" 'It was a mistake,' you said. But the cruel thing was, it felt like the mistake was mine, for trusting you."

~ David Levithan

I lay Wendy down on a soft, makeshift cot. I kneel down next to her, bringing the covers up to her shoulders. I have to force myself to act like I'm fond of the blonde in front of me as she acts like an innocent bedridden girl. I suppress a scoff. The girl is far from innocent.

She broke countless of my rules and still had the nerve to demand that I keep her brothers safe. She even attempted to coax Felix into get him to help her leave the island. She was foolish enough to think that I was in love with her at one point and tried to seduce me in order to get back to her brothers. I am repelled by her very existence.

She thinks that she's the queen of Neverland but she's nothing more than a deranged girl.    "How is she?" Henry asks, breaking my murderous train of thought.    "I fear she's getting worse, Henry," I say, standing up.    "But if I save magic, she'll live?"    "Yes," I say. "But more than that, Henry. If you save magic, you'll save us all. But to do that, you have to truly believe."

Wendy coughs, breaking the silence.    Henry nods, turning to face me. "I do."    "Good," I say. "Because we don't have much time."    I place my hand on Henry's shoulder. "Follow me."    Henry glances at Wendy one last time before following me.

"My brothers!" I shout, stepping up onto a rock so as to get their attention. "Tonight, the dream of Neverland shall awaken from its slumber."    The Lost Boys stand up, gathering in front Henry and I to hear my speech.    "Tonight, The Heart Of The Truest Believer shall fulfil its destiny, and with it our destiny. Tonight, Henry saves magic!" I announce.

The Lost Boys clap and cheer at the sentence, applauding Henry. I walk past the crowd and pull Felix aside. "Any sign of Alice?"    "The Bloodlust Trio found her tracks," he says.    "And?"    "You're not going to like it," he tells me.

    "And?"

"She isn't alone," Felix tells me. "Hunter found six other set of tracks next to hers."    I let out a frustrated sigh. "Find Andrew and make sure he gets her back, tell him to kill Emma and the others if he has to."     "Noted," he says walking off to find the said boy.

Alice's P.O.V

-

"If you visit Peter's campsite often, why haven't I seen you here before?" I ask Tinker Bell.    "Because Pan gave me specific instructions to not let you see me," she says. "I was only allowed to go to the campsite to drop off supplies or collect food."

The sound of leaves rustling stops me from asking another question. The adults unsheathe their weapons and get into a fighting stance. I take a step forward but Baelfire pushes me behind him before I even think of unsheathing Lilith. I expected to see one of the Lost Boys but an middle-aged man and woman emerge from the jungle instead. The group relaxes, lowering their weapons.

"Well, if this is your version of a rescue party, we got here just in time," the raven haired woman says, walking towards us.    "What are you two doing here?" Mary Margret asks as her husband slips his sword back into its sheath.    "Well, same as you, except we actually have a chance. Pandora's box," she says, gesturing towards the small box in the older man's hands.

"It can trap Pan for eternity simply by opening the lid."    "You didn't tell me that my father was with her," Baelfire says, turning to face Emma.    "I didn't know," the blonde woman says.    "Wait," Tinker Bell says, eyes wide. "Your father is The Dark One?"    "Yeah, and he's not getting anywhere near Henry."

"Bae—" the man begins.    "Why?" Emma asks. "What are you talking about?"    "There's a prophecy that says Henry will be his undoing," Baelfire tells her. "He didn't come here to protect him. He came here to kill him."    The raven haired woman turns to face The Dark One. "That's why you didn't want to find Neal before you got Henry back? Because you knew he'd spill your secret."

"Everything I did was to protect Henry, to rescue him from Pan," he argues.    Realisation washes over Emma and she raises her sword, keeping it pointed at the older man. "It all makes sense. You left before we even made shore."    "You wanted to get to Henry first," Mary Margret accuses, nocking her bow.

David unsheathes his sword. "When he was on his own."    "So no one could stop you," Hook adds, pointing his sword at The Dark One.    "So you can kill him," the raven haired woman says, disgust etched on her face.    "It's not going to happen," Emma states. "Not unless you go through all of us first."

"You're making a mistake," The Dark One says. "I don't care if the boy is destined to be my undoing. I won't hurt him."    "Because that sounds just like you," the raven haired woman says sarcastically.    It's only been thirty seconds since I first met that woman and I can already tell that we'll get alone just fine.

"Without me, you will fail," he states. "I'm the most powerful amongst us."

"That's why we can't trust you," Baelfire says.    "If I could give you my dagger, I would. But I can't."    "But you can give me Pandora's box," Baelfire says. "I don't have to trust you if I can stop you."    The Dark One's face falls. "Son..."

The Dark One trails off when he realises that he can't do anything about it. He steps forward, handing the box to his son.    "Look at me," Baelfire says to his father. "You so much as lift a finger to perform magic, you're going to be spending an eternity in this box."

"We're here," Tinker Bell says. "Pan's perimeter."    "It's time," Emma says. "Tink will sneak us in the back like we planned. We grab Henry. In and out, simple."    "You good with Pan patrol?" Emma asks Baelfire.    "Locked and loaded," he replies, tapping on his sling bag.    "You mind if I, uh," The Dark One pauses, unsheathing Hook's sword. "Borrow this?"

David brings his hand to the hilt of his sword.    "You said no magic, I agreed. But I'm not going in there with nothing but my good looks," The Dark One says, walking past us.    Hook looks at the group. "Now, I, on the other hand—"    "Here," David says, tossing a machete to a Hook. "In case your good looks fail you."

"Thanks, mate," Hook replies.    Emma looks at the group, then at me. "Let's get Henry."

The nine of us slowly make our way past the camps borders, making sure we aren't seen by any Lost Boys. I watch in silence, observing the Lost Boys as they carry on with their daily activities. I spot Lewis and Will seated next to Ray in the crowd.

I can't help but feel like I'm betraying Peter's trust by helping them. Well, in my defence, Peter didn't tell me about Henry's family being on the island. And who knows what other secrets he's kept from me?

"Can I at least use magic on these boys?" The Dark One asks.

    "No," Baelfire replies.

"I'll do it," The raven-haired woman, Regina, says, lifting her hand up.

"Do you remember the spell?" The Dark One asks.

Regina gives the older man an annoyed look. She then waves her hand in the Lost Boys' direction, knocking all of them out. I feel a twinge of guilt as I watch my friends collapse onto the ground, unconscious. Only when the last boy falls onto the soft ground do we emerge from the bushes. We search the area, looking for any sign of the "bloody demon" as Hook likes to call him.

    "Where's Pan?" Baelfire asks.

    "I don't know," Emma answers.

"Henry!" Emma calls out,  hoping for a response.

"He's gotta be somewhere," David states, looking behind a tree.

    "Where?" Mary Margret asks.

"Help!" I hear a young girl cry out.

Emma looks up from the ground and runs towards the direction where the shout came from. I run after her, making sure that I don't lose sight of the blonde woman. Emma abruptly stops, causing me to bump into her as I was right behind her. I peer at the cage in front of us, sensing movement. Emma walks up to the cage, placing her hands on the bards of the cage as she kneels down. My eyes widen when I see the young girl inside.

"You're an— An adult," the girl says, shocked.

"My name's Emma, I'm looking for my son," Emma begins.

She's cut off by the sound of the rest of the group approaching us. The three of us look up as Baelfire walks up to us. He cocks his head to the side, squinting at the girl inside the cage. "Wendy?"

"Do I know you?" Wendy, asks.

"It's Baelfire," he replies, smiling at her.

"You two know each other?" Emma asks, standing up.

"Bae!" Wendy exclaims, smiling back at him.

"Yeah," Baelfire answers. "Yeah, we do."

"Can it really be you?" she asks, looking at him as if she were dreaming.

Baelfire grabs a rock from the ground, repeatedly hitting the cage's lock with it. The cage rattles as the lock gives way, allowing Wendy to come out.

"I thought I'd never see you again," she says, hugging Baelfire.

He pulls back, looking at her. "What are you— What are you doing here?"

"Well, I-I came back to save you," Wendy replies.

"You did that for me?" he asks.

"Well, I couldn't bear for you to be without a family, not after you told us that your mother and father were both dead," she says.

"You told her I was dead?" The Dark One asks.

"Well, it was easier than telling the truth," Baelfire says, turning to face him. "My own father abandoned me."

****

"Here, kid," Emma say, handing Wendy a blanket.    "Alice, could you keep Wendy company while the rest of us talk?" Baelfire asks.    "Sure. Come on, Wendy. Let's sit over there," I say, placing my arm around the blonde girl.    "How did Peter treat you?" I ask her as the both of us sit down.

"Why do you call him Peter?" she asks me. "He never lets anyone call him that."    I shrug my shoulders. "I don't know, I've just always called him that."    "But he never let's anyone anyone him that, not even Felix or myself." she says.    "Why? What are you to him?" I ask.    "I'm his girlfriend."    I immediately start coughing.

"Sorry-" I cough. "What- What did you say?"    "I said that I'm his girlfriend," Wendy repeats. "He told me that he loved me."    I stare at her blankly. Is this girl delusional or something?    "Sweetie," I say, placing my hands over hers. "Peter doesn't say that to anyone, not even Felix."    "That's not true, he said it to me!"

Luckily for her, Baelfire pulls me aside before I say something I know I'll regret.

"Hey, Wendy, since you've been here, have you seen my son?" Bealfire asks. "His name is Henry."

"You have a son?" she asks, feigning a shocked look.

The Dark One looks at her sceptically.

"Yeah. Pan needs his heart," Baelfire tells her.

"Has he said anything about The Heart Of The Truest Believer?" Emma asks.

Wendy shakes her head. "No, I'm sorry. He never mentioned anything about a heart."

"She's lying," The Dark One announces as if he's read my mind.

He makes his way towards her, pointing his sword at her threateningly. "Where is he?"

"Woah, woah, woah. What the hell are you doing?" David asks, keeping The Dark One from impaling the blonde girl.

"I've carried enough lies in my life to recognise their burden," the older man says. "She knows where Henry is."    "Is that true?" Neal asks looking back at Wendy.    "You don't understand—"

"You're helping Pan?" Mary Margaret asks, disappointed obvious in her voice.    "He's keeping John and Michael alive," she tells us, her voice breaking. "Only if I do as he says."    "Trust me," The Dark One says. "Whatever he's promised he will go back on his word."    "Why should I trust a man who abandoned his own son?" Wendy asks.

"Because your brothers did. They trusted a woman named Belle," Regina says, glancing at The Dark One. "They helped her get this box, so we can defeat Pan."    "They're okay?" Wendy asks.    "For now," The Dark One answers, "and only if we succeed."    "Wendy," Baelfire says, kneeling down. "We'll save John and Michael, I swear to God. But right now, we're gonna need your help. Please."

Wendy looks at the ground. "Pan told Henry that he needs his heart to save magic." she looks back up. "But it's a lie. He needs it to save himself."    "What do you mean?" Baelfire asks.    "Pan's dying," Wendy says.

Say what now?    "He needs The Heart Of The Truest Believer to absorb all the magic in Neverland. And once he does, he'll be immortal, more powerful."    "And what happens to Henry?" Mary Margaret asks.

"Well, it's a trade," Wendy explains. "When Pan lives, Henry will die."

Cliffhanger xD HAHAHAHA I feel so evil rn. Please don't kill me for leaving so many cliffhangers in this book. I just can't help myself xD Anyway, what did you guys think of this chapter? Was it good, bad? Comment your thoughts below.

Fyi in case some of you didn't watch the TV shows, Wendy isn't that bitchy in the show. I was inspired to write her character based on a bitchy "friend" of mine.

Anyway, most of you must be wondering why this chapter was so short, it's mostly because I tend to update shitty chapters that don't really make sense if the chapter has more than 2.5K words. Don't believe me? Check out my last chapter, that was a total flop. I can say with confidence that it would've been better if I'd split my last chapter into two separate chapters. Oh well, live and learn.

On that note, I'm going to "study" for my exams now. Bye, guys.
