doorframe while I tried to do everything in my power to get to overflowing water to calm itself down.
"You need some help there?" Ed asked, genuinely meaning to become on good terms, but I was not in the mood to make up.
"No, I'm fine, Ed, I've done those a billon times." I growled.
"You've boiled over your pasta and burnt your sauce a billion times?" He asked, confused.
I sighed, "no, you know what I mean."
"Yes, I do. But you still look like you could use some help." He told me, coming up behind me.
"Ed, move, I have to strain this and it's really heavy." I groaned.
"Lemme." He offered, holding out his hands, looking up at his tattoos.
"Ed. I got it." I told him, trying to give him a reassuring look.
"Okay, maybe I'll get the drinks out?" He offered again.
I realised that he wasn't going to go without helping.
"Sure, just get out some beer and water." I told him.
Simple instructions, right?
I certainly thought so.
"Oh, dammit." I heard him say under his breath.
"Ed, you didn't." I sighed, realising that he spilled something.
"Don't step ther-" He tried to warn me, but it was too late.
I feel backwards from the slippery floor.
"I'm so sorry, Melli, I was just getting the beer out and the eggs came out too." He apologised as he lent a hand to help me up.
I knew just as I grabbed hold of his hand that I wasn't going to get up.
"Ooph." I let out air as Ed landed on top of me.
"Sorry. Again." He said, shaking his head in his own disapproval.
I saw the perfect opportunity to do the same.
"Ed." I said his name, grabbing his attention, "I'm sorry, I loved you so much that once you noticed me, I wanted you to stay with me. I didn't know that being seventeen would have any bad affect on us. It didn't happen, because you prevented it. And I thank you. I sometimes just think about what would've happened if you said okay to my age. The hate I would get and you would get, the questions that would be asked, the rumours that would be spread. But you know one thing I loved about the image?" I asked him, "Seeing you with me."
A smile slowly crept to his face as I continued my long-overdue apology.
"So, with that being said, I'm eighteen now. Legal. For you." I told him.
"I have been waiting for that for months." He said, smiling widely.
I smiled back, satisfied, covered with egg yolk, whites and shells, and with Ed back.
