XXVI: Familiar Places

After the Calamity

Link walked past a cave on his back from Gerudo Town. He hopped off his horse and walked around, feeling a strange remembrance of the place.  There were certain places of Hyrule that felt more familiar to him than others.

He had regained some memories of Zelda. He remembered saving her from the Yiga clan and remembered her yelling at him at the Ancient Columns, but that was about it. Although he had this strange feeling that he... couldn't quite put his finger on.

Link called his horse back and began riding to Central Hyrule. His horse walked- they were not in a rush. He wasn't quite sure where he was headed- maybe he would go back to Kakariko village and seek out Impa for more guidance. But at the moment, he was just letting his horse lead the way.

As Link reached Central Hyrule, the castle was visible. Link knew that the area was covered in guardians, so he never got to close unless he had to. Suddenly, he heard the charging of a laser near him, and he saw one.

"Yah!" He signaled to his horse as they broke into a canter. Link turned his horse east to head to Kakariko as they ran from the guardian. Several beams were shot, but they all missed. Eventually, the guardian gave up and turned around.

Link slowed his horse after realizing they were safe from the guardian. He relaxed more, and decided to enjoy the ride to Kakariko.

On the way, he noticed a burned wagon in the distance. It looked more damaged than most he had seen that were destroyed in the Calamity. That one looked different- like it had been left there for longer than the others.

He looked at it as he passed, but thought nothing of it.
