Tyler's POV

*A couple of months later*

"TO YOUUUUUU!"

Everyone finished singing happy birthday and Josh leaned in to blow out the candles. Everyone around the room cheered. His brother Jordan pushed him gently into the cake and Josh ended up having some frosting on his nose. I went up to him and kissed frosting off his nose.

He giggled and kissed me. Today was Josh's birthday and it was being held at my house. It was nice to see both my family and his family here together again. Josh got reunited with his mom and brother one day when we were performing at a venue. They had recognized Josh and ran up to meet him. They explained that they were relocated to Columbus after he left but were now reunited back here in our original hometown at last.

Josh started slice pieces of cake for everyone to grab an every had a slice of it. I just couldn't believe that Josh was a year older now. Where had the good old days gone? Time passes by so fast. Everyone was chatting around the house, eating cake and just having a good time.

I was talking to his brother when Josh pulled me aside for a second. I asked him what was up. He looked at me and said, "I'm really gonna miss this place when we're gone."

I knew what he was talking about. Josh and I had already found a home in Columbus for us to move in together. We told everyone here and they thought it was a lovely idea that we were moving in with each other and starting our own married lives by ourselves. I mean, we'd come and visit our families but only if we weren't on tour or busy with music.

"I am too Josh but hey, we're starting our own lives now. I think that's wonderful." I told him. He smiled. "Yeah that's pretty sick. Plus, we can always call them and visit if we ever start to miss them." he chuckled.

I patted him on the back. "That's the spirit Joshy."  He gave a giggle out when I said Joshy.

We were both already actually done packing our stuff and loading boxes for us to move out. Today was actually our last day in town. After the party, we'd be heading to Columbus.

The rest of the party was spent playing party games and Josh played his drums and I sang as if it were a concert right here in my house. Our families were the audience and they cheered for us and clapped as well. At one point, Josh almost threw up from eating too much Taco Bell and I laughed. We gave me an angry look but then laughed as well. He was such a silly kid to me still.

The party started to die down as the clock started to read 11:19 p.m. Josh helped me clean up the party little by little and in half an hour we had tidied up most of the house. My brother said he'd clean up the rest probably tomorrow.

It was time to say goodbye. Our families were on the front lawn of the house watching as Josh carried the last box and put it in the trunk of the car. He shut it gently and walked back over to us.

He stood next to me as we looked at our parents.

My parents were teary-eyed and his mom was too. Jordan stood by her comforting her as she wept silently.

Josh kissed her cheek. "It's okay mom. I'll be sure to visit you guys. I'll only be up north. Plus, I'll call every night for you to make sure I'm okay." he chuckled.

His mom hugged him and he hugged her back. Josh looked at Jordan. "Take care of her please." he whispered. Jordan nodded and whispered, "I will."

He let go of his mom and then she turned to me. "Tyler, take care of Joshua please. I know you will but take extra care of him."

I smiled. "I will Momma Dun. I promise I will. Always."  I gave her a hug too and then she went back inside of the house along with Jordan and they both stood at the window looking at us.

We were left with my parents now who stood there before us. My mom spoke up first.

"I just can't believe you're finally all grown up. Where did the time go when I would teach my little Tyjo how to walk?" she said in a gentle voice as she pinched my cheeks. I laughed. "Mom, please you're embarrassing me."

I heard Josh chuckle. "No no keep pinching his cheeks, it's fun to see him laugh like a little cute baby."

My mom laughed and then she let go of my cheeks. She gave me one last look and gave me a hug. "Please come visit us Tyler. We're gonna miss having you around."

"I know mom. I'll visit you guys. I'm gonna you baking cookies." I joked.

"Well if you come visit, I'll bake you some anyway." she said with a ruffle of my hair.

My dad stepped up and looked at Josh.

"You take good care of him okay? He may be an adult now but he's still our kid. But I know you'll protect him at all times. I know you will." he said to Josh with a pat on his back.

Josh nodded. "I promised I'll always be there for him sir. I am never going to break that promise."

My dad smiled and turned to me. "And you mister, don't get into any trouble out there. You're gonna be great. Just, come visit us, okay?"

I nodded. "Yes dad. Of course."

"That's my boy." he gave me a hug and then let go shortly.

Josh and I looked at each other.

My parents went to the porch and turned to us as they saw us walk to our car. Josh's family was there watching as well.

Josh opened the door for me and I went inside and he went around and got in the car too.

He looked at me.

"Are you ready to venture into the unknown?"

I took a deep breath. "Let's do it."

He put the key in the ignition and started the car up. We turned one last time to our families and waved goodbye. They ran out of the house as we started to slowly drive off and they waved and shouted their goodbyes to us.

"Goodbye everyone, take care please!" I shouted out of the car window.

I saw them in the rear-view mirror waving goodbye as Josh drove off slowly into the night.

[To Build A Home by The Cinematic Orchestra]

Josh unlocked the door to our new house and we stepped inside carrying some boxes.

We had already been moving in this whole time but tonight, we officially moved in permanently.

Our home was in the suburbs of Columbus and it was a decent size house for at least two people. I was just happy that Josh and I were going to live with each other as a married couple. I was happy.

He set some boxes down on a nearby table and turned to me, grabbing me by the waist and kissed me passionately.

I kissed him back too and then we locked eyes with one another.

"I love you Tyler." he told me. I giggled. "I know you do silly. Say, what time is it?" I asked him.

He looked at his wrist watch and said, "It is 11:55. Why?"

"I wanna show you something." I grabbed his hand and led him to a box that was sitting by the bottom of the staircase. I grabbed a box cutter and opened the box with it.

"It's still June 18th, your birthday, which means I can still give you your present." I rummaged through the box and pulled out a book which was actually an album but Josh didn't know.

"Here. It's not wrapped or anything but I've kept this journal album hidden from you for awhile. It's nothing bad but in it I have tons of pictures of when we were little and growing up together and more recent ones of our concerts and wedding. Each page also has like a little journal entry of mine that goes with the picture on that page. I've basically been writing about us almost everyday since I got this."

He started flipping through the album as I continued to speak. "I know it may not be much but the album isn't finished yet. There's still tons of more pages needed to be filled with entries and pictures of us and now that we're married, I'm sure that so many more pictures will fill this up. I just can't believe that I've known you all my life now basically. I'm so ready to spend the rest of it with you. I love you so much Josh. Happy birthday, you king on earth." I kissed and hugged him.

He cried on my shoulder. "Tyler this is so wonderful. I can't wait to fill it up with more memories with you. Thank you for everything my love. I love you more." He kissed my forehead.

"For what it's worth, and more." I said softly still hugging him.

*Weeks later*

"Tyler, breakfast is ready!" Josh called from downstairs.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" I said and rushed downstairs to see Josh in the kitchen.

He smiled and walked to me. "Good morning dear." he kissed me on the lips.

"Good morning my love. I smell...waffles and bacon." I said sniffing the air.

"You are very much correct."  Josh said and pointed to the table and sure enough they were waffles and bacon on two plates along with some strawberries and chocolate milk. I took a look at the waffles and noticed how the toaster wasn't used.

"Joshhhh....did you use your powers to cook these?" I asked. He blushed. "Well...perhaps....is that bad?"

I sighed with a smile. "Oh Josh where will I be without you?"

He chuckled. "Well they cook faster if I used my powers. Plus, they're much better when I heat them up versus a silly toaster. Bon apetite!"

I laughed and took a bite from the waffles. "Yes. They are very good. I'm impressed."

He sat down next to me at the table and took a bite from the strawberries. "See?" he said between bites. "Told you they'd be good." he joked.

"Yeah yeah, shut up dummy." I punched his shoulder gently. He laughed.

We both looked at each other and were lost in each other's eyes. I hadn't taken the chance to notice that the world around us had turned black and white. When I snapped out of it, Josh had to and we looked around to see that everything was black and white.

We both turned to see someone, in color, sitting at the end of the table.

Ah yes, these are very good indeed, gentlemen. Truly appetizing.

It was Blurryface. He was wearing a striped sweater with his white sunglasses and red beanie. His neck and hands were black as usual and he nibbled on some waffle.

"Blurryface? What are you doing here?" I asked.

He got up. Well I wouldn't want to miss Josh's waffle skills. If *only* Jim could great as this. He laughed.

Josh spoke up. "Blurry if you're here to take Tyler again, he's mine forever now. See, we're married." Josh held up his hand to point to the ring on his finger.

Blurry laughed. Oh no I'm not here to take Tyler. He's yours now. Besides, my eyes are set on something else... He glanced over to Spooky Jim who was in a corner banging his drum sticks. He turned around. Huh?  he said.

We all laughed. Blurryface came up to me. You know Tyler, you never really defeated me. That's sad but I can see that I can't really get to you anymore. You have Joshua now. I mean after everything I've put you through for so long, Josh kinda got in the way of my evil and well, I gave up eventually. But hey, it led you to write some nice music. 'Twenty One Pilots' . It has a nice ring to it.

"Yeah I guess. What are you gonna do now then, I mean you're still all my insecurities and fears." I asked.

He scratched his beanie. Well, I'll still be around and so will Jim. We'll be watching you two but we can't do much anymore. You two are happy now. I guess peace does win and fear does lose. But I think Jim and I will be exploring ourselves a little more...

Josh looked at me. "Exploring?"

Blurryface smacked his lips. Yep. Don't worry, Jim and I will be fine together. He's mine forever now.

Jim walked up and put his arm around Blurryface. Oh yes. We are each other's now. And hey Josh, don't give up on the drums. We had good drum battles in the past but honestly, you're really good. Never give up on your drumming skills dude.

Josh nodded. "Thanks Jim."

Blurryface looked at me. And you Tyler, keep writing songs. I know in the past I might have said that I didn't care what you thought but now I'm here to say that my name's Blurryface and I do care what you think. Your songs are great but just lay off on the sadness okay? Too many people out here romanticizing mental illness in your songs, yeesh.

I chuckled. "I'll try Blurry. Thanks."

Blurryface and Spooky Jim looked at one another. Well it's time for us to depart. We'll be there watching you two. Hey, maybe you'll see us at some of your future tours? I can't wait to see Tyler in that giant red hamster ball again. That part's the best. Blurryface joked.

We all laughed and they kissed each other and then waved at us goodbye. We waved back and Blurryface snapped his finger and they disappeared in a flash, leaving us alone again in the now color filled world.

I turned to Josh. "You know Josh, we may not be able to ever fully defeat our fears and insecurities but we can still strive to better days. Besides, we're gonna be here next to each other for a long time. Plus, you have your alien powers and I think we can have fun with those." I giggled.

He smiled and showed me his birthmark. The familiar galaxy at the top with the beautiful tree stretched along his arm. It glowed faintly.

"Yes I still have my powers which I still have to keep a secret on the low. I actually read through that one government folder I found when I realized I was alien, and I couldn't believe my mom still had it. I've read through it and found out all these cool things I didn't know I could do. Maybe I'll show you one of these days." he said.

I kissed his nose. "Please do. Impress your husband Joshy! Impress him!" I waved my hands in the air and he laughed.

"But you know the most interesting thing that I read was that apparently it's possible to replicate my DNA and mix it with someone else's to make like a hybrid version of me. It's almost like making your own babies but without the messy part... uh." he started to chuckle nervously.

I turned my head. "Oh really? That sounds weird but cool I guess. What are you trying to say here?"

Josh grabbed my hand.

"I want to start a family with you Tyler."

My heart skipped two beats this time.

"Wait, really? But how would we even..." my voice trailed off.

"I can take a sample of my DNA and get a sample of yours. If I follow the instructions the classified papers I have, I can easily make hybrid versions of us. Half alien and half human. They'll be our little kids Tyler. They'll both have our DNA so yes they'll both half our genes and everything. Come on, don't you wanna raise twins together? I want to pick them up one day and be called dad by them. I want to start a family with you Ty. It will be wonderful." he said.

I took a deep breath. "You know what Josh? Sure, why the heck not?"

He hugged me tightly and then looked at me. "Yeah Tyler, let's get some kids!"

*A year later*

"Would you look at him? He sleeps just like you." Josh told me quietly, careful not to wake up Will.

"Oh hush." I pointed to Robert who was sleeping next to William in the crib. "He drools just like you Josh."

Josh blushed. "I do not drool Tyler."

I placed my hands on my hips. "Mhmm sure Joshua." I kissed his nose.

A year earlier, Josh had successful done all the things he needed to do to genetically-produce two twin baby hybrids. They were both boys and we decided to name them after our middles names: William and Robert.

Josh told me that Robert was the twin that some of his powers got replicated into. William would have no powers but I told him it didn't matter. Robert resembled mostly Josh and William resembled mostly me but they both had some of our physical features.

Now here they were, sleeping peacefully in a crib like little angels.

"Come on, they need sleep." I whispered to Josh and we both tip-toed out of the room and shut the door quietly.

We then went to our bedroom and got into bed. Josh got out his jeans and into only his underwear and a black t-shirt. I got out of my shorts  and also into my underwear and a white t-shirt and got into bed next to Josh.

Our bed was overlooking a window to which we could see the night sky. He put his arm around me in bed as we stared outside.

I kissed his forehead. "You smell like green apples."

"It was the shampoo I used. I'm glad you noticed." he giggled.

I snuggled up closer to him. "These last twenty-five years have been amazing Joshua."

He hummed quietly back. "Yes very amazing. Hey remember the time I was trying to teach you to skateboard but you kept falling off? You were so clumsy."

I giggled. "Yeah I remember. Oh, remember when Brendon tried to fight you but I jumped in and saved you?"

"Well Tyler, technically, you told me it was actually Blurry who did that. I mean, I knew that there was no way in hell that you would yell so loudly at Brendon and practically throw him to the floor yourself."

He scoffed. "Gee thanks Joshy."

He kissed my nose. "Oh but remember when you came to rescue me from that prison? Now THAT was definitely you. I mean we ran through the prison halls and out the back door and into the night. I will always remember that night."

"I think I'll always remember the times you'd come over and we'd sit on the sidewalk drinking juice pouches and talking about our lives. Also, the day you got lost at the store and you were desperately looking for me and I was busy in the cereal aisle." I laughed.

"Oh be quiet. You know you'd be panicking too." he said.

I shrugged. "Yeah you're right. I still love you though."

"Remember when we were little and I'd always bring you little daisies at recess. One day, I went to give you one but then it turned out you had made a flower crown from all the daisies I had given you and you put it on my head. I pretended I was a prince and that you were the princess in distress." Josh said.

"At least I was the pretty one." I joked and stuck my tongue out.

He giggled. "You were always pretty to me Tyler. You still are. Very, very pretty." he rubbed his thumb on my chin and I couldn't help but turn red.

It was silent for a bit until I spoke up.

"Josh?"

He turned over to me. "Yeah?"

"Thank you for everything."

"What's that?" he got closer.

"Thanks for everything Josh. Seriously, no one had believed in me as much as you did. You really taught me that life does get better. You taught me to love myself again and to get over my fears. I really wouldn't be here if you with the blue-hair hadn't came up to me in school and offered to be my friend. You saved me. You always did. I owe you one."

He smiled. "You don't owe me anything Ty. I saw that you were a broken little boy and I wanted to be the one thing on this planet to save you. Everything we went through, we stood strong together. This marriage, this family we have now, this chance to be here in bed next to you, will never compare to anything else in the past. We are complete now no longer broken. You stayed alive. I stayed alive. For each other. The End of the World never came to us. We got back up on our feet and had each other. I only look forward to the future with you and spend the rest of my life with the one thing that kept me going every day: you. Thank you for everything Tyler."

I kissed him and he kissed back.

"I love you so much Joshua Dun."

He flicked off the light and pulled me closer under the covers.

"I love you so much more Tyler Joseph and that is pretty good, I think."
