π«Chapter 2 (rewritten)
18:12, 8 February 2020Dipper's eyes slowly flickered open. He stayed were he was for a moment, slowly letting everything sink in. Dipper could hear nothing, everything being peacefully quiet. He slowly sat up, being extremely confused to find that he wasn't in the Mystery Shack. He was in a completely white void-like space. He gazed around quickly in panic. A sudden sharp pain at Dipper's neck cause shin to help in pain, as his eyes slowly landing on a familiar yellow demon.
"Bill..?"
"Finally!" Bill exclaimed, floating over Dipper. "It was taking you too long to wake up."
"What the fuck happened and where the fuck am I?!" Dipper shouted, terrified. He grabbed Bill and shook him slightly. "Tell me, damn it!"
"Calm down." Bill disappeared from Dipper's hands and appeared next to him.
Dipper shook his head. "No fucking way. I'm literally sitting in the fucking goddamn void!"
"Shut your face hole for a second!" Bill slapped Dipper. "You're overreacting."
A small yelp escaped Dipper's lips. "How am I overreacting?!" Dipper held his cheek and stood up, gesturing to his surroundings. "We are literally in the void!"
"Shut your face hole for a moment," Bill hissed, placing his hands on Dipper's face. "and let me talk."
Dipper's eyes widened slightly but he stated quiet, his teeth gritted. He placed a hand on his neck, a sharp pain throbbing through his neck.
"Good." Bill moves his hands away. "Now, to explain all of this."
"You better."
Bill narrowed his eye.
"I'm sorry, continue."
Bill floated around Dipper before continuing to speak. "Because of that deal we made earlier, whenever you fall unconscious, as long as I'm in the mindscape, you will be transported here as well."
"Why is the hell is that the case?" Dipper tilted his head in confusion.
Bill gazed at Dipper. "You'll find out when the time is right. Right now it isn't needed."
Dipper rolled his eyes. "You are hopeless, Cipher."
"I try my best." Bill grinned slightly, despite not having a mouth.
Dipper looked around and walked forward. "So where exactly are we?"
Bill followed closely behind Dipper. "As I said, the mindscape. It's a place where anything I want to exist can exist."
"So, you wanted me here..?" The brunette looked over at Bill.
"Not exactly." Bill grumbled and held his hands behind his back. "You just kinda appeared."
"So... you can make anything appear?" Dipper questioned.
Bill nodded. "Anything."
"Then why didn't you do that with the Journals?" Dipper questioned again, a small laugh escaping his mouth. "You could have taken over the world so easily."
Bill rolled his eye. "Most things I can make appear, at least. Trust me, I tired. A lot."
"What about me being here then? Can I leave?"
"Not until you wake up."
"That's dumb."
"You're telling me. I have to put up with you until then."
"So I'm stuck here?" Dipper furrowed his eyebrows.
"You're not exactly stuck here." Bill chuckled and floated ahead. "If I were you, I'd enjoy the peace while you can. I've got a feelings things aren't going to be as calm in your reality when you wake up."
"Enjoy the peace?" Dipper folded his arms. "There is literally nothing here."
Bill rolled his eye and snapped his fingers, a small cabin appearing. "Now there's something."
Dipper seemed very confused but slowly walked towards the building. He opened the door to see a large room filled with books, cushions and drinks. Dipper's eyes widened. He slowly walked into the room, Bill following.
"I know you like to ready so I figured this would be ideal." Bill spoke.
"It's... very cozy looking. And very unlike you." Dipper turned his gazed back to Bill. "What are you exactly planning?"
Bill shrugged and floated towards one of the cushions on the ground, placing himself onto it.
Dipper narrowed his eyes but followed, sitting next to Bill. He then grabbed a book, his eyes widening. "Is this...?"
"A copy of that scrapbook Shooting Star made years ago? Yeah."
Dipper opened the book and skimmed through the pages, a small smile on his face. "She lost this book years ago.. how did you manage to get it?"
"A demon never reveals his secrets." Bill grinned.
Dipper chuckled slightly as he flicked through the pages. "I haven't seen this since we were sixteen.. Mabel accidentally threw it out when she threw out her book full of all her partners."
Bill nodded slightly. "Partners? Don't you mean boyfriends?"
"No, I mean partners. Mabel's pansexual."
"Pansexual?" Bill tilted his head. "She likes... kitchen supplies?"
Dipper sighed and shook his head. "It's when you're attracted towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity."
Bill nodded slowly. "So she likes boys and girls?"
Dipper nodded. "And non-binary. She focuses more on what her heart says I guess than their gender. You know how Mabel is. Impulsive, but she'll do what her heart wants."
"Hmm.. I see." Bill floated over Dipper's shoulder.
Dipper gazed over and slightly pushed him away. "Personal space please. It's difficult when you're so small and I'm scared I'll hit you."
Bill nodded and grinned slightly. "I'll just change form then!"
Dipper tilted his head. "Change form? You can do that?"
Bill nodded quickly and snapped his fingers, glowing brightly. Dipper flinched and covered his eyes slightly. The bright light faded quickly, and the triangle was nowhere to be seen.
In his place next to Dipper was a well built, dark skinned male with messy blonde hair, the black roots and undercut showing. He had blue freckles scattered on his face, his bright blue eyes whinging brightly into Dipper's soul. Under his messy golden locks were two large black horns with blue markings covering them, as well as pointed ears which were covered in piercings. He had a large golden plate covering his neck and chest, as well as a bow tie attached to it. Under the plate, was a long yellow cape with blue fabric on the inside, blue harmless flames bursting from the end of the cape. He has another golden plate on his waist and hips, as well as a golden wrist plate on each arm. Under the wrist plates where tattoos written in cipher language. His heels has flames at the soles of them, glistening softly. The male's fangs shone brightly as he smiled.
A light shade of red spread across Dipper's cheeks quickly as he stared at the make in front of him."B-Bill?!"
Bill nodded quickly and smiled more. "What do you think?" He held his hands in fists with excitement. "Is it 'hip with the kids' or what?!"
Dipper laughed slightly, his blush fading quickly. "It's... unique. I like it. It's very.. god-like, you could say.."
The blonde nodded his head, his hair bouncing softly. "I need to show off how powerful I am, do I not?"
Dipper chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Did your triangle form bore you or something?"
Bill huffed and folded his arms, the golden plates clanking. He huffed and looked away. "I wanted to look more presentable, thank you very much."
Dipper chuckled more and shook his head. "Was a flying dorito not presentable enough? Who would have thought?"
"What's a dorito?"
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
A couple of hours had passed since Dipper and Bill had entered the cabin. They were still interacting peacefully via talking.
"So you're telling me that it took you over four years to think of this form?" Dipper laughed quietly, covering his mouth with his hand.
Bill nodded and later down on the cushion. "I wanted it to be perfect for the next time we met. Sixer, too. Thought I could take him by surprise."
Dipper shook his head and laid next to Bill. "He's smarter than that, you know."
Bill chuckled and nodded slowly. "Unfortunately for me. Must be where you got it from."
Dipper smiled slightly. "Yeah, probably.." his smile faded. "It's been difficult though.. he's been really sick recently.."
Bill rolled over so he was facing Dipper. "Sick?"
Dipper looked over to Bill. "He's getting old, Bill. Both him and Grunkle Stan."
Bill placed a hand on Dipper's shoulder in support awkwardly. "I'm.. sorry to hear that."
Dipper gently pushed his hand away. "It's fine, nothing can be done about it."
"I'm sure I could find something." Bill stood up and began to search through the books. "There's got to be something to help them."
Dipper sat up slowly. "Bill..."
"If I could just find the right book we can use some of the things from Sixer's lab and my magic. We could cure them!"
Dipper stood up. "Bill.."
Bill began to throw books down from the shelves as he searched. "We could reverse time's effects on them itself and prevent them from ever ageing!"
"Bill!" Dipper raises his voice slightly, tearing up.
Bill turned around and gazed at Dipper, his blue eyes widening as he saw the brunette cry.
"There isn't anything we can do.. it's human nature to die eventually.." Dipper's voice trembled. He brought his red flannel's sleeve to his eyes and gently wiped the tears away.
The demon walked over to Dipper slowly. "I'm.. sorry."
Dipper quickly moved close to Bill, burying his face into Bill's chest. Bill's eyes widened slightly but he stayed where he was, gently wrapping his cape and arms around Dipper. Dipper began to quietly sob.
"I'm not ready to let them go..."
Bill rested his head on Dipper's hat softly, letting out a small sigh. "I know..."
Dipper gripped onto Bill's shirt. "It's not fair..."
Bill gently rubbed Dipper's back to comfort, staying silent. Dipper slowly looked up, causing Bill to move his face away slightly.
"T-Thank you..."
"It's alright.. but why are you doing this..?"
Dipper wiped his tears away and moved out of the embrace. "Doing what?"
"Putting up with me." Bill held his hand out to the side slightly. "You could have easily just ignored me and gone on your way until you wake up."
Dipper chuckled slightly. "What's wrong with me being here? Do you want me to go?"
"No!" Bill held onto Dipper's hand suddenly. "Please don't...I... I don't like being alone.."
Dipper gazed into Bill's eyes as he spoke. He could sense the sincerity in Bill's voice and expression. Otherwise he wouldn't be getting so physical. The sharp pain from befor ebegan to pulse in his neck again, but he tried his best to ignore it. "R-Relax, I'm not going anywhere just yet."
"Do you promise..?"
"I promise."
"And you're not just putting up with me?"
"Nope."
"Does this mean you like me?" Bill tilted his head, letting go of Dipper's hand.
Dipper sat down on the cushions and patted the spot next to him. "I suppose you aren't as bad as I thought now that I've actually talked to you."
Bill smiled slightly and sat next to Dipper.
Dipper ruffled Bill's hair. "You're still a pain in the ass though, you flying dorito."
Bill rolled his eyes and grabbing Dipper's wrist gently in retaliation. "I'm not a good thank you very much. I'm an intellectual and intelligent dream demon! I could easily steal your soul if I wanted to!"
Dipper laughed slightly and layer back down. "Heh.. I guess you could, demon.. I guess you could.."
