After the Calamity

"I wonder then... would you have chosen a different path?"

Link slowly reopened his eyes after recalling a memory of Zelda. He often thought of the same things. After all, he was nearly forced into saving a land he had no recollection of and people who didn't even know who he was.

What's so special about me? he thought.

A Zora has the ability to swim with great skill and ease, while also maintaining a strong and towering figure. A Rito? They can fly gracefully and have become masters at aerial combat. Gorons... their hard figures are nearly impenetrable, not to mention their inhuman strength! And the Gerudo? Well, one woman has more muscles than I've seen in the entire royal guard. But me? I'm just a Hylian.

Zelda claimed she knew then why he would be the chosen one, but he still did not understand. The Calamity nearly took his life, and here he was, back to risk it again. What was it all for? Why him? What if he just chose... a different path?

However, Hylia gave Link divine courage which no other being in Hyrule possessed. It was Link who could stop the Calamity, whether he liked it or not... And he didn't really know if he liked it or not. But the spirit of the true hero resided in him, so he inevitably chose the purest path- saving Hyrule.

Link opened his Sheika Slate and teleported to a shrine in Akkala, hoping to find another memory there.
