episode one ~ valentine's day

"Have you heard about Virginia?" Ludo asked from beside her best friend, both of them leaning against the railing of the school's balcony.

Gia exhaled the smoke from her lugs, cigarette in her hand, and hummed, "I think everyone knows by now," she rolled her eyes. "Virginia is not very secretive about it."

"How are you feeling?" Ludo asked, watching Gia with concern, lighting her own cigarette.

Gianna shrugged, "I don't care," she lied. "I hope they grow one big happy family," she bitterly said.

Ludo let out a chuckle, but caressed Gia's back in comfort.

"Did you check out the apartment with Chiara?" Gia changed the subject, looking at her friend.

Ludo nodded, "yeah. It's pretty nice."

"Great. What about Fiore?"

Ludo took a deep breath, "we went out last night," she admitted.

Gia gave her a look, "just be careful, I don't trust him."

Few seconds of silence has gone by. "How was your date?" Ludovica asked, breaking the silence.

Gianna let out a chuckle, remembering her date few night ago.

Gianna and Giovani stumbled into his apartment, both smelling like alcohol.

They've made their way towards his bedroom, where Giovani shoved her onto his bed.

Leaning down, he bit her lip, before making his way down towards her neck, then collarbones.

He reached into the drawer beside his bed, opening it up . He pulled out red fuzzy hand cuffs, while Gia watched with her eyebrows furrowed.

"You don't plan on using that, do you?" She asked, with a grimace.

"Of course I do," he chuckled. He didn't even let her think it through before he firmly grabbed her wrists and tied them to his bedpost.

"Wait," Gia struggled against the handcuffs, looking at them with panic in her eyes. "I don't like that."

"You're going to like it, trust me. They always do," he said with a grin, leaning down to plaster kisses over her body again.

"Dude!" She yelled out and shoved him away from her with her legs.

Before she could even say another word, a loud smack rang through the bedroom.

"I can feel you like it, don't play with me," he said, anger evident on his face and tone. "I know you're even wetter now, after that slap," he laughed, putting his body weight on her body.

Gianna swallowed harshly, not saying a word. She blinked away the tears that formed in her eyes, whether from the slap or fear, she didn't know.

Not protesting anymore, she let him unzip her dress and pull them up to her waist. She even helped him, by raising her lower body.

She didn't protest when he unzipped his pants and took them off, nor when he took off his underwear. Not even when he pulled her thong to the side, or when he slipped inside of her without protection.

"It was nice," she said, not telling her the whole story.

Not mentioning how she had to slip out of his apartment in the middle of the night unnoticed. Not mentioning how she went straight to the nearest drug store, to buy the plan B pill and pregnancy test, just in case. Not mentioning how she ran the next day to get tested for any type of STDs.

Luckily, the results already came in. Both negative.

She blocked his number, of course, after all of that.

———

Ludo and Gia separated their ways and Gia walked by herself down the hall, noticing Niccolo, who stood by his group of friends.

She quickly averted her gaze when his eyes fell onto her, which was probably a mistake, because now she was looking at Virginia, standing few feet away from Nicco with Camilla and her other friends, laughing, looking and touching her belly.

Gritting her teeth together, she disappeared into the girl's bathroom into one of the toilet cubicles.

Sighing, she sat down onto the closed toilet and closed her eyes, convincing herself to be strong for once and not cry, like she's been doing a lot lately.

Taking a deep breath, she opened her eyes again, ready to leave and go to her class, but the writing she saw in front of her on the door made her freeze.

'X E. DO NOT CONTACT SOFIA'

Furrowing her eyebrows, she stared at the note for a while.

It could be coincidence, sure. This person could mean anyone else who's name started with E and some other Sofia than the one Chiara told her about.

But just to be sure, she left the bathrooms and called Chiara.

"Where are you?" Gia hurriedly asked, speed walking down the hall, trying to look for her friend.

"I'm by the entrance, why?" Chiara asked.

"I have to show you something, meet me by the bathrooms," she told her.

Chiara noticed the urgency in her tone, "I'm on my way."

Leaning against the wall next to the girls' bathroom, she bounced her leg up and down, nervously looking around.

Her gaze fell onto Virginia, who was making her way by the bathrooms, with her friends.

The girls made eye contact and Virginia stopped in her tracks.

"How are you feeling?" Virginia asked with concern in her voice.

"Huh?" Gia asked, confused. She had no idea why Virginia would be concerned for her feelings.

"How are you feeling, with the news about me and Nicco?" She asked and tilted her head, her brows furrowed together to appear sympathetic.

"Ecstatic," Gia answered sarcastically. "Congratulations, forgot to say earlier," she gave her a fake smile.

Virginia's fake smile and concern dropped from her face and her true colors showed.

Probably pissed she didn't get the reaction she wanted. Sadness. Anger. Embarrassment. Anything negative.

But Gianna wouldn't let her see any of her true emotions.

"Well thank you. Maybe if you start to behave and stop hanging out with whores, you could be my babies Godmother," she gave her a smile and put her hand on Gia's shoulder.

Gianna looked at her hand with disgust. Taking Virginia's hand, she pulled her off of her shoulder.

"Did we ever hangout?" She asked, making Virginia look at her with confusion. "You know, since I hangout with whores, apparently and the only whore I know of, is you."

"You bitch!" Virginia angrily yelled, before marching away from Gia, who stood there with a proud smile.

She watched as Virginia made her way towards Nicco, who stood little further away from them, already looking at where Gianna stood.

They locked eyes and their gazes stayed connected even as Virginia started complaining to his about Gia, her fingers pointed at her.

Gianna rolled her eyes and pulled her gaze from him.

Finally Chiara appeared in front of her, "what did you want to show me?"

Gianna barely waited until the blonde finished her sentence, and pulled her into the bathroom and into the cubicle she was in few minutes ago, closing the door behind them.

Gia gestured to the now closed door, Chiara turned around and looked at it, not saying anything, just blankly stared at it.

"It's not a coincidence, is it?" Gia said, looking at Chiara with her eyebrows slightly pushed together, playing with the strands of her hair, nervously.

Chiara turned around, her face pale, fear written across it. "I don't know," she shrugged. "We shouldn't stress about it, though ," she said and opened the door.

"Chiara, this could be serious," she looked at her with wide eyes.

"I know, Gia, we just don't know if it's actually meant for me," she lowered her voice while saying the last word. "Don't stress about it, okay,"

"I don't know how you want me to do that, but fine. But just in case, don't contact her for a while, okay? I'm worried."

"I won't."
