My eyes flip open instantly when I hear my alarm ring. I quickly sit up and turn off the alarm. Even though I don't have to be to school until 7:45am, I wake up extra early so I can be on time to maintain my perfect attendance record. I know, I'm such a dork.
I can't wait for school. I enjoy being the smartest girl in class.
Just the thought of going to school makes me smile. I despise summer vacation and spring break because that's when I don't get to go to school. In case you didn't notice, I kinda really am obsessed with learning.
I get out of bed and go to the bathroom. I take a shower and brush my teeth. I dress semi decent today since it's the first day of school. I put on a white sweatshirt and some black jeans. To finish it off I put on my white combat boots. I throw my long curly brown hair into a super messy ponytail and I look in the mirror. I sigh...time for the glasses. I pick up my glasses and wipe them off with edge of my sweatshirt. I slowly slip them on my face.
I don't really put much effort into my outfits. I'm antisocial so know ones pays any attention to me and I like it that way.
I grab my book bag and dash downstairs. I sit at the kitchen counter.
"Good morning sweetheart." My mom says as she places a plate of bacon and eggs in front of me.
"Good morning Mom." I say.
I shove a piece of bacon into my mouth.
"So Samantha are you excited for your first day of School?" My mom asks.
"Mom? You know I absolutely love school....yes! I'm excited for school, I'm more than excited I'm ecstatic!" I say with a huge smile on my face.
"Samantha calm down." My mom says with a bit of a giggle.
"I can't, I love school!" I say laughing.
"When I was your age I hated school, all I wanted to do was hang out with my friends." My mom shrugs with a small laugh.
"Well I guess we're nothing a like." I say laughing.
"Yep, your more like your dad. He was always doing his homework and reading and stuff like that." She says.
My eyes widen, "Really?"
"Yep he was a boring doof until he met me." She says.
"I was definitely a doof." My dad says while kissing my mom.
My dad comes over to me and hugs me. "Bye Samantha. I'm off to work have wonderful day at school."
"I will." I smile.
"Samantha are you ready to go?" My mom asks.
"Ready as ever!" I say excitingly.
"Well come on let's go." she says.
I walk out of the kitchen and into the garage. I run to the car and get into the passenger seat. My mom gets in and starts the car.
North Valley Highschool here I come.

•AT SCHOOL•
As soon as we pull up to the school my heart picks up pace. There he is. Sitting on the grass. Billy the poet. The boy who uses words instead of looks to win a girl over. Even though he's super hot he doesn't act like he knows it. He's just perfect.
I have never spoken to him before. I'm nervous and I'm the schools dork. He would never like me, but I'm head over heels in love with him.
I snap out of the daze he had me in and realize I need to get inside of the school before I'm late.
I quickly kiss my mom on the cheek. "Bye mom!"
"Bye sweetie have a wonderful day!" She says.
I quickly walk past Billy.
I wish I had the courage to talk to him.
I dash into the school and absorb the smell of fresh paint. I reach into my pocket and grab my class schedule, locker number and combination.
Samantha Johnson,Locker # 912Locker combination ~25-31-21
I slowly walk down the hall examining all the numbers of the lockers searching for mine.
I finally spot my locker. I open it and put my stuff in it. I grab everything I need for first period and close the locker. I see a unfamiliar girl. I literally jump for dear life.
"Hey I'm Maddie!"
"You scared me." I laugh softly while holding my heart.
She giggles. "Sorry I'm new and my locker is right next to yours and I saw you and I said hi and I scared you by accident and..."
This girl sure can talk. I zone out listening to her babble on and on. I nod my head as if I'm listening to her.
"...but anyways I'm just trying to make friends." she finishes.
She wants to be friends? I don't have time for friends.
"So would you like to be my new friend?" She asks.
Why does she want to be my friend out of all people? I'm a complete dork. She's extremely perky and I'm an antisocial book worm. Me and this girl are complete opposites. How could we ever be friends? But I've never had a friend a before... so I guess I can give her a chance.
"Um, uhhh, sure." I say awkwardly.
How do friends even work?
She grabs my hands and starts to jump up and down.
She's really perky wow...
"We're gonna be best friends forever and ever!" She yells.
"Yayyy!" I say sarcastically.
What did I just get myself into?
She pulls out her schedule out and takes mine.
"Look! We're in the same homeroom!" She yells
"That's cool." I smile.
We hear the bell ring.
"Come on! Let's get to class!" She yells.
She grabs my wrist and pulls me to class.
As soon as we get into class I take my seat. I realize this is a new teacher.
"Hello everyone my name is Ms. Ester." She says.
Everyone nods. "Well today you will be taking a test." she says.
A test already? I like her.
Everyone grunts. "This is high school get used to tests." She passes out the tests and I'm done with mine in less than 15 minutes.
I get up and go hand her my test. I stand there and watch her grade it.
Her jaw drops. "Samantha Johnson go to the principals office!"
Well that was a quick reply.
"But why?" I ask.
"You'll find out when you get there." She winks.
"Okay." I hesitate.
She writes me a hall pass and I grab my stuff and walk out of the class room. I start walking to the principal's office.
Why would she send me to the principal's office? I didn't do anything wrong.
After a few minutes of walking down these long halls, I finally arrive at the principal's office. I knock once before walking in and taking a seat in front of the principal.
"Hello Samantha Johnson." He greets sternly.
"Hi." I say nervously.
"I bet your wondering why your here.." He starts.
I nod my head.
"Well Samantha Ms. Ester graded your test and you got all the answers right..." He says.
"Yeah?" I say. I mentally High five my brain.
"Well...that was a 11th grade test." he says
"And?" I ask.
"And your in 10th grade right?..." he says.
Can he please just tell me why I'm here?!
I nod my head. "I'm supposed to be in 9th but I skipped kindergarten."
He nods. "Well since you got all the answers right on the test, I've decided to put you in the 11th grade so now all your classes will be with 11th graders." He says.
My jaw drops "But I'm only 15?"
"I know that but your very advanced for your age." He says.
"But..." I say with my mouth wide open.
I'm so shocked I'm lost for words.
"All 11 grade classes are on the 3rd floor so here's your new locker number and combination. Oh and here's your new schedule. " He hands me the papers and I grab them.
"You can leave now." He smiles.
I get up and walk out of the principal's office.
I just made a new friend and now I have to leave her? I'm used to all of the 10th graders, but 11 graders? I don't know. I'm actually really scared. I don't know anything about being in 11th grade, but I guess I'll find out soon...
