...Eight

It was 1:30am now and we were still on our way to Coletown. I was driving as fast as I could without being arrested and was also keeping an eye on the beautiful blonde girl sitting beside me. She had closed her eyes about half an hour ago and was sleeping peacefully now. We hadn't really talked, since talking only made her pain worse.

The wound on her side was still bleeding and I told her to put pressure on it with her hand. She had agreed with that but had fallen asleep then. I just hoped she wasnt loosing too much blood.

About twenty minutes later, we arrived in Coletown. I drove past the train station and tried to find my way back to Selena's house.

"Where the fuck is it?" I whispered angrily after driving around for a while. It was pitch black in these streets and all of them looked the same.

"Take a left here." I heard Taylor's weak voice say then. I looked over to her, her skin was really pale and she looked like she was about to pass out. "And another left here."

"Taylor? Are you okay?"

"No." She answered, closing her eyes again. I grabbed her hand and took it in mine, she was so cold.

"Oh please Selena. Be here." I whispered.

And there she was. No I'm not kidding. She was suddenly standing in the middle of the street and I had to break really hard to not drive right over her.

"Holy shit!" I said loudly. Taylor didn't even respond and just sat in her seat, asleep or passed out, I dont even know. I got out of the car, ran over to Taylor's side and got her out of the car, which stood literally in the middle of the road.

"What the fuck happened!?" Selena shouted, running over to Taylor and I, and helping me to carry the blonde out of the car.

"She was attacked by a classic werewolf." I said quickly. We both lifted her out of the car.

"Inside. Now." Selena said, leading the way while carrying Taylor with me.

"Will she be okay?" I asked the dark haired girl as soon as taylor laid on couch in the living room. Selena completely ignored me and ran to the kitchen. I kneeled down next to Taylor and took her hand in mine, she was still ice-cold and her eyes were still closed. "Please be okay." I whispered softly before Selena returned.

"Whats that?" I asked, when seeing her come back with some kind of needle and injection stuff. She ignored me again and pushed me away so that she could reach Taylor's arm. She prepared something and put it in a small tube. She then sucked the, green colored fluid up with a needle and tapped it a few times.

"What are you doing?" I asked then. She looked over at me annoyedly then. "Wolf stuff Karlie!" She replied while still tapping the needle and the fluid.

"Sorry." I mumbled. She rolled up Taylor's sleeves and put the needle in her upper arm. She then injected the fluid into Taylor's body and pulled the needle out again.

"Please get some blankets, she feels cold." She then said, running to the kitchen again. I did as she said, mentally punching myself for not thinking of getting blankets for her before. I ran up the stairs, got some blankets and ran back downstairs.

"What the hell are you doing!?" I shouted loudly as I saw Selena now cutting into Taylor's side with a sharp knife.

"Shhh, I have to focus Karlie." She said, her eyebrows furrowed.

"She is loosing so much blood already. Stop!" I shouted, running over to her and dropping the blankets on the floor and kneeling down next to Selena.

"Karlie.." She sighed. "Just give me some light and trust me okay?" I looked at her with my eyes wide open and my eyebrows raised. She was cutting into my Taylor's side with a knife, and I was supposed to stay calm?

I got my phone out of my pocket however and shined with a flashlight at the wound for her. "What are you doing?" I asked again, this time calmer, wanting to help her.

"Pieces of nail." She replied. "Ah there is one!" She got a large piece of wolf nail out of Taylor's wound with some tweezers. It was a huge, black piece of werewolf nail.

"I think thats all. The wound on her arm is a bite wound so thats fine." Selena said, more to herself than to me. To my surprise, the wound had completely stopped bleeding. "Karlie, please get me some bandages from the second drawer on the right side in the kitchen." She said quickly.

I got on my feet and ran over to the kitchen to get a bunch of bandages. "Oh and some medical alcohol stuff. Its in there too!" She shouted from the living room.

I got her everything and gave all of it to her. She put a lot of the alcohol in both of Taylor's wounds. It was very good that the blonde was asleep, otherwise she wouldve surely been in a lot more pain than she already was. Selena put a few large bandages on the wounds and stood up then. I laid some blankets over the blonde.

"What did you inject into her body?" I asked, walking after Selena who was making her way to the kitchen.

"Combination of coagulant stuff to stop her bleeding and something to keep her asleep for a little while." She explained, putting all of the stuff back into the drawer. I nodded and crossed my arms, noticing now, that I was shaking.

"You're shaking. You cold?"

"No.. just a bit stressed I think." I answered, looking at the other girl.

"No idea why." She smiled. I smiled back at her. "Still don't want that wine I got?"

"Maybe half a glass?" I replied, sitting down on a wooden chair in the kitchen. She smiled, got a bottle of white wine out of the fridge and poured both of us a glass.

"When will she wake up?" I asked as she handed one glass over to me and sat down across from me.

"Hopefully tomorrow." She replied.

"Hopefully?! What do you me-"

"Girl, I just hope she wont wake up in the night because these wounds will hurt even more now, than they did before. Classic wolf bites and scratches are the worst." She explained, slightly calming me down but also not.

"Will she be okay?"

"We should just hope Karlie. A classic wolf is like poison to us, we can be really sick from it. Like really sick." She said, smiling a small, sad smile at me and taking a sip of her wine. I took a sip too, a big sip. A little too big. I started coughing and Selena smiled wider at me.

"Small sips. Small sips." She laughed. I smiled at her and took a smaller sip this time. This was the first time I tasted wine. I had tasted beer before, but didn't really like it. Wine is okay. Well its really bitter and weird tasting. But its okay for now.

About fifteen minutes later. We had both finished our glasses and were slightly calmed down. "Im gonna check on her and then go to bed." Selena said. I nodded and followed her out of the kitchen.

"She looks okay, she feels warmer now." She said, putting a hand on her forehead. "Think she will be okay." She smiled.

I let out a nervous breath that I was apparently holding in. "God, I hope so." Selena laid a hand on my shoulder. "Try to get some rest. It has been a tough day for the both of you." I smiled a small smiled at her and nodded. "Can we carry Taylor to one of the guest rooms?" Selena nodded this time and we both lifted Taylor off the uncomfortable looking couch carefully and carried her up the stairs. We laid her down in the same bed as I slept one day ago.

"Goodnight." Selena said then as she walked out of the room. "Night." I replied.

Oh god. Where am I gonna sleep? Can I just sleep in the same bed as her?

I looked over at the pretty blonde who was still peacefully sleeping, laying underneath the warm covers, only her head popping out from underneath the blankets. I realized then, that I don't know that much about this girl. But that Im oh so in love with her.

Ill just let her sleep and ill sleep in another room.

I walked over to the blonde and kissed her forehead softly, her skin felt warm against my lips.

"KARLIE!" She screamed then. "KARLIE, WHERE ARE YOU?!" Her eyes were wide open now and they weren't the pretty blue color I was used to seeing. They were black. Pitch black.

"KARLIE!" She screamed again, pure panic on her face. I laid my hand on her forehead then. She was so warm, I had to pull my hand away to not burn it. "KARLIE!"

"Im here Tay. Im here, its okay. You're okay." I said, trying to keep my voice calm, but it was shaking nevertheless.

"KARLIE!" She screamed again. "Shhhh, I'm here. Its okay." I said, wanting to take her hand in mine but it was so hot that I couldn't even touch it.

"KARLIE, I CANT SEE!" She screamed then. "I CANT SEE!"

"She said she cant see anything!" I say in panic. Selena is standing next to me now and is looking at Taylor with wide eyes.

"Taylor, how many fingers am I holding up?" Selena asked, holding two fingers up in front of Taylor's face. Taylor's pitch black eyes opened again and looked slightly towards Selena's hand.

"I don't fucking know, Sel. Ten!?" She replied, gritting her teeth since she was obviously in loads of pain.

"Where do you have pain?" Selena asked, feeling Taylor's forehead.

"Side and arm. I don't care. Im fucking blind Selena! What the fuck is going on with me?" The blonde asked annoyedly and scared.

"Taylor you are so warm. You've got a wolf infection somewhere in your body. Its going to infect your whole body if we don't do something now." Selena said, hurriedly making her way out of the room and down the stairs.

I looked at the blonde, her face was in pure stress and pain. "Im sure it will be okay.." I mumbled softy, not knowing what to say.

"Karlie, I'm so scared. Ive never been this scared." Taylor said, her voice cracking somewhere in the middle of the sentence. I wanted to take her hand and tried to take it in mine, but her skin was so hot that I couldn't.

"Im here." I decided to say, in some kind of comforting way.

"Please don't leave me. Not again. Not ever again." Taylor whispered. There was a tear running down her cheek now. I wiped it away with a piece of my sweater, not touching her hot skin with mine.

"I didn't want to leave.." I whispered, almost inaudible.

"I didn't want you to leave either. I.. I just really thought it was safer for you.." She said, sadness in her voice.

"I know. I know Tay."

"Please don't leave me?" She asked then.

"I promise ill never leave you." I said, stroking her cheek with my sweater. She smiled weakly and then closed her eyes again.

"Taylor?"

"Tay?"

"Taylor!?"

Shit!

"SELENA, COME HERE. SHE PASSED OUT!"

Selena hurried back into the bedroom then, carrying a bunch of stuff with her. "Inject this into her arm. Now!" She said while handing me an injection needle with blue fluid inside of it.

"Now Karlie!" She said loudly when I just looked at the needle. I rolled her sleeve up and injected the fluid into her body. Taylor's body started shaking and she opened her eyes again. One eye was now half blue, half black and the other one was still pitch black. She sat up straight in the bed.

"IT HURTS!" She screamed. "IT HURTS SO MUCH! HELP ME! KARLIE!? KARLIE, HELP ME!"

"What is happening with her Selena?" I asked the other girl in pure shock.

"Inject this now!" Is all she said. She handed me another injection needle now with that same green colored fluid inside of it as before.

"Im so sorry." I said while sticking the needle in Taylor's arm. She let out a loud shriek but then fell back into the bed and closed her eyes once more. "Selena? What did I just inject into her body?" I asked in panic.

"The blue stuff was a big amount of antidote for the classic wolf wounds. And the green stuff was the same stuff as I injected earlier. For thicker blood and for sleep." She explained quickly. "Im gonna cut into her arm now, cause there must be something inside that wound still."

"Oh my god.." I mumbled, looking away as Selena put a sharp knife onto Taylor's arm.

"Think I got it!" She shouted after a while. I looked over at her hands after making sure that Taylor was still breathing for a while. "It was a fucking tooth!" She said, holding the thing up. "A whole fucking tooth!" She exclaimed, slightly excitedly.

"Selena, back to the point." I said, my voice tired but worried.

"Oh yeah." She mumbled, stitching Taylor's wound together and putting a fresh bandage on it. "Well she should be okay now, the effects can stay for a while still though." She said then.

"Are you a nurse or something?" I asked, in awe of Selena's skills.

"Well.. I was actually studying to become one before I was.. well bitten.." She explained. I nodded at her and she took her stuff and walked out of the room. "Get some rest you two." She said then, smiling a small smile at me. "You too." I said, as she closed the door.

Again I looked over at the blonde who was still sleeping, luckily. I wouldn't want her to wake up again and have that much pain. I decided then, that I would sleep with her in this bed, instead of in another room. I felt her forehead once again, and it wasn't as warm as before. Still warm, but I could touch it, so that was good.

I turned the light off, pulled the blankets up and laid down next to her. "Karlie?" I heard her whisper then.

Oh god, shes awake..

"Hi." I said quietly.

"Oh.." She said then. "I thought you were gone." I could see her face in the bright moonlight. She opened her eyes, they were blue but they still had this odd grey layer over them.

"Im here." I answered, looking at her while laying on my side and watching her.

"Am I dying?" She asked then, trying to roll on her side but letting out a sound of pain when even moving. She only moved her head in my direction instead.

"No." I answered, stroking her cheek with my fingers.

"I feel like I am." She said, her voice sad and scared. It was the smallest voice id ever heard.

"I know." I whispered, kissing her forehead as soft as possible, not wanting to cause her any pain. She growled softly and then remained quiet for a while before speaking up again.

"Karlie.. everything hurts.." She breathed, a pained look on her face. "What happened? I don't remember what happened since I ran into that road in the forrest in Yadeville."

"You don't remember anything?" I asked, not even that surprised actually. She softly shook her head no.

"You had a fight with a classic werewolf."

"I probably didn't win huh?" She asked, a smile on her face now. I couldn't help but to giggle softly. "No you didn't."

"Who was it?"

"Who?"

"Who did I fight with?" She asked, her eyes still open and looking in my direction.

"A girl I met in the train. Her name is Toni." I said.

"Toni? What did she do with you?" She asked quickly.

"Nothing much why?"

"Karlie.."

"Okay she was flirting with me a lot. But I told her I have a.. girlfriend." I said, blushing.

"Girlfriend huh? Who's the lucky girl?" Taylor grinned.

"I.. uhmm.. I.. whatever. We didn't do anything." I stuttered. "Anyway, she thought I was a wolf cause she saw my eyes and well she said I could stay at hers and I thought she was a normal human so yeah.. something went wrong there. She was a classic and well, I ran away and then you were there. How did you even find me?"

"I bet she wanted a nice night with you huh?" Taylor said then, ignoring my question. "I know her tricks."

"She did the same to you once?" I asked in disbelieve.

"Yeah, I told her she could fuck off though. Thats probably why she was still so angry at me or something, I don't know. Anyways, what the hell is that horrible feeling in my right arm and my side?" Her voice was still filled with pain and cracked a little.

"Selena operated on you."

"She what?! Why?!" She asked loudly.

"Shhh! She is sleeping now."

"Why did she operate me? What the fuck did she do?" She hissed.

"She got a piece of wolf nail out and a whole tooth. You had wolf infection or something and your skin was super hot and your eyes black. It was so scary." I explained to her, rambling.

"My eyes black? What the hell.. Wait. Karlie, are the lights out?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Turn them on." She said in panic. I turned around and turned the light on.

"Turn them on." She repeated.

"Taylor?"

"Yeah?"

"They are on."

"Tay, please try to calm down. Selena said that the effects of the infection can still stay for a while. It will probably be away soon." I said calmly as Taylor was trying to get out of the bed.

"Karlie, I'm fucking blind." She hissed angrily, but then letting out a cry of pain probably caused by one of the wounds.

"For now only. It will go away. Now please lay down, you're hurting yourself." She was still fighting to get up. "Taylor" I said. "That wound on your side is as big as a football. Please lay down." She gave up then and laid back down. I turned the light off again and laid down next to her.

"Being blind is fucking scary." She whispered.

"Im sorry.."

"For what?"

"For going home with Toni and well yeah all that.." I mumbled.

"Its okay." She said, rolling onto her unharmed side with some pained looks on her face and facing me. "How did we even get here?"

"I drove us here."

"No I mean how did Toni not eat us?" She explained.

"I shifted." I said then, still kind of confused about how that happened.

"You did? Thats so cool! You're a strong one then. Wow, shifting a month before your official first shift, thats awesome." She said excitedly, all her worries seemed to be away for those few seconds.

"It was just like our training with the wildenings and stuff, but then for real." I said, kind of proud of myself.

"Good job!" She said excitedly. "Wait.." A huge grin appeared on her face.

"What?"

"When you shifted back to your human form.."

"No Tay, I wasn't naked."

"Ha! Good! Thats probably still going to happen then, once." She exclaimed, way too happy about that.

"Perv."

She giggled but soon, her smile turned into a frown again as she probably had a lot of pain. The pain in my limbs was almost completely gone. I hadn't even thought of it anymore. It was probably temporary.

"How did you find me?" I asked then, my voice serious as I studied her face. She stayed silent for a bit.

"I.. I don't know. I just knew where you were in some kind of way. And I felt that you needed help." She said then. "I guess its a match thing." I smiled at that.

"Thats kinda cute." I said then, grinning widely as I saw that she was blushing. I leaned in and kissed her cheek softly. She let out a soft growl again and smiled.

"Ive missed you." She said softly.

"Ive missed you too." I said, looking into her eyes. I knew she couldn't see me, but I still kept on looking into those mesmerizing, blue eyes.

"Can I ask you something about your family?" I asked.

She frowned. "What about them?"

"Well I wondered where they live and from which pack they are and stuff like that. Im interested."

There was kind of a weird look on her face. "Im tired though. Tomorrow maybe?" She said.

Hmm.. She doesnt wanna tell me..

"Yeah, sure. I understand that." I said, still observing her face from close by. "Thank you for coming to safe me."

"And thank you for saving me, my little half wolf." She smiled.

"Half wolf huh? Is that my nickname now?" I asked, a smile on my face too.

"Well you're not a hundred percent wolf yet. You weren't supposed to have your first shift until at least December." She said. "So now you're my little half wolf." Her smile was wide and she looked beautiful.

"I love you." I blurted out.

Oh my god, Karlie you dumbass..

Taylor's cheeks turned bright red. "I uhmm.. I.. Karlie.. I.." She stuttered.

"Im.. I.. Im sorry.." I mumbled, my face probably just as red as hers.

She leaned forward slightly and brushed her lips against mine. At first I didn't even realize what was going on, but a second later I leaned forward too and our lips moulded together. The kiss was soft and delicate, and yet I felt all those fireworks exploding in all of my body. After a while, she leaned back again and disconnected our lips.

"Im sorry.." She mumbled, her cheeks still bright red. "I.. I had to.. uhmm.. I had to kiss you. I.. wanted to kiss you.." She mumbled.

"Oh I didn't mind." I smiled. And I think she heard it in my voice, because she smiled too.

"Karlie, I will explain everything to you once. But not now. Its safer for you to not know all of that yet." She said seriously then.

"All of what?" I asked, my curiousity taking over.

"I promise that Ill explain everything to you. Please trust me. I know that I've put you through so much shit already and that this must all be so confusing for you."

I nodded but soon realized that she couldn't see me and so I hummed a "yes".

"You have to know that I like you a lot though. And.. I.. I.. think I'm in love with you too." She said, her voice so soft that I almost couldn't hear it. "If thats what humans call it. I.. I think so.."

I smiled widely.

"What do werewolf's call it?" I asked.

"Werewolf's don't have those kind of terms.."

"Huh why not?"

"I don't know really, I guess were not such romantic species." She smiled and I giggled.

"You're cute though." I said, smiling widely.

"Stop flirting with me, Kloss." She said, smiling too.

"What? Cant I flirt with my match?" I joked. She doesn't smile though and stays silent for a while.

"Sometimes I wish you weren't my match.."

Wow.. what? She doesn't want me to be her match?

"Oh god that sounded horrible.." She mumbled quickly then. "I mean uhmm.. oh gosh Swift.. you're so nice and sweet and oh so smooth.."

"Its okay.. I mean I-" I started.

"No Karlie I like you. I.. I love you." She said then, her voice a little more certain again. "Its just.. its not safe that you're my match. Not safe for you. I wish for you to be safe. But with me you're never safe.."

"Huh.. why that? What do you mean?"

"I really cant explain it.. Im sorry.. I really promise that one day Ill explain it all. I just don't want you to be in any more danger than you already are. I want to keep you as safe as I can."

What is the girl talking about?

"O.. okay.." I mumbled.

Taylor smacked her own forehead then and then let out a loud shriek for probably the pain from her wounds. "Its so stupid. I know. I must be so exhausting to be around.." She mumbled. "Im sorry.. please don't leave me though. I don't think I can do without you anymore.."

I took her hand in mine and kissed her cheek, her forehead, her nose and then her lips shortly. A smile apeared on her face then.

"Im not going anywhere. Don't worry so much with that pretty little mind of yours." I said softly. She had closed her eyes now. "Yeah thats right. Sleep blondie." I smiled and so did she. We both stayed silent for a few minutes.

"Ill explain it all. I promise." She mumbled softly and then her breathing became deeper and slower. She had fallen asleep. I kissed the mysterious girl's forehead. The mysterious girl I had fallen so deeply in love with.
