On New Year's Eve Tony hosted a party, because of course he did. Athena got dressed in an all black suit and rode the elevator upstairs with her mom who was in a red dress. "I can't believe you made me be your escort." Athena sighed. "Yes well, you're the only one that looks decent next to me and besides I'm your mother. I'm allowed to make you do things you don't want to do." Natasha replied as they stepped off the elevator together.  "Ah there they are! Romanoff and Romanoff! Welcome to the party! There's an open bar over there, and food there." Tony said. Athena nodded. "Come on let's get drinks then I'll let you wander about." Natasha said. Athena rolled her eyes but walked over to the bar with her mom. "One whiskey neat, and one old fashioned." Athena told the bartender.

Over in a secluded corner watching the with curios eyes stood the new recruit, a tall, leggy blonde with hazel eyes kept looking at Athena. "Who's that?" The woman asked. "That is Natasha Romanoff and her daughter Athena Romanoff. Or as you'll call them Black Widow and Red Widow." Maria said. "Is... Athena single?" The woman asked. "Yes. But she's completely off limits. She's dated past Avengers and they both left her without a second word. So you leave her alone, or Natasha will make you." Maria warned. The woman nodded solemnly and returned to sipping her drink.

Back by the bar Valkyrie walked up to Athen in a blue dress. "Want to dance Athena?" Athena turned to Valkyrie and shrugged. "Why the hell not. Just don't step on my toes." Valkyrie smirked. "I won't." Athena extended her hand and walked to the dance floor with Valkyrie. Together the two friends danced to the music. "I hate Tony's parties." Valkyrie said. "Yea, I gathered that from how enthusiastic you looked to be here." Athena teased. "You know someone's been staring at you this entire time." Valkyrie whispered. "I saw. And I'm not interested at all. Too much drama from dating coworkers, no offense Val." Athena replied. "No offense taken." Valkyrie replied as they continued dancing.
