Chapter 13

~Ashley's POV~

     I can't believe she's gone. The phone call I got in the kitchen kept on running through my head over and over again...

*Flashback*

     I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. When I was getting a glass, I got a phone call on my mobile. "Hello?" I answered hesitatingly  for it was an unknown number. "Hello, my name is Dr. Lakewell. Is this Ashley, daughter of Rebbecca Fernswell?" said a deep male voice. My blood went cold when he said that he was a doctor. "Yes, this is she." I say as I fill my glass up with water and start sipping it. "I'm very sorry to tell you this, but your mother was in a terrible car accident last night." I interrupted him, "WHAT?! How? Where? Is she okay?!" I hear him sigh, "She passed away in the middle of emergency surgery last night. It was her car and a truck in the accident on Alcoa Highway." I choke on my water, "She-she's gone?" "Yes, she is. Your brother already planned her funeral. I believe it was today. I'm sorry for not contacting you earlier, but we couldn't find your number." I put my glass in the sink, gripping the edge afterwards, "It's fine. Th-thank you for telling me." "I'm sorry for your lose. I hope you have a good day." Dr. Lakewell tells me before hanging up. I could tell that I was going to burst into tears. I can't believe it. I walk over to Louis after I make myself a little more presentable.

*End of Flashback*

     Louis and I were walking back to the car with Nando's in our hands. I could tell that he was still worried about me. He really is too. I can't believe I lost my mother, bawled my eyes out in front of him, and had him comfort me. Wow so much happened on what was suppose to be a lazy day. I sigh as Louis opened the door for me, "Thank you." He looks at me as I place the food we were carrying behind the driver's seat. "Ashley are you sure you okay?" he asked me looking concerned. "Louis, I just lost my mother. I now only have my brother left basically, so of course I'm not going to be okay. It's going to take some time." I say looking at my hands. Louis leans in the door and hugs me, "Hey, everything will turn out alright, and I'll be with you every step of the way." Louis smiled at me. I hesitatingly smiled back, Louis kisses my cheek before closing my door and walking around to the other side. He got in and started the car before driving away. I lean my head against the window, and slowly fell into a deep sleep.
