Part 31

Adrien had quickly thrown on some sweatpants that happened to still be in his closet from when he was a teenager. He also found a few other clothes, leading to him giving a t-shirt of his to Marinette.
"Put this on," he said, throwing the shirt on the spot right next to her.
She just grinned, sticking her head up as she stretched her body. Marinette was still lying in bed, only the bottom half of her body covered by a blanket.
"Mari," Adrien warned as Marinette clearly refused to put on some clothes. "Please, put on the shirt. I'll go talk to my father and I don't want to risk anyone walking in on you naked."
Marinette's expression softened as she heard the worried tone in his voice. She held her hand out, waiting for Adrien to take it.
As he did take her hand, Marinette sat up and placed a kiss onto the back of his hand before grabbing the shirt to put it on.
"Thank you," he said, bending down enough until he could plant a kiss on the top of her head.
The lack of communication coming from Marinette's side could only mean one thing. She was tired. So Adrien was sure by the time he came back from talking to his father, Marinette would be fast asleep.
"I love you," he whispered, tilting her head up until their eyes met.
Marinette closed her eyes, savouring his words as their lips touched ever so gently.
"I love you too," she said. Her eyes were still closed but she had the biggest smile ever on her face.
In that very moment, everything around Marinette was gone. All her worries, the pain, the frustration of who was trying to harm Adrien and her. Everything was gone.
It was just a short moment. But this moment meant everything to her.
The love Adrien had for Marinette was bigger than ever, shining through from every bit of him. And her love for him was just as visible.
Three little words could change everything. Those three seemingly silly words could make one person cry, laugh a little louder, or rage with anger. They could be the source of someones happiness, or the sorrow in their darkness.
It was not even a huge situation it was said in, nothing that was to remember. Just a girl laying in bed, and a boy wanting nothing but for her to cover up.
This wasn't a heat of the moment thing. It was their love. Pure and with no filter.
A single tear rolled down Marinette's face as she lowered her head, following Adrien's figure on his way out.
"Wipe that tear away or I'll have to come kiss your whole face," Adrien said, not even looking at Marinette.
The confusion on her face was more than visible. How had he known of this tear when he wasn't even looking?
He then turned, his eyes meeting with the ones belonging to the love of his life. He smiled warmly. Not one of those smiles he put up for a picture. No, a genuine and real smile. One that screamed admiration for his lady.
Marinette wiped the tear from her cheek, but his smile just made it worse. More tears began to roll down her cheeks, and she had no idea why.
Maybe the thought of someone out there, trying to hurt what she tried to protect for so long was the cause of her sudden outbreak of emotions. Or maybe it was just the fact that he was there. He was there, with her. And he was hers.
"No." Adrien's voice was quiet. "No, you can't cry." He walked over to Marinette, climbing onto his bed before sitting down beside her.
Pulling her onto his lap, he hugged her tightly. A hug he never knew could get this intense.
"I don't like seeing you cry," he said.
Adrien had no idea what made her cry in the first place, but he didn't dare asking.
Nothing was wrong, aside from that stalker thing, but they were safe. She had no reason to be worried. Everything would be okay eventually.
But Adrien knew Marinette. He knew whatever she was crying about wasn't because she was sad, and it wasn't fear either.
"I'm sorry," she sniffled, wiping her nose with the back of her hand.
Adrien pulled away from their hug, his hands immediately cupping her face.
Her eyes were red and her nose puffy with a rosy tone to it.
His thumbs stroke over her cheeks, removing the tears from her face. He leaned his forehead against hers.
He closed his eyes as he grabbed Marinette's hand, placing it onto his chest, right over were his heart sat.
It was beating fast, faster than usual.
"This is what's happening to my heart when I look at you," he said in a quiet tone. "Every single beat you can feel, it's all beating for you, and you only."
Marinette didn't say anything, but she didn't have to either. Instead, she brushed the tip of her nose against his before gently connecting their lips, putting as much of her love into this one single kiss as she could.
They both smiled at the other as they pulled away from the kiss. Foreheads touching. Adrien placed his hands onto Marinette's lower back. Her shirt had slid up, revealed her butt.
He just chuckled, pulling down the shirt until it was covering her.
"You need to put on some panties, too."
"You didn't give me any," she said with a grin.
"I don't have any here for you," he said, "well, except for the ones laying on the floor."
"Yeah, no." Marinette shook her head. "Guess I'll stay mostly naked then. It's much more comfortable anyway."
"No, you won't," Adrien said.
Marinette pouted her lips. "But no one's going to see me anyway."
"That's what you think. Anyone could walk into this room, and you'd only have to bend just a little too far and they'd see all of your behind." Clearly he didn't like that thought.
"You're so paranoid with anyone seeing my butt," she laughed. "Literally all of your friends saw it today, except for that one little part of my bikini bottoms."
"You own bikini bottoms???" Adrien's jaw dropped.
"Yeah?"
"Oh my god, did you meet Spongebob???"
Marinette burst into laughter, tossing her head and body back, only being half held up by Adrien.
"I love your laugh," he said sensually, pushing her back up to face him.
"I have a pretty cute one, don't I?" She smirked.
"The very best," he said, though Marinette thought he would say something more jokingly. "My favourite sound ever."
"I thought your favourite sound was me moaning your name."
"Ah, that's on second place."
"Can we watch a movie?" Marinette asked as she pulled away from the kiss.
Adrien's eyebrows moved together just for a second, kind of like a twitch. "Sure," he said, "you know where to find them. So while you go decide on a movie to watch, I'll go talk to my father, okay?"
Marinette nodded, moving off his lap so he could get up.
"But before I leave," Adrien said, pulling Marinette off his bed.
He threw her over his shoulder, slapping her behind once, earning a short giggle, before carrying her to his old walk in closet.
Adrien stood her down in the middle of the room. She gasped softly.
"I knew you had much clothing, but this is-"
"More than I have at home, I know," he chuckled.
"Why don't you ever take them home?" Marinette asked. "Some of those are probably worth more than a car!"
"Probably," he said, walking over to one of the opened wardrobes, kneeling down to get to the drawers. "But I have tons of your stuff, and I prefer to wear them."
"You're like my biggest fan, aren't you?" She smiled.
"Oh you can bet on it." He looked through the drawer. "If there was a competition on who knows you the best, I would win."
"You would, because you do know me the most of all of these people on this planet."
"See, I am your biggest fan. And I get to wear your brand every single day. You're like, my whole life."
Not knowing what to say to that, Marinette just remained silent, just looking at Adrien in admiration. Even though he couldn't see that. He wasn't facing her.
"You know," Marinette began, waiting patiently for Adrien to find what he was looking for. "You made me fall in love with life."
Adrien turned to look at Marinette, just giving her a confused expression before turning back to his drawers.
"Yeah, suddenly, every day when I wake up I can't wait to go on another adventure with you. Because with you, every day is a new adventure. And it's so exciting. It's really refreshing, and I love it so, so much."
Adrien smiled to himself. "I'm glad you like my company."
He had finally found what he was looking for. Grabbing it into his hands, he walked over to his lady. He held out a completely fresh, never used pair of boxer briefs.
Marinette looked at him, trying to hold back her laughter.
"I've never worn it, don't worry," he said, laying the boxer brief down onto Marinette's head. "And they're Agreste Brand, you're welcome."
She couldn't hold her laughter any longer.
"Fancy, expensive underwear that will be too big on me, I love it," she said in a sarcastic tone.
"Well, and unworn. So they're still worth a ton of money."
"They'd be more expensive if you would have worn them." Marinette shrugged, quickly putting on the boxer briefs. "You're so boring."
"How am I boring now?"
"You just are. You could've given me ones you wore, and just not said anything, and I still would have put them on."
"Who said I wasn't lying when I said they were unworn?" He half-smiled.
After one last shared kiss, Adrien started walking right back to the exit of his room.
She walked over to the spiral staircase in his room, going up to the loft area. Adrien was right, she knew exactly where his movie shelf was at. This wasn't the first time she went up there to get a movie.
Though, she could have just chosen one that was available on Netflix, making it easier. Yet, she was certain the movie she had in mind wasn't on Netflix. She also wasn't too sure Adrien had it.
While Marinette was searching for this one specific movie, Adrien went downstairs, hoping to meet his father in his office.
Adrien knocked on the door, not even waiting to be asked to come inside before walking right in.
Maybe he should have waited. After all, his father had waited to be granted access to Adrien's room, and if he hadn't something really awkward would have happened.
"Adrien, nice of you to drop in," Gabriel said, not even looking up from his computer screen.
"Did you want anything important?" Adrien asked, taking a seat across from his father.
Gabriel look up, looking Adrien up and down. "You could've at least put on a shirt," he remarked.
Adrien rolled his eyes. "Not too necessary, it's not like I'd have to hide my torso from you."
Adjusting his throat, Gabriel nodded, giving in to his son's words.
"I just came to inform you that Nathalie and Gorilla fetched the both of you quite the amount of clothes. If there's anything else you guys need, you shall not be afraid to ask me. I will get it for you, or have someone else get it," Gabriel said.
Adrien shook his head. "Thanks, dad. But I'm not too comfortable with all of you just running in and out of Marinette and my apartment."
"Totally understandable." Gabriel bobbed his head. "I've a team investigating on who's literally stalking you. And they're also trying to find out if these people mean any harm to the both of you."
"Do you not think it's just jealousy? Some really bad prank?"
"No, Adrien," Gabriel let out a heavy sigh. "Whoever keeps publishing all of this, they don't just do this because they're jealous. There has to be more behind all this. Nathalie said maybe it's someone not wanting you and Marinette together. A possible ex-boy-/girlfriend"
"Okay." Adrien tried processing what his father has said. "But it can't be Kagami. She wouldn't do that, right?"
"Kagami Tsurugi?" Gabriel questioned in surprise. Adrien nodded. "I would never expect her doing that. Her mother would have gotten ahold of it already, and she would have informed me about it."
That was exactly what Adrien had thought.
"Well, and it can't be Luka either. I don't think so. He had said some stupid things, but he would never try hurting Marinette."

Alix/Bunnyx's PoV:
After we exited the pool, I rushed to transform. I was not supposed to tell Alya about my identity, that wasn't how she was supposed to find out.
I had just told her how small things could have major consequences, and still interfered in all of their futures.
All this time I had been trying to get Marinette and Adrien to have the happy ending they deserved. But whatever I had been trying, it always failed.
My future-me helped them finding back together eventually. Well, not really, she helped Adrien confess the fake death thing, which was a stupid thing to do to begin with.
It didn't fix their fate. They thought it did, but it didn't. In fact, it only made it worse. They were to die way sooner than expected. But there was nothing I could do.
And it was all my fault.
With every try to fix them, I only made it worse. I only ever cause more distress. I caused more pain, more sorrow, more deaths.
Looking through one of the circular windows, one year from now, I couldn't hold back my tears any longer.
"YOU PROMISED!" Marinette yelled, pushing all of Adrien's belonging off his desk. "YOU PROMISED IT WAS YOU AND ME AGAINST THE WORLD!"
"And you promised not to try and get pregnant another time. I guess the both of us broke some promises tonight," Adrien answered, having the same cold tone to his voice as Gabriel used to have.
"SLEEPING WITH KAGAMI AND WANTING A CHILD ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!" Marinette yelled.
Her face was tear-stained, her eyes red and puffy, as so was her nose. Every inch of her body was hurting, but more so was her heart.
"You said you would give up on it, Marinette. This is the fifth time you've tried it. THE FIFTH! The previous four were all miscarriages! How often do you want to put us through this?!" He yelled. Adrien never yelled at her.
"You cheated on me, Adrien! YOU CHEATED!" Marinette was crying her whole soul out.
"GOD DAMNIT, MARINETTE!" He yelled. "I DIDN'T SLEEP WITH KAGAMI!"
Marinette didn't believe him. She knew what she saw.
Adrien tried to grab ahold of her hand, but it was too late. Marinette ran away, exiting their house. Without looking for any cars, she went to run to the other side of the street until-
"I can't-" I was sobbing, removing my hand from the hole to their future. "This is all my fault," I spoke to myself.
I stepped into a hole that would take me to another timeline. It was a year back, right when she started her website.
She had never really gotten much attention. No one really cared about Marinette and Adrien individually. There was never really anything to post about.
I stepped into the very same room, seeing her sit by her desk.
"I HATE HER!" She yelled, slamming her fists right onto her desk. "SHE'S STEALING WHAT BELONGS TO ME!"
"I know you're mad," I said as I entered the room from my burrow. The girl turned out, flinching. Her jaw dropping when she jaw me. "But you can't create this website, please."
"And you are?" The disgust in the girl's voice was immaculate.
"I am Bunnyx. I come from the future. Thanks to the website you're about to create, the guy you love the most won't have a great future ahead of him," I explained with tears in my eyes.
"Like what would it do to my beloved Adrien?" She asked.
"It ruins his life. You're ruining his life. He will die very soon because of all this."
"I don't believe you." She was arrogant. So disgustingly arrogant.
"Come with me," I said, taking her with me into my burrow. It probably wasn't the best idea, but a try worth it.
"Woah." She was amazed. "You can see everyone's future??"
"I can see THE future," I corrected.
I walked her over to one of the many circular windows, showing her Adrien's future. Though, I kept Marinette out of the picture.
All she had seen was Adrien quitting modelling. He was lonely, lonelier than ever. He was so done with life that he just waited for death to happen to him.
The girls eyes filled with tears. So, so many tears. But I wasn't pitying her. She deserved to see this for what she'd caused over my friends.
She promised she wouldn't create that website. And the second I brought her back home, I rushed back into my burrow to check if their future had changed.
Clearly my timelines Marinette and Adrien still had their death as near future, but I needed to know if this was the cause for it.
Checking in at two years from now, I had to realise this website wasn't what caused their young death. Cause it was still happening. And they weren't even dating in this timeline at all.
Marinette and Adrien had never found out who was behind the website in any timeline, and they got worse with every single day. And all I could do was watch.
I tried telling Marinette before, it led to her death.
I tried telling Adrien, he ended up dead.
I even tried telling Gabriel, it ended up bringing more deaths.
I just tried giving them a bright future, because they deserved that. They deserved to have their happily ever after. They deserved to be together with no more pain.
Yet, everything I had tried, it only made things worse.
Everything I did ended up with dead people. Maybe it was their fate to die young in every single timeline, ever single universe.
But there had to be a way to grant them a long and happy life!
Paris wasn't ready to lose two of their most loved celebrities. And Paris also wasn't really to lose their beloved superhero's.
And I wasn't read to lose my two closest friends.
From this day forth, they had less a week left to live. And all I could do was watch them die, unless I found a solution. Now.
I checked back for Marinette and Adrien's future, their now future. Skipping ahead to one year. I couldn't find anything. They weren't on screen. Nothing.
So I skipped to 6 months from now. Nothing.
I skipped to 3 months, again, nothing. Nothing but hundreds of thousands of people crying. Billboards of Marinette and Adrien plastered all over Pairs, sending out prayers to their families.
"No," I said, skipping to one week from now.
"We have gathered us there today, to stay goodbye to two loved souls. Two-"
"This can't be happening!"
I went to check the previous time. I could see Marinette all happy, she was looking for a movie. She was alive.
Switching to see Adrien, he was in his father's office. They were talking. Gabriel seemed mad, but not at Adrien, at something else.
"She can report it to the police and they will have to investigate."
Adrien was alive.
Skipping to tomorrow. They were alive. The day started off good. I smiled seeing my favourite couple happily together. They deserved it.
I skipped through the day. Everything went great. They had a day without any complications. No pain. Nothing.
There was one part I wished I didn't see, but that happened quite a few times before already, so it wasn't new.
"We're going to the police station tomorrow. This will all be over soon," Adrien said, giving Marinette one of the biggest smiles ever. She smiled back, though she was really relieved. It was obvious.
"That doesn't look bad," I said to myself.
I skipped over the night, looking at the next day, two days from now.
They woke up, getting ready to go to the police station. Everything seemed normal. It was a normal interaction with some police officers. Two nice seeming policemen filled up their files, making sure Marinette and Adrien would be getting security soon.
Security sounded good.
"Will this be all?" Lieutenant Roger Raincomprix asked.
"Yes, thank you, sir." Adrien went to shake the officers hand.
Though something seemed off. I could see the officer roll his eyes, kind of like he was annoyed.
They wen't home. Their drive home was fine. Nothing happened.
Oh.
I closed my eyes, not wanting to see what was happening next.
I couldn't do this anymore. I had to go tell Marinette. She had to know the truth. She deserved to know.

Just as Adrien wanted to stand up from his chair, Gabriel had received an E-mail. He stopped his son from leaving as he started to read.
"The computer that was used to hack into yours had been used at the Grand Paris," Gabriel said. "But their computer room. There is no way in finding out who was using it by the time they took that video."
Adrien let out a groan in defeat.
"Is there really no way of finding out who used it that day?" Adrien asked, Gabriel shook his head no.
"The Grand Paris doesn't control who's using the computers. If something breaks, they'll just replace it. I am so sorry, son."
"But like, doesn't every website have to have like a Company Information at the bottom of their page?" Adrien held his face between his hands.
Gabriel nodded, but Adrien just knew there was more to this nod.
"They put up Marinette's name as the owner. All of her details. She's the rightful owner of the website."
"But Marinette would never do all this herself!" Adrien was furious.
"Of course she wouldn't!" Gabriel was just as shocked as Adrien. He never even thought of it being Marinette herself. "I'm just saying they put her name down. Probably to keep their own identities a secret."
"But doesn't that mean Marinette can shut it down? If the website magically belongs to her, she can have it shut down. And get those people in jail because it's illegal what they're doing." A glimpse of hope went through Adrien's body.
Gabriel's eyes widened. It was like he had never thought of that possibility.
"She certainly can," his voice was small, really quiet and sounding like he was shocked. "She can report it to the police and they will have to investigate."
A somewhat proud, yet also really relieved smile appeared on Adrien's lips as he rushed out of his father's office. He just had to let Marinette know.
He rushed to his childhood room, excited to tell Marinette the good news. But when he entered his room, Marinette was sitting on her knees, right in the middle of his room.
She was crying, holding her hands over her chest as she tried to steady her breathing.
Of course Adrien immediately rushed over to her, taking her in his embrace, trying to calm her down.
"Mari," he called out, but she didn't react. "We can put an end to all of this news stuff."
She wiped her nose, but shook her head no.
"Yes, we can. You can report the website to the police! It's under your name. You-"
"Adrien," Marinette interrupted. "It's useless."
He frowned in confusion. "You don't even know what I was about to say?"
"You want me to report it because the website is technically mine. I can have the police find out who's behind all this, and get whoever is doing all this into jail," she said unfazed.
"And you don't want that?"
"We won't even be alive until all this would happen," she mumbled, barely audible.
"What?" He wasn't sure he heard her correctly.
"We'll be dead in less than a week, Adrien." She looked up into his eyes. "This will kill us."
"But- How?" He didn't understand. "I thought-"
"Alix came by. She was crying. She kept on apologising and wouldn't tell me why. So I just demanded the truth. I can do that since I'm the guardian. And she told me." Marinette stopped to take a deep breath. "She told me we were destined to die young."
Adrien didn't want to believe her. His face paled and he just refused to believe what Marinette said. He had been hoping this was all just a big awful prank coming from Marinette.
"But I told you about the fake death. I told you I am Chat Noir. I did everything I've been asked to do to avoid that!"
"She tried giving us more time. But she failed."
"No," he said. "NO!" He stood up from the floor, his hands stroking through his hair, tugging at the ends of them. "This can't happen. This is not how we're supposed to end. Not- Not like this." He was in denial, more than Marinette could have ever been.
"W-What about our wedding? Our future children? We've been promised children!" He continued to freak out. "We've been told we can avoid dying in literally one and a half years when I came clean, AND I DID COME CLEAN WITH YOU!"
Adrien wasn't sure what terrified him more. The fact that he was dying so soon, or the fact that he would not get to live with Marinette by his side. He wouldn't get to have the wedding he wanted to desperately. He wouldn't get to meet his children. He wouldn't get to grow old with the person he loved the most.
"It's too late, Adrien," Marinette mumbled.
"No, it's not too late. We're not going to report it then. We're not going to do shit anymore then. We won't go outside until this day had passed. We can, we can survive this."
"It's not that easy." She shook her head, staring at the floor. "We're destined to die. If we stay home or not, the universe will find a way to kill us."
"How many days?"
Marinette didn't answer.
"HOW MANY DAYS?!" He got louder.
"Two." Her voice was quieter than ever.
