04:00, 9 January 2026Later that night Athena pulled her mom aside to have a conversation about the future. "Mom I need to talk to you about something." Natasha raised an eyebrow at her daughter. "Go on." Athena took a deep breath in and out. "I want to propose to Carol, and I want your help picking out a ring." Athena said. Natasha looked at her daughter. Really looked. "You're serious." Athena nodded. "Well, do you have a ring?" Natasha asked. "Not yet. I plan on going to look at them tomorrow." Athena stated.
"I'll go with you, help pick it out." Natasha replied. "Sounds good to me. My plan is to use Morgan to help me propose, I'm gonna buy a white onesie and write 'Will you marry my godmother?' On it." Athena explained. Natasha laughed at the idea. "Solid plan sweetie." Athena smiled. "Thanks mom. We should probably go downstairs before someone comes looking for us." With that the mother daughter duo disappeared downstairs and into their rooms for the night.
The next morning after breakfast Athena and Natasha head out without a second word to anyone else. When asked where they were going, they just said 'Shopping' and left it at that. A quick jeep drive later and they arrived at upscale jewelry store in Manhattan. The door chimed when they walked through it and the man behind the counter looked at them before asking how he could help. "I'm here to find an engagement ring for my girlfriend." Athena stated. "And what is your girlfriend like?" The man asked.
"She's strong, loud, obnoxious at times, but I love her and her flaws." Athena explained. The man nodded and began pulling out trays with rings on them. Sapphires, ruby's, diamonds in all cuts and clarities. Athena and Natasha examined them one by one before Athena picked up a silver band with an oval sapphire stone in the middle with tiny diamonds around it. "This one. It's perfect for Carol."
