I ended up going over to Bella's for the night. Apparently Charlie was working a night shift at the station and she needed company. Not that I was complaining, I really needed some girl time. I looked through the multiple takeout menus Charlie kept in a drawer, so we could figure out what to do for dinner tonight.

"Ooh, how about Chinese?" I held up the menu toward Bella. She nodded, finally agreeing on one. I plopped down on the couch beside her, throwing my legs into her lap as I looked through the menu. "What do you want?" I asked.

Bella quickly gave me her order and after debating for a moment, I picked what I wanted. I quickly picked up the phone, ordering more than enough food for the two of us. "They said 45 minutes, what should we do till then?"

"We could go to the movie store?" She suggested with a shrug.

I nodded, "ooh, yeah. I've been wanting to see this new movie anyways, it's supposed to be really scary." I jumped up from the couch, pulling on my sneakers while Bella grabbed her jacket and keys.

We were both wearing very comfy attire. I was in leggings, a crew neck, and some fuzzy white socks. Bella was wearing leggings, a zip up hoodie, with converse. We looked cute with our matching messy buns too.

"You know I don't do scary movies, Liv," Bella complained as we made our way into the truck. I sighed, "fine, how about a action movie? Or I could be persuaded to watch a good rom-com."

Bella just laughed, shaking her head, "let's just see what they have, okay?"

I nodded, pretending to zip my lips closed as we entered the main road. "So, are you going to tell me about this guy you were staying with last night?" She pressed, giving me a look.

My cheeks tinted red and I instantly felt embarrassed. It wasn't like Paul was anything more than a friend, so I felt slightly ashamed for admitting to hooking up with a guy just for sex. A lot of people would judge me for it. I didn't want Bella to be one of those people.

"There's not much to tell," I shrugged, looking out the window.

Bella scoffed slightly, "that bruise on your neck tells a different story, Liv."

My hand immediately went to cover the mark, rubbing it for a moment before sighing and turning to her. "There's not. I used to have the biggest crush on Paul, he's been one of my best friends since I was little, so my feelings were pretty big.

"Anyways, we went to this beach party over the summer and ended up hooking up. I thought it meant that we'd be something more, but Paul didn't want that. After I got over my hurt feelings, and my feelings in general, we just sorta started hooking up more often. We really are just friends who occasionally have sex."

I could see Bella's frown, like she didn't approve of what I was doing, god she is going to judge me isn't she? "Are you sure you're okay with that?" She asked, glancing at me then back at the road, "I mean what if you get pregnant or an STD or something?"

"Well we're very careful, so a baby isn't really a possibility-- less than 0.1% chance of that. As for the STD's, he's been tested and he's not having sex with anyone else, so no worries there," I shrugged, looking to the road as we pulled into the movie store. "Look, I know it's not like all rainbows and butterflies, and it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but it works for me. I won't be ashamed about that."

Bella nodded, sighed, and then nodded again, "okay. As long as you're happy and safe."

That was the last of that conversation as we both got out of the truck and walked into the movie store. I immediately went over to the new release section, leaving Bella behind, not caring to notice who was in the store with us.

I could faintly hear Bella talking to someone but I was too busy looking at the back of the new Scary Movie movie to pay any mind. I wonder if this would be too scary for Bella, I thought, knowing that the last Scary Movies were basically comedies.

"Scary Movie 4?" I jumped at the sound of his voice, my skin instantly rising with goosebumps in response to that damn voice.

I turned around to meet gold eyes, raising my brow, "who's following who now?" I asked, referring to our last conversation.

Emmett just laughed, the sound as enchanting as the last time. I took the chance to look him up and down as discreetly as I could manage. He was wearing a jacket this time, but still it hugged his arms and chest tightly. And god, I swear every time I look at his arms I just so badly want to touch them, its a problem really.

"I was here first so, still you," he pointed out and I rolled my eyes. I went to respond with a snarky comment but, Bella interrupted, walking over with Edward.

I glanced at the boy who my best friend was semi obsessed with. I mean sure he was hot but, he kinda gave off a creepy vibe with the way he looked at Bella, like he wanted to eat her or something. My mind immediately went back to the legends of the Cullen's and I wanted to laugh, maybe there was something to the stories. Maybe Edward wanted to drink Bella's blood. I nearly snorted at the absurd thought.

"Hey, Liv, this is Edward and his brother--"

"Emmett, yeah... we've met." Bella rose a brow at me in question, probably wondering why I never mentioned it before.

"Okay, well, I kinda invited them to come over and watch a movie with us?" My eyes widened and I immediately felt upset. Did she for real invite them over, without even checking with me. It was supposed to be girls night and now she's inviting over the boy I'm trying desperately to stop thinking about?

But it wasn't that serious. It was her house after all and I had to be a good wing woman, I suppose. So, I forced a smile, nodding my head, "sure, why not? The more the merrier." God Billy would kill me if he saw me now.

We were only home for a half an hour before Bella and Edward went upstairs to her room to "talk," leaving Emmett and I downstairs on the couch watching a shitty comedy that Bella swore was really good-- it wasn't. It also didn't help that the house felt like 100 degrees since Bella insisted that it was too cold.

I groaned in annoyance, turning the TV off and then proceeding to take off my crew neck, leaving me in a pink cropped tank top. I tossed the sweater in the general direction of my bag and then moved to lay on the couch, keeping my knees bent so I didn't touch Emmett who was sitting there, staring at me.

"That movie was shit," I stated, running a hand through my tangled hair.

Emmett nodded in agreement, "yeah, that'll be the last time I let Bella pick the movie."

I laughed in agreement, tilting my head back slightly before meeting his golden eyes again. He was smirking at me, his eyes soft in a sort of way that made me nervous and shy.

While clearing my throat, I got up from the couch, making my way into the kitchen. Emmett glanced over the back of the couch, watching as I began to open up cupboards. "Well, since the two lovebirds left us alone," I trailed off, letting out an 'a-ha' as I found what I was looking for. I held up the bottle, smirking and raising my eyebrows at the Cullen, "how about we have some fun?"

I knew Charlie wouldn't notice the missing bottle, as a layer of dust covered it. He was more of a beer guy anyways, never really touched hard liquor. Emmett shook his head and laughed as I grabbed two glasses and made my way over with the whiskey. Definitely not my first choice, but it would do in a pinch.

As I plopped down on the couch beside Emmett, he gave me an unsure look, glancing at the bottle then back at me. I let out a laugh, "what, are you scared Cullen?" I wasn't one to pressure people into drinking, so if he said no, I'd respect that, but it doesn't mean I'm not gonna tease the guy first.

Emmett let out a loud laugh that made my stomach knot involuntarily. "No, just aren't you like sixteen?"

I couldn't help but scoff, popping the bottle open and pouring it, "are you my mom?" He held up his hands, shaking his head. "Anyways, you're not much older than me either. What, eighteen?" He nodded and I held out a glass to him, he took it, his fingers brushing mine.

Shaking off the feeling of goosebumps on my skin, I held up my glass, "to... third wheeling?" I suggested, referring to my friend and his brother who were most definitely hooking up upstairs right now.

Emmett laughed, "to third wheeling." He agreed, hitting my glass with his. I took that opportunity to down the shot quickly, screwing up my face as the alcohol burned down my throat. I shook it off quickly, blowing out some air before moving to pour another shot.

Three more shots later, I was feeling a comfortable buzz, leaned against the couch lazily. Emmett and I were hardly talking, but I didn't mind too much. I mean sure, part of me hoped the drinks would spark some conversation between us, but I wasn't about to be all butt hurt that it didn't.

"What's that," Emmett asked, his eyes dark as he motioned to my chest. I looked down at the spot where my shirt had shifted down. I laughed slightly as I noticed the hickey, before pulling my shirt back up to cover it.

I turned to glance at Emmett, his jaw was set hard, his eyes dark and he looked... angry? Why? I shrugged it off, deciding it wasn't my problem. "It's uh, it's nothing...."

"Do you have a boyfriend or something?" He asked, trying to sound casual as he leaned back against the couch.

I rose a brow at him, leaning forward slightly as I looked at him, "no. Just a-- just a friend."

Emmett reached forward, brushing my hair off my neck, his fingers grazing over what I knew was another hickey. His eyes darkened even more and I found myself intrigued and slightly turned on by the look in his eyes. "Did your friend give you this too?"

I nodded, biting my lip and watching his eyes follow the movement. I let go and smiled lazily at him. "You gotta problem with that, Cullen?"

Emmett dropped his hand and I had to stop myself from pouting with the loss of contact, "no. Why would I?"

I shrugged in response, not having a good reason why he'd care. We just met two weeks ago, it wasn't like he owed me anything. I got on my knees turning to him, "wanna play twenty questions?"

"What's that?" He asked, looking confused.

"You've never played-- okay, so basically," I began to explain, "we take turns asking questions and the other person either has to answer truthfully or drink."

Emmett wet his lips before nodding and I smiled excitedly, grabbing our glasses to fill up and handing one to him. "You first," he said, taking his glass in one hand and throwing the other over the back of the couch, his hand close enough to touch me. I tried not to let it affect me.

"Okay, um... where are you from?"

"Gatlinburg, Tennessee." He thought for a moment before asking, "how bout you?"

I shook a finger at him, "nu-uh, you have to ask original questions, Cullen. Rules of the game."

Emmett smiled before nodding, "okay, where do you live?"

"LaPush," he tensed for a second and I almost didn't notice the way his eyes widened slightly. Huh. "Is it true you're adopted?"

He nodded, "yeah, Carlisle and Esme took me in a long time ago."

His voice trailed off in thought and I smiled, "I'm adopted too. Billy took me in after my mom and his wife died." I don't know why I shared that tidbit but, I did and I didn't feel an ounce of regret.

"I'm sorry," Emmett said, his eyes holding sympathy. I shook it off and he swallowed before asking, "what year are you in?"

I smiled, "none. I graduated last term. Do you have a girlfriend?"

My heartbeat picked up as I let the question slip, not knowing why I wanted to know. "No," I'm not sure why I felt relieved at that response. "What's your favorite color?"

I snorted, instantly taking a shot of my drink. Emmett smiles at me, laughing as I refill my glass. "What? That was an easy question!" He defends.

"Exactly, it was too easy. And lame. This game is supposed to be fun and a little dirty," I held up my pointer and thumb, pinching them together to support what I was saying.

Emmett smirked at that, "dirty how?"

"Like... When's the last time you had sex?" I rose a brow, my cheeks blushing at the forwardness of my question. Oh god I had no filter.

I watched as he shook his head, laughing slightly before tipping back his glass and downing the shot. It was my turn to smirk, "oh, so it's been awhile, has it?"

As he refilled his glass and mine he only smiled, "I took a shot, doesn't that mean I decline to answer?"

I only laugh harder, my hand reaching out to hit him on the arm, "a real long while, then."

"Okay, funny girl, since you want to play the game like that," Emmett smirked, putting his arm on the back of the couch. My laughter faded to a nervous smile as I felt his finger tips brush against my bare shoulder. "Strangest place you've had sex?"

I blushed immediately, knowing damn well my answer was boring. "The bed?" Emmett's eyes widened slightly but I could see the smirk on his lips, like he was satisfied by my answer. "What about you, big guy?"

Emmett laughed, shaking his head, "nope, no repeats. Your rules, remember?"

I rolled my eyes, sighing before trying to come up with a different question. I shifted so I was sitting slightly closer to him, facing him fully, and I smirked slightly, "do you consider yourself a good kisser?" I felt my heart beat increase at the question.

Emmett's smile widened and he leaned toward me slightly, close enough that I could smell pine and leather coming off of him. "Well, I think it's impossible for me to judge that for myself, I would need an outsider's opinion, don't you think?"

My eyes worked on their own, flicking down to his lips, I took a shaky breath, "y-yeah, I think that makes sense."

I found his eyes again, and I could feel my heart beating a thousand times a minute. What is happening? Emmett reached up, his cool hand brushing my hair behind my ear. A shiver ran up my spine and I'm not sure if I was imagining it or not, but I swear we were leaning in.

Oh god, is this really going to happen? My heart beat increased and my eyes began to fall clo--

A creak sounded from the stairs, making me jump back from Emmett, his hand falling from my neck to the couch between us. My heart was beating erratically in my chest as I looked toward the stairs to find Bella and Edward standing there.

Edward had a smirk on his face as he looked at his brother and Bella was staring at me with raised brows and a questioning look in her eyes.

Oh god, I really didn't want to have to explain what maybe almost happened there with Emmett.

So, instead I held up the bottle of whiskey and smiled nervously, "drinks, anyone?"
