Demi's POV
I opened my eyes and l touched my nightstand looking for my phone into my dark bedroom. I switched it on to look at the hour. It was only 8am in the morning. It was Saturday and I would be sleeping if it wasn't for my upset stomach. The night before, after we came back from the Camp, I went out with Marissa and Matthew to a pub. We didn't really drink so much because I was very tired and I left early, but by my stomach ache, seemed like the alcohol didn't sit well with me.
I rolled over and after trying for like hours to find a good position to sleep, I got it right when my phone started to buzz and Wilmer's name covered the whole screen. He was calling me.
—Good morning baby! —he said when I picked up.
—Hi love —I replied—. How is it that you are calling me this early? —I joked.
—Well, it's not that early... It's 11am... —he chuckled—. I just missed waking up next to you.
I rolled my eyes smiling and I replied:
—Wilmer the sickly sweet is back! —I shouted at the phone, making him laugh.
—Well, it's not really that I missed you —he smirked—. It's that you don't reply to the messages, so I had to call you.
—Well, as I was trying to sleep, I had my phone's data connections deactivated —I murmured.
—Oh! Okay, it's that Kelsey, David, Sarah and Jane texted us in the group chat we have, telling that there was a sunny day ahead and if we wanted to go to the Dallas' Botanical Garden to spend the day together.
I was not feeling like super energetic, but it sounded cool and I didn't want to spend the day in bed, so I nodded.
—Cool! See you then baby, l'll pick you up in 30! Love you!
—Okay, love you!! —I said and we hanged up.
May was coming to an end and we could already feel the warmly June, so I put some jeans, a short-sleeve T-shirt, a grey shawl and some black sandals.
The punctual Wilmer came to my house exactly 30 minutes later, so I took my bag and I headed out to his car.
—Hello baby! —he said pecking my lips when I got in.
—Hi —I replied, kissing him back.
I fastened my seat belt and I put my sunglasses on.
—They are waiting for us at the end of the neighborhood in Jane's car —Wilmer told me—. We'll follow them —he added, raising the volume of the radio.
There was just an hour from my apartment to the botanical garden, but with the situation of my stomach that morning and all the curves on that highway, I was getting carsick. I closed my eyes and leaned back on my seat trying that sickness to disappear.
—Are you okay?
I heard Wilmer ask me and I opened back my eyes to reply.
—Yeah, I guess it's that I went out with Ma and Matt yesterday night and alcohol killed me.
Wilmer burst out laughing at my comment, not taking his eyes off the road.
—Miss Lovato got drunk? —he asked, giggling.
—No... not really... I didn't almost drink. I took two beers, but I guess I had a bad day —I replied, closing my eyes again.
—Oh... But are you feeling better? —Wilmer asked, concerned—. Do you want to take some fresh air? We can stop the car for a while if you want.
—No... Don't worry, I'm okay —I told him.
But, suddenly, just like three minutes later, I felt my nauseas get prolonged. I opened my eyes and waited some seconds to see if it was just temporary, but they wouldn't disappear. I needed to get out of the car.
—Wilmer! Stop the car right now! —I got to say putting my hand into my mouth.
—You need to throw up? —he asked, getting anxious and trying to turn off the road to get to the curb.
He stopped the car and I ran out with him coming right after me. I tried to put my hair in a ponytail, but I didn't even get time before I started to vomit. I bent down and Wilmer held my hair as I continued to throw up.
Miss Sarah, Jane, Kelsey and Mr. David put the car into reverse and appeared at the curb some minutes later.
—What happened? Why did you stop? —Jane and Kelsey asked, getting out of their car.
—Demi got carsick and she had to throw up —Wilmer replied while I tidied myself up.
—Oh! Are you feeling better? —Jane asked me, caressing my back.
—Yeah, thanks —I replied.
—But who is the pregnant woman here? —Kelsey joked, making us laugh before we went back to our cars.
We spent the day between flowers; we lay down on enormous green gardens and ate a picnic next to a blue lake. The day was already getting dark when we decided to leave. We all said goodbye to each other and started our way back home.
—Want to spend the night at mine? —I asked Wilmer.
—Well... I was going to ask you if you wanted to spend it on mine —he replied—. You know... I've been out for a week... I should be near Lucía for a bit... Plus, she told me she was willing to see you!
I looked at Wilmer seriously, trying to figure out if he was teasing me. Lucía willing to see me? HA HA HA. Next joke, please.
—Come on baby, say yes —he begged and I nodded, rolling my eyes.
—Hello! How have you been Demi!? —she hugged me when we got into the kitchen.
Lucía was cooking I don't know what, but I can assure that it smelled so bad I could throw up again in a minute.
—I'm great! We've had so much fun in the camp! What about you? —I smiled, trying to be nice.
—Nice! I've been great too! —she smiled, rubbing her big four month's baby bump.
Yeah, that kid must be big, because I had never seen such a big four month's baby bump.
—I didn't cook anything for you because I didn't know if you were going to have dinner out —she told us and I thanked god for it.
—Don't worry! I'll cook —Wilmer said.
Wilmer's POV
We had dinner while showing Lucía the pictures we took at the camp because she wanted to see them.
—Aw! How cute you both look at those pictures! —she told us.
—Thank you! —Demi grinned—. Don't forget to take them off the folder, Wilmer —she added.
—Yes, don't worry —I said.
—Why? —Lucía asked us—. They are beautiful!
—Yeah, but those pictures are the ones we have to carry to school so the parents decide the ones they want to have a copy of —I explained—... and as I told you we can't be discovered at school if we want to keep our jobs.
—Oh... true! —she nodded as I kept our pictures in an envelope and I put it into the entrance's closet.
After dinner Demi and I went upstairs to my room to watch a movie. She brushed her teeth, put her pajamas on and got in my bed.
—I'll brush my teeth too —I told her—. I'll be back in a second!
I brushed them and I got back into my room straight taway.
—What movie do you want to watch? —I asked to Demi switching on the DVD player—. Demi? Did you hear me? —She wasn't replying, so I repeated.
I turned over to look at her when I saw that she was peacefully sleeping while cuddling with the pillow. I laughed silently and then smiled. I switched the DVD player and the TV off and I walked to my bed.
—Good night baby —I said, kissing her forehead and switching off my room's light.
