The Judge

23:10, 18 February 2017

Tyler's POV

I pleaded guilty to the murders.

I didn't want to kill them but I had to. I had to go to prison. I wanted to see my Joshua again.

The authorities told me that I would soon be facing a jury and of course the judge as well in court.

I knew this was going to be a quick and speedy trial. But the sooner we could get this over with, the sooner and closer I was to Josh.

The trial was set to commence on January 10th. It was only December 28th.

Soon Tyler. We'll both get what we're looking for soon.

"And what exactly are you searching for Blurry?"

That's none of your business. You'l see soon enough.

------------------------------------------------

A bailiff escorted me into the courtroom. I wearing one of those orange prison suits and I had a look of crazy in my eyes. Maybe I was after killing all of those people honestly. But I had to convince them that I was crazy. Insane at least.

I was told to stand behind a podium that faced the judge. I managed to see the tag on the desk that had the judge's name on it. Judge Jack.

Oh yeah I've heard of this judge before. They called her Jack the Judge or simply The Judge and many cases she'd hear were those convicted of murder, rape, kidnappings-- insane and highly illegal stuff you know.

"All rise!" the bailiff said. Everyone in the courtroom rose. The judge came out and told everyone to sit with a slight pound of her gavel.

"Alright alright sit sit. Everyone sit. Now, we are here today because the accused here of the name Tyler Robert Joseph has committed a very heinous act. Is that correct, Mr. Joseph?" the judge said.

I stared at her with a blank evil face. "I'm not speaking."

She sighed. "Well clearly we are going to be here for awhile and it is your right to not self-incriminate yourself so I think we are going to hear the opening statements now and go through the evidence and try to reach a verdict. I think this will be quick."

"Good. The sooner we get out of here, the sooner I'll be put into prison along with Josh." I said to myself.

//////////////////////////////

It was a long four hours.

The judge dismissed the jury to go reach a verdict. Within an hour, they all came out.

"Well has the jury reached a verdict for Mr. Joseph?" the judge asked.

A man spoke up. "Yes your honor. We the Jury have reached a verdict and find that Tyler Robert Joseph is guilty on all charges. We also declare him insane."

I smiled evilly. Yes, I was insane.

"Well then," the judge pounded her gavel. "Tyler Joseph you are sentenced to 20 years in prison. I hope you find it quite well. It will suit you."

"It sure will." I said to her with a devilish grin.

"Hm." she said sternly. "Court dismissed." And with a knock of her gavel, she got up and exited through a door behind her desk and the jury and guests were dismissed. My parents were in there during this whole trial crying and pleading for them not to send me to prison but it was too late.

I was going to see Josh again.

Josh's POV

"HEY WAKE UP."

There was loud pounding on the door to my cell.

I got up and stretched in pain. I was feeling too weak. The guards opened the door and quickly walked inside. They grabbed me aggressively and forced me to walk outside.

"Where are we going?" I asked weakly.

The guard spoke. "Don't worry. It's a Friday. Remember, we like to have fun on Fridays."

I groaned in pain. "We're not going to be experimenting again are we? Please, not today. I'm not feeling well."

The guard laughed. "Ha! Do you really think we're going to listen to you? You're nothing without your powers. You're useless. We're just going to run some more tests on you. Don't worry. You're in safe hands."

I was feeling really weak. I could still feel the volts of electricity flowing through my body from the collar around my neck. I just wanted to get out of here.

You will get out of here. Soon.

I saw Spooky Jim walking in front of me. The guards couldn't see him but I could.

I think Tyler is on his way here. But he seems a little unstable. That's funny, that's not usually like him. Hmm.

I managed a very faint smile but I was tired and out of energy for a real reaction.

If Tyler really was coming for me then I shouldn't have had to lose hope this early. It's been so long. Will he still recognize me? Will he still recognize the very same little boy who went up to him sitting at a little table in the third grade all alone?

Time will tell very soon I hoped.

Tyler's POV

They escorted me in a dark hallway full of other cells.

I looked all around and saw other prisoners who looked miserable and dangerous. Maybe not as dangerous as I was but still nevertheless.

I stayed silent as we walked to my cell. I already had cuts and dirt all over my face from the transport over here. This environment felt different than any other and I almost didn't really feel safe. But Josh was somewhere in here, I could feel it.

We approached another hallway that crossed ours. As we crossed it, I looked down the dark corridor to the right of me. I could see that another hallway crossed over there and I saw some guards walking with someone to the opposite direction of me.

It looked like Josh.

No, it wasn't Josh. This area wasn't meant for him. He'd be in the maximum security area. It would be strange if he wasn't locked up over there.

Or maybe it was Josh.

Maybe I was just losing my mind.

We approached my cell and the guards threw me in there.

"Hope you dirty water and dirty sheets." They laughed and locked the cell. They walked away leaving me in silence.

I sat on the bed nearby.

"Blurry are you there?"

He appeared in front of me with a red mist around him.

Yes, are you ready for step two?

I took a deep breath. "Yes."

Excellent.

He laughed and took out his hand.

I took his hand and shook it.

It is time for step two, my boy.
