When Mingyu said he knew a place, Miyeon had expected something like a lively bar or a cozy cafe. But where they all stood now was far beyond her expectations.

It was better than she could have imagined.

She stood at the edge of a hill, leaning against the railing, and gazed at the city lights sprawled below. The night breeze whispered against her skin, cool and soothing, sending her hair billowing gently behind her. A smile tugged at her lips, growing wider with every gush of the wind.

"I think someone's enjoying my choice of venue," Mingyu teased, strolling up beside her. His tone was playful, yet smug as he leaned against the railing beside her.

Miyeon turned to him, eyes narrowed matching his playful tone, "The only thing I like about you," she shot back, though her lips still held that smile. The enemity between the two had long been forgotten and the only thing left now was teasing here and there.

Something both of them enjoyed.

She glanced back at the glowing city below, her voice softened by the beauty surrounding them. It looked as though the stars had fallen from the sky and scattered themselves across the streets, every light twinkling like a piece of heaven.

The view was breathtaking, framed by the silhouette of tall trees swaying gently in the breeze. Their cars were parked a few feet away, almost blending in with the quiet of the night.

"At least you like something," Mingyu smirked teasingly, his gaze now fixed on her instead of the city, "And here I was starting to think you'd never find anything about me worth liking."

"Don't get ahead of yourself," Miyeon rolled her eyes, but the smile on her face lingered, making him chuckle softly in response.

Mingyu couldn't help but smile at her response. After the incident at the party, he was determined to lift everyone's spirits. He had been unsure if revisiting this place, so full of shared memories, was a good idea. He feared it might stir up unwanted nostalgia. But when he glanced back and saw the smiles on their faces, he knew it had been the right decision.

What truly amazed him, though, was the way she had stood up for them. It was clear she had done it mostly for Nari, but that didn't diminish the admiration he felt for her. In that moment, it was as if he saw Kim Miyeon in an entirely new light-strong, brave, and deeply loyal.

"Hey, you two!" a voice called out, breaking the moment. They turned to see the rest of their group gathered around a small campfire Jeonghan, Joshua and Seungcheol had lit, sitting on rocks scattered near the tree line. "Get over here already!" Nari called out, waving them over.

Miyeon chuckled and made her way over, Mingyu trailing close behind. She settled between Nari and Joshua, directly across from Jeonghan, who was tossing small twigs into the flames. The warm glow of the fire bathed everyone in soft, flickering light, face illuminated with yellow and orange hue.

"You doing okay now?" Miyeon asked Nari in a low voice, glancing at her with concern. The earlier encounter with Jiyang at the party had clearly shaken her friend and she was worried that the words spoken would have stirred up unwanted emotions in her.

Nari nodded, looking far more at ease now. "Yeah, much better. Thank you, Miya," she replied with a grateful smile.

Miyeon gave her arm a gentle pat. "You don't need to thank me for anything. I'm just glad you're feeling better."

Her gaze then drifted to Jeonghan, his face aglow in the firelight. When their eyes met, it felt as if the world around them fell away for a split second, a silent exchange of emotions that neither dared to speak aloud. Both quickly looked away, not ready to confront the storm brewing between them or better... inside them.

"Let's play something!" Mingyu announced suddenly, breaking the quiet moment as he rose to his feet. His eyes sparkled with mischief, flicking between Miyeon and Jeonghan.

Jeonghan raised an eyebrow, instantly suspicious. 'What's he up to now?' he thought, narrowing his eyes at his younger friend.

"Like what?" Seungcheol asked, leaning back on the rock he was sitting on next to Nari.

Mingyu's smirk widened. "Truth, dare, or shot," he declared, pulling a groan from nearly everyone in the group.

"Seriously? That's so cliché," Joshua muttered beside Miyeon, his tone laced with mild exasperation.

Mingyu shrugged, unfazed. "Unless someone's got a better idea, we're rolling with this." He headed back to his car and returned with seven bottles of beer.

"When did you get those?" Nari asked, eyeing the bottles with surprise.

Mingyu flashed a cheeky grin. "While Miyeon was putting that brat in her place and the rest of you were standing around watching like it was a movie," he said, handing out the bottles. "I was busy grabbing these for just this moment."

"Unbelievable," Miyeon laughed as Mingyu tossed her a wink.

He set an empty bottle in the center of the circle, glancing around at each of them. "Ready?"

They exchanged reluctant glances but eventually nodded. Miyeon couldn't help but chuckle, the idea of some silly game sounding like a fun distraction from the night's heavier moments. Mingyu spun a bottle after emptying it contents in an empty water bottle, its neck whirring in a blur until it finally landed on Seungcheol.

"Damn my luck," Seungcheol groaned, rubbing his temple with mock frustration. "Alright, truth," he muttered in resignation.

Mingyu rubbed his chin theatrically, pretending to ponder for a moment before locking eyes with Seungcheol.

"Alright, Cheol. If you could relive one moment in your life, what would it be?" He grinned, waiting to see how his friend would respond.

Seungcheol leaned back, surprised by the depth of the question. "Wow, going deep right off the bat, huh?" he said, half-joking.

He thought for a moment before speaking, "Honestly? Probably the time we all went on that trip to Bali together last summer. That was one of the best weekends of my life."

The group smiled at the memory, the warmth of that weekend mixing with the warmth of the fire. Laughter and fond recollections passed easily among them, as though they were sharing something sacred, a bond that had been forged long before tonight.

But while the others reminisced, Miyeon found herself shifting in her seat, feeling a little out of place.

It wasn't that she didn't enjoy their company- she did, more than she expected- but in moments like this, surrounded by the shared history they all seemed to have, she was reminded that she was still new to the group.

She hadn't known them for long. Not like the rest of them had known each other for years, through thick and thin, through trips, parties, and countless inside jokes.

Yet, here she sat, by the fire, and they treated her as if she had always been there-like she was one of them. It was a kindness she hadn't expected, and despite the small pang of awkwardness, she was grateful for it.

Even if she felt a bit like an outsider in moments like these, their warmth and easy acceptance of her made it bearable. They had accepted her into their world, and that meant something-more than she could express in words.

Miyeon glanced around at their faces, illuminated by the flickering flames, and couldn't help but smile to herself. Maybe she hadn't been here for all their past memories, but sitting with them now, part of this night, she realized she was beginning to make her own.

As the bottle continued to spin between them, the night carried on with laughter and playful banter. Seungcheol's confession had softened the mood, and the tension Miyeon felt earlier had started to ease.

They all settled into the rhythm of the game, laughter easing the tension as everyone took their turns. Nari had to do an impromptu impression of Taehyung, over-exaggerating his deep voice and signature smolder, making everyone crack up. Mingyu, on the other hand, was tasked with calling his mom and pretending to cry over the revelation that he was adopted.

He went all out, dramatically sobbing into the phone, "Mom, why didn't you tell me sooner?!" His mother's confused voice on the other end only made everyone laugh harder, especially when he started fake-sniffling and asking if he could still stay for dinner. It was safe to say he was in for a long scolding by his mother later.

The bottle spun again, its tip circling through the firelight, and everyone watched, half-expecting it to land on someone predictable. But when it stopped, the neck pointed directly at Jeonghan.

A few groans and chuckles rose from the group, but Mingyu was grinning like a Cheshire cat.

"Well, well, well. Jeonghan, my friend," he said, rubbing his hands together, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Truth or dare?"

Jeonghan leaned back slightly and crossed his arms his face not giving out any emotions he felt. He was clearly considering his options, but with everyone's attention locked on him, there was no escape. Choosing truth was not in his character. He had always loved to do something extraordinary.

"Dare," he said finally, meeting Mingyu's gaze with a smirk of his.

Mingyu's grin grew wider, and the others in the group exchanged knowing looks. Miyeon noticed a shift in the air around her, the tension suddenly palpable. She didn't know what Mingyu was planning, but something in his expression warned her it would be big.

"I dare you to..." Mingyu paused for effect, glancing around before his eyes settled on Miyeon. "Kiss, Miyeon."

The group fell into stunned silence, and Miyeon felt her heart skip a beat. Her gaze snapped to Mingyu first, incredulous, then to Jeonghan, who somewhere in between the game had swapped places with Joshua, his usually calm and playful expressions faltered for a split second. His eyes flickered toward her, and the group collectively seemed to hold its breath.

"Wait, what?" Joshua muttered, his eyes widening in surprise. Nari's jaw dropped slightly, and Seungcheol let out a low whistle, though no one seemed to have heard it over the sudden change in the atmosphere.

Jeonghan, however, didn't immediately react. He simply glanced at Miyeon, searching her face for a sign, some kind of confirmation. Even if his insides felt as if they were ready to combust at any moment, he held his cool.

He was respectful, careful, "Are you okay with this? Say it if you're not and none of us would mind." he asked her softly, the question meant only for her ears.

Miyeon could feel the weight of everyone's eyes on her, the fire crackling as the only sound breaking the silence. For a moment, all the thoughts racing through her mind collided - her complicated feelings, the unspoken tension between them, the fact that everyone was watching. But then she exhaled slowly, meeting Jeonghan's gaze.

"Yeah," she whispered, barely audible, but she nodded slightly to reassure him with a shrug. "It's just a dare."

It was just a dare afterall. She did not need to think too much of it. Not even if her insides felt like butterflies were dancing all inside. Not even when her cheeks turned slightly red. Not even when her eyes met his.

Jeonghan's expression softened at that. He moved closer, taking careful steps as if giving her time to change her mind. Once they were only inches apart, the world around them seemed to blur and fade away, the only thing that existed in that moment was the space between them.

Gently, almost cautiously, Jeonghan leaned in, his hand brushing against Miyeon's cheek for a brief second and then sliding over to the back of her neck and then he slowly leaned in and both could feel eachothers breath while others kept silent.

And then he leaned fully in.

It wasn't a long kiss-just a brief, soft touch of lips that sent a quiet thrill through her, sparking something deep inside. His lips were warm, gentle, as if savoring the moment rather than rushing through it. The kiss was delicate, unhurried, yet in that fleeting instant, it felt like the world around them had slowed to a standstill.

To him, she tasted faintly of wine and sweetness, as if the lingering flavors of the night mixed with something more-something undeniably her. Her scent wrapped around him like a quiet spell, the soft floral hint of roses mingling with the cool night air.

To her, he tasted like a strong, heady glass of beer, rich and earthy, and his scent was intoxicating, like the fresh, grounding smell of the earth after a long rain- a scent that was both familiar and utterly arresting.

Then, just as quickly as it began, Jeonghan pulled back, his lips leaving hers as gently as they had arrived. His eyes stayed on her, lingering for a heartbeat longer, their gaze locked as if both were trying to understand the unspoken tension now hanging thick in the air.

The brief contact may have ended, but the electricity between them lingered, charged with something they weren't ready to fully confront.

As he returned to his seat, the atmosphere seemed to shift. The others, though still talking and laughing, felt distant to Miyeon. The air around her crackled with a quiet intensity, and she knew Jeonghan felt it too.

Neither of them spoke, but the silence between them was heavy with a new weight-one that neither was quite ready to acknowledge, though they both knew it was there, simmering just beneath the surface.

"Well, damn," Seungcheol muttered, shaking his head with a smirk.

Nari blinked, seemingly frozen, while Joshua just rubbed his forehead, muttering, "Of all the dares...", but his face held a teasing smirk.

Mingyu grinned triumphantly, but there was a knowing look in his eyes as he looked between Miyeon and Jeonghan. "Looks like I'm pretty good at this game, huh?"

Miyeon couldn't help but laugh softly, though her cheeks were still flushed. She could feel Jeonghan's presence beside her even though he wasn't looking her way anymore. She didn't dare glance at him, not yet, unsure of what might happen if she did.

"Well, let's continue then," Mingyu's voice broke the silence, his tone light and amused as he spun the bottle. The glass seemed to take forever to stop, its lazy spin heightening the anticipation. When it finally came to a halt, Miyeon's eyes widened, her heart skipping a beat.

"Uh... Truth," she said after a long pause, clearly weighing her options. Her gaze briefly met Seungcheol's, who was now responsible for asking the question.

Seungcheol leaned back, thinking for a moment before looking back at her. "Have you ever fallen in love? And if so, where is that person now?"

The room seemed to still as all eyes turned toward Miyeon. She froze, lips slightly parted, a flicker of pain crossing her eyes. Seungcheol immediately regretted his choice, feeling like he had unknowingly touched a nerve. Just as he was about to apologize, Miyeon spoke up first.

"Yes," she whispered, her voice barely audible as Nari reached out to gently touch her arm. Miyeon turned to her with a strained expression, while Nari's face was full of concern.

"You don't have to say anything, Miya. It's just a game. No one here is going to care if-"

"It's okay, Nari," Miyeon said softly, her voice meant only for her friend's ears. But the boys exchanged confused glances, unsure of what was happening. Seungcheol's guilt deepened, while Jeonghan studied Miyeon with curiosity, wondering what story lay behind her words.

Miyeon took a deep breath and straightened up, her voice louder this time. "Yes, I've been in love." She paused, swallowing hard as she fought to maintain her composure. "And... he's not here anymore."

Her answer was vague, but it was all she could manage. Without giving anyone a chance to press further, she grabbed the bottle of beer beside her and took a long, deliberate sip. The conversation hit a wall, the tension thick in the air.

Yet despite her attempt to end the discussion, their eyes naturally shifted toward Nari, whose concerned gaze remained locked on Miyeon.

She knew more than she was letting on, and it didn't escape anyone's notice. The unspoken questions lingered, but for now, they let them hang in the air, respecting the unspoken boundary Miyeon had set.

As the game continued, the night felt different. The kiss had been brief, simple, but it had stirred something between them, something that couldn't be easily ignored. And though no one said anything further, Miyeon could sense that the night had just taken a turn - one that would leave ripples long after the game was over.

So... how are we? :)

This chapter will play a major role in developing her relationship with everyone present there in the long run and what more special day could I find to publish it than my birthday AND Gose day lol!

At first I was contemplating whether I want there first kiss to be in a way where both did not in a way initiate it first, but then again... I wanted to showcase a point where soft realizations hit both of them and I hope I was able to do it.

Also we're at a point where secrets are growing along with the chance of them unfolding soon.

Don't be a silent reader. Your words and votes mean a lot to me<3
