Chapter 32: Wills
01:03, 21 July 2021"Sayuri-chan, let's see which one of us is stronger, LOSER DIES!"
Those words were ended as a pulse shot from Naruto's body, the stone around him being turned into rubble as the small tower that Nagato once resided in was destroyed, Sayuri being pushed back but she quickly encased herself within the ribcage of her Susanoo, shielding herself of any real damage besides shock at such raw power that the blond she once knew wielded.
Did she stand a chance?
Her thoughts died as Naruto was suddenly in front of her Susanoo, his right hand glowing a bright yellow that flickered only slightly before rearing it back, and with a smirk that sent chills down the Uchiha's spine, slammed his fist into the purple chakra and that sent her flying out of her protective shield and through the destroyed remains of the Hidden Rain.
"What's wrong Sayuri-chan?" Naruto said with a sinister playful tone, his eyes wide and bloodshot as a grin adorned his face. For a second she saw the old Naruto she knew in the academy grinning, filled with happiness, and her small smile disappeared as it was replaced by the current Naruto, whose grin was crazed. "I thought this was exactly what you wanted!"
"Grrgh," She grunted out as she sent out a burst of lightning that enveloped Naruto, who barely flinched as he withstood the lightning attack. She quickly jumped back, watching as the teen before her simply met her eyes with those crystal blue eyes seeped with madness.
She quickly went through a series of hand seals before blowing out a large dragon head made of fire into the air. It circled in the air twice before heading straight towards Naruto, who simply held his hand up. Sayuri watched in dismay as the dragon head disappeared into what seemed to be Naruto's palm.
"Why thank you, Sayuri-chan," Naruto chirped as he took a step forward. "That chakra will be the same chakra that I'm going to use on you now. Even if it's just a little bit," His eyes seemed to glow before he slapped his hands together, his grin suddenly growing wider than ever as his hand suddenly shot in the air. "Since you started using copied techniques, allow me to show you a technique that you probably already know of," He sneered. "Sasuke invented it, and as the only one who can remember him, I will honor him by using his jutsu to demolish you FUCKING FAKE!" He screamed as lightning struck his hand, coming down from the thundering clouds above.
The crackle of the lightning pierced both Naruto's and Sayuri's ears, who could only look on in terror. That was the same technique she had used to beat Itachi! How could Naruto know this? She invented it! Who was this Sasuke? Did they make the same technique? She cursed. Too many questions and too few answers once again.
She cursed again, breaking her train of thought as she suddenly encased herself with the uppers half of her Susanoo. Ths same thing Itachi had done. . .
"Now die!" Naruto roared over the crackle of lightning as a dragon suddenly appeared from the lightning bolts. "KIRIN!" The lightning shot towards Sayuri as she reinforced her Susanoo with chakra.
Naruto watched as the Kirin enveloped the Susanoo, his grin now gone and replaced with a firm frown. He stepped forward and saw purple chakra through the remnants of the smoke and knew Sayuri had survived.
Sayuri was panting hard, her Eternal Mangekyou straining. She only survived due to the fact that she had pushed a ridiculous amount of chakra into her Susanoo, strengthening it. Is that what Itachi had done against her?
Her narrowed eyes met Naruto's mismatched blue and rinnegan eyes. He wasn't grinning anymore, any trace of madness erased from his face. "How do you know that move?" She said between gasps.
"I watched my brother use it so many times against Madara so that he eventually taught me how to use it in order to double its power."
"Bullshit!" She shouted as she deactivated her Susanoo. "I made that-" She was cut off and Naruto appeared right in front of her, his sword drawn and ready to pierce her heart before it was suddenly sucked up in a vortex, vanishing from existence.
Getting over his shock faster than Sayuri, Naruto quickly punched her in the jaw, sending the Uchiha across several feet back. He was about to go forward with his assault, but was stopped as Obito appeared in front of him, his left eye bleeding as blood crawled down his cheek.
"It's time I amend the mistake of letting you leave the village with Jiraiya after going in your head." Obito spoke, not a single ounce of his usual cheerfulness in his voice. "It's time to go home, Naruto."
"Get out of my way, Obito." Naruto spoke with a harsh glare as he felt two more pairs of footsteps come from behind him. Sakura and Sai flanked him on either side, Sakura holding both of her hands up in fists, ready to attack at a moments notice. She had a sad look in her eyes that was covered by a hardened gaze.
On his left stood Sai, his sword pointed straight towards Naruto's throat. He held an emotionless gaze. He had no attachment to him in this timeline, Naruto thought.
"Not a chance," Obito replied with a hardened tone. "This is the first time you see Sayuri in a few years and the first thing you try to do is kill her?"
"Don't act like you know anything about it!" Naruto shouted. "You understand nothing!"
"Then make me understand!" Obito shouted back in turn. "Quit putting this impossible burden on your shoulders with no one to help!"
"I don't need help! I'm strong, I'm stronger than any of you!" He shouted as he turned into a bright glowing yellow, his blue eye turning into a golden color with a thick black horizontal line and a thinner, vertical line overlapping it, replacing his pupil. His whiskers were replaced with identical black lines and his hair stood up, flickering like a flame.
Obito was about to say something but was cut off as Sakura began shouting. "Are you a fucking idiot?" She shouted. "I knew you didn't change! You're still that dumbass from the academy who keeps making even dumber choices!" She glared at him, her emerald eyes shining with anger and determination, replacing the sadness.
"Tsunade-sama explained to me what you did at the Kage Summit, that you went rogue in order to save the Leaf from another war! Ever since you went on that training trip, no, ever since we graduated you've always done things alone! You fought Orochimaru alone and got hurt, you fought Gaara alone and got hurt! You always trained alone, never wanting to spend any time with us! There were barely any moments that we were ever actually a team!
"But those few moments where we did, where we acted as a team and worked together. Talking, training, just hanging out," She had tears in her eyes now. "I treasure those memories closest to my heart! Team 7 is part of my family now and I'm not going to let you tear it apart like it's nothing!"
Naruto was silent, his Sage of Six Paths form disappearing as he looked at her with wide eyes. After a moment, his lips tugged upwards. He opened his mouth and a laugh came out.
"Heh," He chuckled before he began laughing harder. "Heheheheheh, hahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHA!" He laughed loudly as he looked up into the air. "Sakura!" He shouted in between laughs. "That sounds like something I would have said during my old life!"
"Naruto?" Obito whispered before his eyes widened. "GET BACK!" He shouted as the trio jumped back in unison. Obito landed next to Sayuri as a strong gust of wind emitted from Naruto's body, causing him to squint at Sayuri before yelling over the wind. "I know the truth about Itachi!" He shouted, causing Sayuri's eyes to wide. "And I want to talk to you about that, but right now we need to deal with Naruto."
"The only way to deal with him is to kill him!" She shouted with a glare shot towards Naruto, who was standing still as the chakra coming off of him caused the winds to pick up. "He knew about Itachi the entire time and kept quiet! He's as guilty as the elders who ordered Itachi to kill the clan!"
"We are not killing him," Obito said sternly. "We just need to get him to calm down, and the only way to calm down strong assholes like him is through sheer force!" He stood up. "Let's do this, Naruto!" He shouted.
"Sakura," Naruto spoke as the wind died down. "You are incredibly naive. Everything you just said will mean nothing in the upcoming days. Madara, or whoever they are, has eight of the nine Tailed Beasts. When the time comes, he will come to collect the Nine Tails and I will have to face him. If I fail, this world will end. If I win, then this world will continue and I will be put to death for the extermination of the Hidden Rain." He looked up, rain drops crawling down his face, the sound of the rain filling the silence.
"Executed?" Sakura whispered after a minute.
"You didn't really think I'd get off with a slap on the wrist, did you Sakura?" He asked rhetorically. "I killed thousands of people, a great number of them being civilians. Most of the Daimyos condemned me, as well as all five Kage. Either way," His eyes met Sayuri's. "I'm going to die."
"N-No!" Sakura shouted suddenly before getting quiet. "You can't. . ."
"He's right," Sai spoke in his usual monotone voice. "Naruto Uzumaki has been sentenced to death by several different Daimyo as well as all Kage from the Great Five and the leaders of smaller villages around the map. He is the most wanted man in the Great Shinobi Nations." Naruto turned to face the Root agent, ready to speak.
"You wanted this, didn't you?" Sayuri asked quickly and quietly, her hair shadowing her eyes. "On the rooftop of the hospital, you tried to kill yourself. And now," She grit her teeth in anger. "Now you're just going to do it again! You started all of this shit knowing that you'd die in the end, you could've avoided all of this and become a hero! But no, you wanted to become a monster and be put to death. You wanted this from the very beginning, didn't you?"
Naruto was silent.
"There's no way. . ." Sakura whispered in a horrified tone. Was Sayuri right?
Naruto didn't speak.
Sayuri had her answer.
"You selfish piece of shit," She shouted. "I don't really care about what happens to me, but do you know how many lives you destroyed on this suicide quest? How many minds you've broken? Hearts shattered?"
"Did I break yours, Sayuri?" Naruto spoke up in nothing but a whisper, his back still turned towards her. Sayuri's eyes widened, the words echoing in her brain.
"Did I break yours, Sayuri?"
"You bastard," She got out with a sneer. She glared at the blond. "You stupid fucking dobe!" She shouted at the top of her lungs.
"Ah, it seems I've come at a good time," A dark voice spoke. Naruto turned his head and saw the masked man a few feet away from him. "Naruto Uzumaki, I believe you know why I've come here."
Naruto glared freely at the masked man. "The pieces were set ever since you took the Eight and Two Tails. I was only waiting for you to make the first move." He quickly turned his Sage of Six Paths mode again. "And now I'm going to kill you."
"As if you ever could even put up a fight," The masked shinobi said with a chuckle. "You haven't beaten me before have you? What makes you think this is any different?" Naruto settled into a stance.
"Because this time," His Rinnegan seemed to glow. "I'm different!"
And done. How was it? Good? Bad? Rushed? Slow? Tell me!
