The Run

08:05, 2 March 2017

Third-Person POV

Tyler and Josh knew it was time to escape.

Tyler knew Josh had been in here locked up for too long.

Josh knew Tyler never forgot about him for those ten years.

They knew they still had each other's back.

Now they just had to think of a plan to escape.

Tyler and Josh saw that Blurryface had left in a rather sudden way. Blurryface had told Tyler that he'd there to help him escape with Josh but he had left and broken that promise. Tyler supposed he expected that Blurry but now it was time to use his own head and help his boyfriend escape this hell-hole.

Tyler walked along with Josh through the dim hallways of the prison trying not to get caught by any guards. Josh told him that to escape he'd have to disable the security system. The security room was in the northeast sector of the prison. Surprisingly, they had no trouble reaching it. Most of the guards were still trying to contain the prisoners running around the halls and trying to put out the flames from the explosion Blurry had caused.

Josh stopped at the door. He put his hand on the handle and closed his eyes. Suddenly there was a click and the door opened.

"It was locked but I used my powers to open it without activating the alarm. Now go inside, I'll be out here on the lookout." he told me.  "Thanks Josh." I told him.

I walked inside and there was a lot of monitors. Each of the monitors overlooked different parts of the prison. It monitored hallways, cells, the cafeteria, the front and back entrances as well as the courtyard. In one monitor, Tyler noticed the area he had caused the explosion and noticed guards running and panicking as they tried to put out the flames. In another monitor he noticed prisoners running as they tried to avoid the clutches of guards.

It seemed like everyone was primarily focused on the fire and catching all loose prisoners. It would be very unlucky if Josh and him were to get caught.

Tyler stared at the console in front of him. There were so many buttons that he couldn't possibly know which ones activated or deactivated who knows what. He needed help but perhaps he needed Josh's help.

He turned around and saw Josh standing at the door looking out for any guards. He called out for him. "Hey Josh? Can you come help me, please?"

Josh turned around and nodded. "Yeah sure, what's wrong?"

Tyler pointed at the console. "There's so many buttons, I just don't know if I can actually deactivate this whole thing. Please help me."

"Aw Ty, you're overwhelmed again." Josh said and patted Tyler's back. "Look I know you're under a lot of stress right now but we're almost out of here. Just focus. Look at all the buttons and the words on them. You can do this. I believe in you."

Tyler sighed and took another look at the buttons and switches. He carefully examined them and noticed a part of the console that read "security". He focused his attention on those.

Then he saw the buttons. He knew it was those very buttons that would disarm the security system and let them escape out of there.

He prayed it was the right buttons and he pressed them. He heard a small buzz and look up on one of the monitors.

*Security system disarmed*

Tyler chuckled out of relief. "Josh, I did it! Look I did it!" He turned around and saw Josh had his hands up in the air as four guards stood at the door.

"Heh, seems you sure did it Joseph. You really tried to escape out of here huh?" One of them said.

Josh gulped. "It's okay Tyler. You tried. We tried. At least we tried..." His voice trailed off.

Tyler backed away. "What...no...we have to...leave...I..." He had no words to say.

"Come on Dun, you're coming with us and we're gonna make sure you STAY in that chair for good." The second guard said.

"NO YOU CAN'T TAKE HIM PLEASE LET HIM GO!" Tyler yelled.

"It's okay Tyler. I'll be okay." Josh said in a shaky voice trying to be reassuring.

"I SAID COME ON." The guard said louder and one of them grabbed a small remote and pressed the button on it. It shocked Josh and he fell to the floor screaming in agony.

"JOSH!" Tyler yelled as he ran to his boyfriend but got pushed back by a guard.

"YOU STAY AWAY FROM THIS THING. DON'T YOU KNOW NOT TO MAKE DEALS WITH THE DEVIL?" A guard with shades on said.

Tyler was on the verge of crying. Josh was about to be taken away again. He had to think of something quick.

He just wished that he could forget seeing Josh in pain right there.

Forget.

"Wait that's it. Forget." Tyler said in his mind.

He discreetly pulled the memory gun from his prison suit and switched it on. He typed in "Joshua William Dun and Tyler Robert Joseph" into it.

"Here goes nothing." He got up and yelled to get the guard's attention.

They all turned around and gasped.

Tyler was smiling evilly as he held the gun pointed at them.

"Say cheese fellas." And with that, he pulled the trigger and the gun shot a blueish beam towards the guards. The beam was so strong, it knocked them to the floor and left them unconscious.

Tyler gasped. "Woah...this actually worked." He saw his boyfriend on the floor and rushed to him.

"Josh! Josh are you okay? Please be okay." He nudged Josh and sure enough, he was okay.

He smiled faintly. "Yes Ty, I'm okay. Just a little shock, that's all."

Tyler smiled. "Josh this gun, it cleared the memories of us two from the guard's brains. I did that!"

Josh chuckled. "Yes you did. Hmm, I wonder..." Josh took the gun from Tyler. "I wonder if I can plug this in to the console here and produce a frequency blast to erase the memories of us to all the guards and prisoners here."

He searched for wires and found some. He plugged them into the gun and checked to see if it was still programmed on "Joshua William Dun and Tyler Robert Joseph" and it was.

"Alright Tyler, when I say 'get down', you get down and cover your ears. Okay?" Josh told him.

Tyler nodded. Josh then turned himself around and took a deep breath. He pulled the trigger and immediately yelled "GET DOWN, COVER YOUR EARS!"

They both got down and covered their ears as a loud painful frequency echoed through the entire prison.

The guards and prisoners reacted to this painfully and fell to the floor. They had their hands on their ears but it was too late. They all forgot about Tyler and Josh.

However, the two boys were safe and they still very much remembered each other.

They both got up and hugged each other. They were almost out.

"Come on Tyler, let's get the fuck out of here." He took Tyler's hand as ran with him out into the hallways.

They ran past guards and prisoners all asking who those two were. They ignored them and continued to run towards the back entrance.

They ran past all the dirty cells, the flames of the explosion, the cafeteria and finally reached the back door of the prison.

They pushed it open and opened it to reveal that it was raining outside but the main thing they loved was the fresh air. They looked at each other, hands still in each other's and ran for it.

They ran and ran through the courtyard and until they reached the guarded fence. Josh held Tyler as he used his powers to move through the fence.

Once on the other side, they were out. After ten years, Josh was out of that hell-hole for good. They didn't remember anyone by the name of Joshua Dun or Tyler Joseph.

They looked at each one more time and held hands as they ran away from the prison into the forest as it rained gently on them.

They never once looked back.

They were now on the run.

FINALLY THEY'RE OUT OF THERE! By the way, Tyler still has the memory gun and it will come in handy again later in the story. The next couple of chapters will be fun and reminder that this story will only be about 15 chapters long so we're nearing the end. 😁 Please leave a vote and some comments if you'd like (-:
