Chapter 3
18:34, 16 March 2022''Here is your drink.'' said the barman and waited for me to continue''The name is Y/N by the way.'' I told him with a bright smile''Good to know.''It must have been the cocktail, but I could feel that Eddy was attracted to me in some sort of way. But that was definitely not my intention. There were other tasks at hand that needed to be taken care of.''So, where did you come from? I have never seen you around, am I mistaken?'' he asked''No you are not. It is the first time I am visiting this city.'' I exclaimed''And what brings you here? Does it have to do with Phil?'' ''Whoa whoa. Slow down there cowboy. One question at a time.''''I am sorry. Forgive me.'' he apologized with his puppy eyes
Now I knew that it wasn't the alcohol.
''It's okay. Must seem unusual to you that someone comes to Duskwood just like that.''''It is indeed. We rarely have guests. That's mainly because our city has a bad reputation.''''What do you mean by that?'' I asked''Well, as I mentioned before, with Hannah's case. It really has created a mess here. And for some reason, I believe that Phil is partly responsible.''''You surely know him better than me. Do you think that he would do such thing?''''Phil is... a complicated person. He is kind and he would do anything for the people he loves, but that means there are no boundaries to his actions.'' ''Hmm... Interesting.'' I murmured lost in my thoughts''May I ask why you are involved in this case?''''I truly haven't understood yet. I am just constantly being told that I must be the key. It all started when Thomas, Hannah's boyfriend texted me. He claimed that he got my number from somewhere and added me to a groupchat. Long story short, Thomas, his friends and I are trying to solve the case now.'' ''But how can you be so sure that Hannah is still alive? It's been years since she went missing.''''I hope that's not the case. But even if it is, we want to find the killer. It's like an obligation you know? Like we owe her.'' ''I understand.''
And with these words our talk about Hannah ended.I took the last sip of my drink and thanked him.''Thank you for the cocktails Eddy. And thank you for the company.'' I said with a smile ''The pleasure is mine.''
It was late, almost midnight and I had to find a place to stay for the night. The motel would be a great option, as I didn't have enough money for a luxurious hotel.
''I hope you are not going to drive. You seem pretty drunk.'' the barman warned''I don't think I am that drunk. Besides, I don't even have a car.'' I chuckled''Fair enough.'' he said and laughed
I couldn't stand still and my vision was kind of blurry. I had a lot of cocktails, that's for sure. Definitely more than 3. Which means that I couldn't really think before I act...
''Heyy. Not so fast, where are you heading to sweetheart?'' a guy asked
These guys that pissed me off before. Ughh... I smell trouble.
He grabbed my waist with a smooth move and attached my body to his. His friends from behind seemed to enjoy it and felt proud of him. They were cheering and laughing carelessly while they were seeing this scene.
''Whohoo! Yeah George! Show her your moves!''
It was about to get even more fascinating.
''Get your bloody hands off me.'' I said that only he would listen''Are you threating me? Well, this was unexpected.'' he murmered ''I warned you.''
I quickly grabbed his arms and threw him on the floor.''Aow!'' But apparently that wasn't enough for him to stop. He was stronger than me and was able to escape my grab, throwing me on the wall.''Ah. My back..'' I shouted in pain
I looked around hoping to find an object that would stun him.''This is your chance Y/N. Find something...'' I murmered ''Yes. That's what I need.''
Eddy hadn't been there which was a great opportunity to grab a bottle of vodka. Not to drink of course...
I jumped over the bar counter and went to get a bottle.''Craving for vodka?'' I asked and threw the bottle right on his head. He was now unconscious.
His buddies didn't even try to attack me after what they had seen. They were in shock.
''Time to leave I guess...'' I said to myself and went for the doorI didn't want to get into trouble. But I guess that was unavoidable.
''Good job Y/N. You made a great first impression. Just great...'' I murmered feeling angry at myself
I was safe. At least for now...
