Chapter 12

Weeks had passed, and I had still not returned to the house that would be turned into our museum. I was terrified of it, considering everything that I went through the last time I was there. Zak had been there multiple times with a construction company, beginning renovations. The secret door has since been boarded up, with no way to get down the stairs, but before he did that he filled the basement with cement. He wasn't taking any risks. I was sitting on our bed, doing research for the next investigation when I heard the front door open and close softly. I gently got off of the bed and made my way down the stairs to greet the man that I loved.

"Hey baby. How was your day?" Zak asked me as he pulled me into a quick but gentle kiss.

"Same old same old. But I think I found a new location to investigate, and wanted your opinion." I told him softly.

"Demonic?"

"No. Stop worrying about me."

Zak rolled his eyes at me and let out a chuckle. I walked up to our bedroom and grabbed my laptop to bring back downstairs so he could look at what I had found while I cooked us dinner.

"The Magnolia Plantation, huh? I think I have heard of that place before. I think it is a good idea, and they guys will for sure go along with it." Zak said as I turned and handed him his plate of stuffed chicken and rice.

"I have always wanted to go there, ever since I was a little girl. I love the history behind it. Plus, voodoo is huge there, and I figured we could talk to a voodoo priest about the haunting. The main ghost there is supposedly a voodoo priestess, so maybe we could even perform a ritual to get things hyped up there?" I said as I sat down with my own food and began eating.

"I love the way you think. Jeez, maybe this is why I fell in love with you. Well, besides those good looks of yours that is."

"Gee thanks."

I rolled my eyes at him and blew him a kiss sarcastically. I truly did love this man, he makes me smile and makes me happier than I have ever been. Who knew you could fall in love so fast and easily.

"So, I'll call Aaron and let him know so he can start getting equipment gathered if you wanted to call the owners and set up the investigation itself." I told him as I finished the last bite of my food.

"You got it babe." Zak replied as he kissed my forehead and set his plate in the sink.

I picked up my phone and dialed Aaron's number, which just so happened to also be saved under 'tweedle-dumb' in my phone. I told him of the plans and he started gathering everything. My stomach was doing flips due to the excitement, I was going somewhere I had always wanted to go! So much history surrounded this place and I couldn't wait to delve deeper into it, especially the voodoo aspect of it. Voodoo always got such a bad rep, but it actually was used more for good than evil, and I wish more people would understand and see that. I ran up the stairs and pulled out Zak and ours suitcases to begin packing our clothes. As I turned around with my back to the door to start throwing clothes into the suitcase, I felt two strong arms wrap around me.

"Excited are we?" Zak asked me as he kissed the back of my neck.

"Only a little. Aaron has gathered all of the equipment so we could leave whenever the owners were okay with us coming." I replied quickly, still throwing clothes into the suitcase.

"We can leave as early as tomorrow morning. Make sure you pack that sexy outfit I like so much."

"You mean the one I have yet to wear?"

"Yes. That one."

Zak kissed my neck from behind, his grip around my waist never wavering, sending chills up and down my entire body. I finally turned to face him after zipping up the suit case and planted a passionate kiss on his lips. My arms snaked around his neck, pulling him closer to where there was barely a centimeter of space between us. He gently walked my backwards until my knees touched the bed, causing me to fall backwards onto it. He climbed on top of me, my legs wrapped around him as I laid on my back, and began planting kisses all over my neck and chest causing soft moans to escape my lips. I reached for the bottom of his shirt, gently tugging it upwards, signaling I wanted him to take it off. In one swift move he did as I wanted and took his shirt off. My hands migrated to his chest and torso, feeling every defined muscle on him clearly getting him just as excited as I was because I felt his hardness inbetween my legs. He swiftly took my shirt off so he had more access to my body, planting kisses everywhere he could get to. Just as I reached for the button of his pants, my phone started ringing loudly. I let out an audible sigh, as did Zak as he collapsed on the bed next to me.

"Ya know, everytime we even get close something always interrupts us." He said with a laugh.

"It's Aaron. Last time it also was Aaron." I said with a laugh as I picked up my phone.

I swiped the answer button as I put him on speaker so Zak could hear what was going on as well.

"What could you possibly want? I literally just talked to you ten minutes ago." I said, irritated.

"Zak wasn't answering his phone, and I wanted to go over some equipment details with him." Aaron responded quietly, knowing he had irritated me.

"Did it ever occur to you that the reason he didn't answer is because he was busy?"

"Oh shit, I'm sorry. How was I supposed to know you two were getting jiggy with it?!"

I hung up the phone and rolled my eyes as Zak pulled me back into him into a passionate kiss once again.

"What equipment could be so important that he couldn't ask me or wait just a little while longer?" I asked in between the kisses he was planting on me.

"Honestly? He probably can't find a battery pack or something and wants to know if I have it. Or he wants to use something new and wants my permission." Zak responded, laying down beside me and looking into my eyes.

"But, I was having fun."

"So was I. But I had better go call him back and see what he wants."

I grunted as he got out of bed and went back down to the kitchen to get his phone and call Aaron.
