Genevieve's POV

"Am I adopted?"I asked

"Yes, it's a long story. I was told there was a monster at La Push beach. I went out there and I saw your mother, a mermaid, there holding you close to her chest. At first, I didn't believe what I saw then after I took a couple of double-takes, I knew it was true. Your mother was injured and she gave me you. After I had picked you up, she vanished. I then took you in as my own. I wanted to tell you where you came from when you were 6, but then I and Renee got divorced and I thought that was too much to tell you at that time. So I decided to wait until you got older and now, I told you"Charlie tells me

"I always knew I was different then you guys, and now I know" I muttered

"But we all still love you the same"Charlie tells me

I smiled and hugged him. He hugged back and kissed my head. We stayed like this for a little while before he pushed me back gently.

"If there is something you are experiencing that seems odd let me know, "Charlie tells me

"I have been having powers, "I tell him

"What?"Charlie asks

"At the hospital. There was a little boy who hurt his wrist. I went to bandage his hand and wished for him not to be in pain. Then a wisp of White came out of my hands to his wrist, and he was no longer in pain and his wrist was better"I tell him

"Does Bella know about this?"Charlie asks

"Yes. She was the first to know"I tell him

"You are staying out of work for a week," Charlie tells me

"Why?" I asked

"I don't want you to leave the house for a week so you can relax and maybe work on your powers"Charlie tells me

"But what about Carlisle?"I asked

"I'll call him and say you got the flu"Charlie says

"Ok"I say

"So I know I never talk about this, but do you like him?"Charlie asks

"Yes I do, "I tell him

"Well I hope it goes good with you two," Charlie tells me

"Thanks"I said

I stood up and walked to my room. I knew that Bella was reading her book and researching things on the Cullen's. She was very persistent when she wants to know something. I sat on my bed and ran my fingers through my hair.

My phone then rang on my nightstand. I grabbed it and saw the contact ID. It was Carlisle. I answered the phone and put it to my ear.

"Hello?"I asked

"Charlie called me and told me that you won't be at work for a week. You ok?"Carlisle asks

"I'm fine. It's just a flu"I told him

"Ok. Be careful. I hope you feel better"Carlisle tells me

"I will and thank you. I should...get some rest. I'll see you next week"I told him

"Ok. Goodnight"Carlisle says

"Goodnight"I say back

I hung up and then placed my phone back on my nightstand. Bella then walked in and seemed like she accomplished something. She had her book with her. She closed the door behind her so if Charlie walks by, he can't hear.

"I found out what the Cullen's are"Bella tells me

"What do you mean?"I asked

"They're vampires. In this book it says Immortality, cold skin, fast, strong, it goes on and on. The Cullen's are vampires"Bella tells me

"Bella-"I started only to be cut off

"Look, I know you don't want to believe in this right now, but I believe in this. I want to confront Edward about it tomorrow."Bella says

"I just don't know what to say to this," I said

"It will be ok. I'll take the first step and tell Edward that I know then I know when Edward reveals everything, Carlisle will explain things to you"Bella tells me

"Hey Bella, I talked to Charlie and turns out I am adopted, "I tell her

"What?"Bella asks

"Yeah. Turns out my mother was a mermaid. She washed up to La Push beach with me in her arms. Charlie was told their was a monster at the beach. He went to check it out and saw my mom holding me in her arms. She put me on land so Charlie could take me. He looked back to my mom only to see that she vanished"I explain to her

"So you're a mermaid?"Bella asks

"I don't know, "I tell her

"Well, I think it's cool that you could possibly be one"Bella tells me

Bella then yawns making me yawn too. We laughed at each other. Bella stood up and walked out of my room to hers. I turned my lights off and went to sleep.

It has been three days since I've been stuck in the house. Bella had told Edward that she knows about what him and his family are. I never really expected to fall for a vampire. I never once thought that they existed until now I guess.

A knock on the door was what got me out of my thoughts. I walked over to the door and opened it. There standing in front of me was Carlisle. He tilted his head giving me a sign saying he needed to talk to me.

I walked out of the house and closed the door. He started walking towards the woods close to my house and I followed close behind him. We got to a small opening of the woods.

"Edward told us that Bella knows our secret. We all want to know if you know"Carlisle tells me

"Yes, I do, "I tell him

"Are you scared?"Carlisle asks

"No. Would I still be here if I was?"I asked him

"No, I guess not"Carlisle says

"What do you eat?"I asked

"We drink animal blood hence our gold eyes. I taught the family of this lifestyle not wanting them to think they are monsters"Carlisle tells me

"That's very considerate of you to do that for them"I tell him sitting on a log

"Doesn't seem like you have the flu, what's up?"Carlisle asks

"I think it's best for you to sit down when I tell you"I tell him

Carlisle nods and sits down next to me. I turned my body to look at him. I honestly didn't know where to start, but I did.

"Right before the incident in Port Angeles, me and Bella went to a book store. Bella went to find her book and I just stood to the side. I then saw a blue book that had many markings on it. I walked over and investigated it. In it was a girl who looked like me. I went to touch it and when I did, I was pulled into what looked to be a memory. It was a unfamiliar woman, who is my mom, and she was a mermaid. She was injured. Charlie was told their was a monster at La Push beach only to see my mom. She was holding me in her arms and she put me on land so Charlie could take me as his own. At the hospital with the little boy was when I knew that I was different then everyone in my house and/or family"I explain

"That why you didn't come into work for the past three days?"Carlisle asks

"That and I was trying to control my powers"I told him

"Can I see?"Carlisle asks

I nodded. I held my hand in the hair and made a small ball of water in my hand then iced it with my other hand. Then I melted the ball of water with fire coming from the hand that iced it. The ball of water disappeared in thin air. I looked at Carlisle and saw he was amazed.

He looked at me and smiled. We then sat in the woods for a little bit. We talked about all the vampire stuff that I needed to know. He even told me I was his mate which shocked me. We then talked some more and watched the sunset.
